There's a fracture in my consciousness
Telling me to move on and forget her
And I'm really trying
But she's still got her hands
Wrapped around my neck
Squeezing as tightly as ever
Just this time from a distance
And on the other side of the barriers
We've built between us
And I'm praying that the hand of god
Will strike me down
Or the epiphany of true wakefulness
Makes it's presence known.

I can only take so much.
