her
She is more thanΒ Β just beautiful,
her hair shines in the sun's shadow
and her skin is filled with freckles
like a whole new galaxy.
Her skin is wrinkled
but in every single one of the folds
there are stories from the past
kept with her in her mind
and on her skin.
Her voice is raw from the smoke,
but it sounds to me
like childhood dreams and laughter.
She has the scent of violets
and a hint of licorice
buried in her skin and hair.
She is my Grandmother.
And this was her flair.
