~

This torturous journey has ended
with lush green wishes fulfilled
and desires on garden gates
opened and blooming

The path indeed was long, crooked
and treacherous at times,
but I held your hand
refusing to let you fall

When angry skies turned dark
I provided light so that you
could find your way,
even when it seemed an overwhelming task

Though weakened by twists and turns,
I remained your shadow,
regardless of what challenges we met,
we faced them together

When you felt you could not go on,
it all became too much, I carried you
in my arms, through the ravines
of disappointment and despair

And now that the end has arrived,
with a new sunrise glowing,
bringing fresh dreams
on dew drop sighs of relief

I can see that the road ahead is safe
and you may no longer need me,
but I will always be here, no matter what,
*waiting for your call, just in case
