Death is coming
But I can't tell you when
I don't have his itinerary
So why should I pretend
To know his schedule
It's not like he's a friend
He's unwanted visitor
Who signifies the end

Death is coming
He's knockin' at my door
But I'll resist him
Until I can't no more
Every new year
What I know for sure
Is  he's one year closer to me
Than he was before

Death is coming
Every day since I was born
He draws ever nearer
Like an approaching dawn
The time's not certain
Until the time is gone
Then all that's left behind
Are loved ones who will morn

Death is coming
He's knockin' at the door
But I'll resist him
Until I can't no more
Every new year
What I know for sure
Is he's one year closer to me
Than he was before

So do what you can
With the time that you have now
Tomorrow isn't promised
To you anyhow
Do an act of kindness
Greet someone with a smile
Cos' we'll all be leaving here
In a little while

At times like most
I guess I do pretend
This life that I'm living
Is never gonna end
But in truth in fact
It's nothing but pure spin
Cos Death is coming
He;s just around the bend

Death is coming
He's knockin' at my door
But I'll resist him
Until I can't no more
Every new year
What I know for sure
Is he's one year closer to me
Than he was before

Death is coming
But I can't tell you when
I don't have his itinerary
So why should I pretend
To know his schedule
It's not like he's a friend
He's unwanted visitor
Who signifies the end
