At words sentimental
I’m awfully dreadful,
When it comes to exposition

I’ve found it best
To keep it locked in my chest
Hence avoiding its demolition

But somehow you’ve
Got me in an expressive mood
Thus inspiring this composition:

It hurts me dear when you think I don’t care,
If only you knew how I feel toward you…

When you’re holding my hand, I can’t help but smile,
Your skin against mine; I’m completely enthralled
Your arms hold me tight and nothing can harm me
My head on your chest, your heart beats out a rhythm
[Sleepily I dote on sweet dreams of you…]

Rarely if ever does one see the stars here,
But it doesn’t matter ‘cause I have your smile
My bad days are better as soon as you’re near me
When I hear your laughter, my worries are gone
[For the first time, I go to bed anxious for dawn]

A million years would never be enough
To hear what you have to say
I want to know you, inside and out,
I like who you are more every day,
[Just please, don’t push me away]

Hold my hand, and know, I hate letting go
Smile, and for that moment, I have the whole world
It may be cliché, but I had to tell you somehow
The thought of you sets my heart aglow
[“You’re my hardest goodbye and my favorite hello”]
