Poems
Aug 2015
a champagne wind blows in from the south
whenever the summer sun
sets on the day,
and night falls and I
feel you drifting
away --
I remember your presence,
your laughter, your eyes,
across distance and time
and the starry night's skies.
when we're separated by
time zones, and space,
I think of the way
your hair falls in your face;
of your sunset kisses,
your smile, like champagne --
my gods, how I wish
we could be aeroplanes.
(like jet engines, going
no place in time --
no clouds, no turbulence, just
altitude & wine).
