May 2015
the pain dissipates
as soon as she turns the corner
and he sees her smile
the pumping of his heart
engulfs his soul
and turns muddy sickness
into something alive
with each of her footsteps
his heart pumps harder
   & deeper
replenishing his body
with the pure redness of life

his life support has arrived
    disguised as angel
            in combat boots.
