The cleanness of the feeling When you munch into a pear It’s the crispness of an apple And the sweetness living there Is so refreshing and enjoyable It makes your senses sing And the sunshine’s making patterns In the red leaves by the spring.
The lovely smoothness of bananas And the piquancy of fig Strawberries had in season Make you feel so roundly big And the riot of sensation When you bite into a grape Really drives you to delirium Which might leave your mouth agape.
Water melon rich in redness And the tartness of a quince A pineapple’s golden sweetness, Many people do convince Themselves that fruit is for the birds But as far as I‘m concerned, Fresh fruit is God’s own nectar …And those are my final words.
