I feel afraid,
afraid to hold your hand,
because I know,
I won't be your only man.

I feel afraid,
to tell you how I feel,
because I know,
that none of this is real.

I'll put my faith in tomorrow,
knowing it won't run away.
I know I have a future,
and I know that you can't stay.

So please,
don't make me,
say go.

Don't tell me,
what we have is real.
I know how,
you really feel.

Don't tell me,
you love my laugh.
This love is false,
it will not last.

I've never been one to let in,
the people who love me most.
I've been let down too much,
to let someone in too close.

So please,
don't make me,
say go.

I don't want you to go.
I just want you to know...
