Eye contact leaks personalities
You hope stay secret
Yet
They beg to be seen,
Recognised and conversed warmly with

They only wish to feel not as strange
As their owner fears they are
Be held, loved, cherished even,
Just not shunned

When lids shut,
or gaze averts,
Believe safety is inside yourself
But please,
Know that's a curse
This is my first poem.  I'm not sure I understand rules of poetry fully yet but I decided to just try anyway (yes, this is weak disclaimer to cover my back).
