Toll.
What was,
is, silent
inconvenience
and required payment.
Forget. It's already
Been paid and the day is young,
But the hours few and fleeting.
Quickly, keep step with the assumed note.
Stumbling steps, the rhythm is all wrong.
The music stops the deaf procession. Hark! Hope.
Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. The bells play for dead ears.
