I remember thinking
This could be our place
The little corner by the window
And now another man runs his hand down
My arm
Places my hair behind my ear
Buys me my $11 drink
Without even a blink
I thought you and I would be forever
But I saw the world as so small
And thank God
To return
As a new changed woman
In the little hole in the wall bar
I thought no one knew about
But you and me
How wrong I was
And thank God
For that.
