Jan 2015
balanced upon
the rim
of this waking firmament
the scale
dropped from
the hide of the dragon
that circles
far above the sky
orange red
and glistening yellow
it burns with fervour
bright, bright argent light
that dispells the softness
of the lingering night...

and the dragon circles
so far away....unaware
to us he has gifted
another day....
i remember reading a folk tale similar to this as a child
...it came to mind as i watched the sunrise this morning...
