In The Meantime
While you were sitting there with him,
I was sitting here with me.
The bond between you no more thin,
I enjoyed my agony.
While I suffered times alone,
You were sprung, head over heel,
My heart moved from moan to moan,
Yours became the strongest steel.
But times will come and I will learn
That happiness comes as I choose,
No matter what, no matter when,
Someone's always up to lose.
As odd as it may ever feel,
Loss might be just a new start,
You can choose whatever's real,
Once you learn to guide your heart.
