I watch you slowly walk away
Walking over the hills and out of sight
I know you don't need me anymore
Life must go on, I need to rebuild
Not a word was said
Only the sound of the wind
Blowing through the trees

I watch you slowly walk away
Walking over the hills out of sight
I know it won't be easy
Running through the forest, hot on my trail
I can't stop now, I can't give up
Feeling like I'm struggling on
Just to survive, to see another day

I watch you slowly walk away
Over the hills out of sight
I'll never see those eyes again
I'll never hear your laugh again
Until the hands of time turn
And there's nothing but a faded picture
Hanging on the wall above my bed
