May 2015
A tiny kitten hid under my tire,
I stepped on the pedals
In just a single turning of the wheel
Parts and pieces of fur and meat
Were bathed in blood
On the cold hard road
I cried for days
I didn’t mean to
I’m sorry
It all happened too fast.

A boy showed me infatuation
I took it all for granted
The meals he cooked, I cooked, we cooked
Private talks, close proximity, presence of each other
The flight we took and the pleasures we had
Shared jokes, unmade promises, confusion
I will cry for a long time
I had wanted for us to last
I’m sorry
It all happened too fast.
