May 2015
lost
adrift in a sea
of anger and betrayal,
the waves of pain
crashing down upon me.
You throw me a life ring
but I refuse to
grasp at maybes.
My body is
a temple of pain,
but I know
it will be short-lived.
And as the waves
engulf me,
I smile with relief
