that feat of a daredevil
tiptoeing across a wire line
after pondering this concept
I find it to be an excellent
metaphor for life
so precarious we edge forward
as the growing slack sways
gently at first as we gain footing
but maneuvering becomes more quite
a bit more difficult along the way
soon enough we swing with the breeze
no fixtures for guidance but
a passerby bird flapping its wings
and a brief moment of optimism
if all we can see, and like the
bird . . . fly free
