something
// //
••
It was good
( goodness was ! )
||
The first thing I remember was I was about 7 or 8
And we went to down town Philadelphia and there 1000's
Of black people there and they looked poor and unhealthy
And very unhappy and that I got very angry that this was so
And that it meant everything I was being taught in school
And all of AMERICA and American history
Was nothing but a ******* lie
••
And I left home ( in my heart )
And wandered ( in my imagination)
DOWN THE ROAD
//
And I still am the same
And the roads are still empty
And I still wonder where you are
