Besides that Mrs. Lincoln
How’d you like the play
The third act was something
Most people say
It was a laugh a minute
Before that dastardly display
By John Wilkes Booth
Who came to ruined the day

Besides that Mrs. Lincoln
How’d you like the play
If you had to review it
What would you say
Would you give it four stars
Or something in between
We’re all wonderin’
If you know what I mean

Besides that Mrs. Lincoln
How’d you like the play
Before it got cut short
In a terrible way
Too bad you and Mr. Lincoln
Didn’t get to stay
In your seats before
The ambulance took him away

Besides that Mrs. Lincoln
How’d you like the play
If you had to review it
What would you say
Would you give it four stars
Or something in between
We’re all wonderin’
If you know what I mean

John’s an old scene stealer
From way, way back
But killing the President’s
Wasn’t part of the act
Before jumping on stage
As a matter of fact
Then limping off
In the darkness he’s such a hack

It was a sad circumstance
Yes indeed
When you consider all the people
That Mr. Lincoln freed
It’s really to bad that a plot
Could succeed
Against such a man
Now we all need to take heed

Besides that Mrs. Lincoln
How’d you like the play
If you had to review it
What would you say
Would you give it four stars
Or something in between
We’re all wonderin’
If you know what I mean
