With age we gain wisdom to see from our past,
we fear all the good things we know never last.
It becomes so uneasy to try this again, knowing
heartache will be too close and within.

One step forward and two steps back, I must be
so careful since love hasn't last. We leave this
earth or we go our own ways, but one thing for
sure, my loves doesn't stray.

It's not going to be easy to let you come in, to a
heart that's been broken, again and again. There's
so much love to give you, if you find your way
but my troubled heart needs trust to obey.

With age we learn that words are just words, and
a pretentious man can say them. Yet, if we fall for
it all at our seasoned years, we've gained nothing
but a cloud to hide in.

Love's never easy to get too, it takes time to come
together. Like a recipe you add, first trust then a
promise forever. I'll fill your life with laughter,
if it's togetherness you're after.
