i bought myself a budgie  to keep me company
i live on my own and could be friends with me.

someone to make me cheerful when ever i was down
that could make me smile and take away the frown.

he was very pretty he had lovely charm
he walked along my shoulders and up down my arm.

i learned him how to talk now he can say hello
a proper friend at last that gives my heart a glow
