Jan 2015
this body electric,
has sung far too long.

now the fuse has blown
the lights have gone.
so now she stands in the dark,
the blessed, blessed dark,

slowly, she undresses
removing,
her stage show finery,
glitter and glam.
climbs wearily into
her favourite flannel pyjamas
and takes herself off to bed
with a nice cup of cocoa
...
and yet she remembers
in the quiet stillness
how desperately,
how completely,
he loved her....

and the scent of  flowers
and pine woods
fill the air...

the body electric sleeps now,
with tears upon wrinkled
cheeks...
