Valiant galley set sail
adrift through the  Dardanelles.
Her masts, backs straight,
composed as Venetian dames
in familiar basse danse.

Sunset floats amongst the sea mist
silhouetting the capital's skyline.
The holy dome of the Αγία Σοφία
eclipses the light.

The Lady makes port,
at the City on the Seven Hills.
Gentle entrance to the beating heart
of the bustling district.
I see your arms
I see the cuts
Please stop the harm
I know it's hard
But your body will be forever scarred
I need you to understand I care
And I know it's not fair
but one day
You'll have Flowers in Your Hair
hair that will rest about your face
not one thing out of place
Lying in all your grace
I see the fake smile you put on
I see the pain that's foregone
I see your posts
I know they're ghosts
Ghosts that haut you from your past
But I know this can't last
You're strong
You don't belong
With Flowers in Your Hair
I know you're overcome with despair
But you need to take care
Because your life is a prize
and you should be happy you're alive
I hope to see you make huge strives
Please stay alive
I don't want to have to see Her

You might
get the idea,
when reading
my poetry,
that I am
some sort
of a dumb guy,
who really doesn't know
about Zen or poetry,
and really isn't very good
with the English language,
or you might
see something different,
some guy behind this stuff,
who really does
know something,
like that he really
shouldn't use the word
really so much,
and who
is sort of a tongue in cheek,
Zen wise-***
and that he actually does know
something about poetry,
and that he uses
the English language
this way
intentionally,
but the real poet's voice
is probably
none of the above,
and then there is
the real kicker,
and that is
that he is
all of the above!
We had a pig of whom my son adored
My wife and I did deplore
We gave in and let it stay
My son could not hold back hoorays

We sat through a wicked storm
My son went out to keep him warm
We heard a screech, running, cries
My anger peaked when I saw his eyes

We never thought the pig would bite
My son forgave, it wasn't right
We took the pig, to spill it's ******* blood
My heart broke down... my son's love

We thought it through and agreed
My son should never have to bleed
We got some rope and tied it down
"Only see and speak" brought a frown

We then considered, knock out it's teeth
My word! This shall end our grief
We grabbed a hammer and took a swing
My pig could only squeal and sing

We did not know what would become
"He's no longer friendly, just bitterly numb"

My eyes are welling up
the tightness in my chest
strikes pangs of restlessness

violent & shaking I'm trying to drown you,
I'm trying to **** every single ounce of desire for you
for what I once had, I once had you all in cupped hands
& like sand you poured out from between my fingers
gaps I could not close, & nothing to do but watch you
leave me for years

away.
The worlds a big place
There are a lot of challenges to face
Life is unpredictable we can't erase
The pain, it is the price of life
we have to put up one hell of a fight
And make sure you look for the light
because there are so many things
Things to make you want to take flight
But thats just not an option for tonight
There is always something bright
You just have to step back and look around
There is something bright to be found
I promise you theres something new
Something that will get you through
There is always something there
I know life isn't fair
and I know it's hard to care
but right not you have to carry on
even though he's gone
Somethings there for you I know
Something that will help you learn and grow
Just let your emotions show
Because sometimes we have to learn to

The problem with bright futures
Is that they grow as dull as everything else.
They too collect dust,
Hold every speck of dirt they can find -
Until you wake one morning and realise you are trapped.

See the walls have crept closer
And the ceilings leant down to hug the floor.
But they're only there to support you,
Because they love you so,
And they do not see their embrace can crush.
