I understand you more
The farther the miles stretch
And I feel for
All those lost files you sent
In the hopes of making something new
When in reality, all you had to make
Was you.

See I watch leaves fall from trees that just came back to life
And it reminds me of the way we
Ramble on endlessly, to avoid the call of the knife
Asking you to break the skin
You almost came to love again.

I got these new pills and I been drinking too much
Don't know if I'm ill enough to need this heavy of a crutch
This is the first I've wrote since you left
Trying to sift through the memories and regrets

I'll write about you, cause you were my muse
I don't love you, cause you lit the fuse
I love you, for the person you are today
Not in love with you, but I love you, okay?
