The Dragon"
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
The Dragon

Bowels of earth emitting sulphurs' acrid stench,
This denizen of darkness dank,
Dragon stood with baited breath,
Unfurling vein engorged wings,
While peeking out for little things,
As tasty titbit,
He could nibble,

Then a maiden strolling by caught this wicked dragons eye,
Lost his hunger for his lunch,
Fancied woman for his munch,
This dragon was a little *****,
Didn't fancy woman mornay,

He fancied love this tragic dragon,
Scuffled over smiling sweetly,
As only dragon can,
She was frightened totally and called out to her man,
Her man he came to rescue her from this scary dragon chap,
What a huge mishap,
His lady ran, she rushed away,
While man became the dragon's lunch!

Sadness!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Sitting in a daydream,
While waiting in the purple haze,
Why on earth can I not escape, this ****** awful maze,
A maze where darkness lives and dies,

All I hear, unearthly hum,
The beating of the kettle drum,
The listeners are screaming on,
Hear an unholy din,

Fighting crazy battle, that I can never win,
No matter how the fighting goes, it runs eternally,
Battle stations flying flags,
Tagged with golden edges,
Balancing precariously on bleeding ledges,

This 50 year old funny bird is learning how to fly,
A fledgling in new flight,
Release my wings to fly away,
Let me live to breathe again,
To escape the mundane dirge,
Release my spirit,
Let me purge,

Trapped in nightmares,
Wanting passion,
Almost more than life itself,
I live the life cos I have too,
Very little choice.

Stuck in situ,
Lost in space,
Put a smile back on my face,
You're probably the only one who can!

(YEP, I'M TALKING ABOUT POETRY)!

Sleeping in Dreams!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
In dreams, I live thinking of you as I leave my deep sleep, wonderful REM sleep, nearly awake,
Deep as  glory chasm, pleasure filled and sumptuous, wonderful image of lovely, lush candy coloured clouds,
Aw shucks,
Oooh, put away those rose-tinted specs again, just phantoms at play,
Stupid ****** woman, she's one hell of a woman ,are or at least, so I was told !
Witches and *******, woman all on the take, make of that sad suggestion, whatever you like,
Those flamin' heart strings are elastic, as lycra  spring loaded, ****** drastic,
Oh here we go, up and down, roller coaster of love's essence captured me again!
Bang, deck hit, oh s**t!
In dreams I'm laying curled up as vulnerable, miniscule, lost innocent, sweet soul at rest,
Convincing you that belonging is supreme in being rather than being lost in diversionary excuses of self inflicted
solitude!
Virtual madness, in fantasy!
Tortured by long gone spirits morose, whose purpose is torture, sad souls, destroying the world of belief in life,
is for the living,
In dreams, what will you find,  perchance, me haunting recesses deep in your head,
Guess, that's the only way I can share your bed!

Pinnocchio and the Queen!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Puppet image, sorrowful,
Rouge dusted sparkles bless his cheeks,
Such childlike image, as cheery angel,
Gay, misled by teen fantasy,
Hair coiffured not a whisper out of place,
In faded denim hot pants,
Appears out of place,
Parading as a shop mannequin,
Like a tiny harlequin,
Lust for some emotion,
Advertising wares for sale, in aim of a promotion,
A sad commodity,
Full of ****** satisfaction,
Young men, old men , suited men and booted men,
Seeking cutie prey,
Maybe,Streets paved in gold,
Fools gold in the truth was found,
Impure truth was the only thing he ever bought!
Prince Albert, although not his **** in truth,
Instead pond life **** took on the role, with cruel control,
Lives in land where tragic lies, and sorrow becomes magnified,
The shards of all, is ****** fantasies.
As an immigrant to land of city lights,
I see through windows fogged by city smoke!
Visualising through caring eyes,
What I see appalls me deep within,
Tears my soul to tears!

Winter's Night, NFA!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Chilling in blanket, grey red edged, itching,
Bright clear night,
Leaves him colder,
Fingers smart,
Blue, cold attacked,
Feeling older,
Cloud cover dispersed,
Lack of cloud makes night feel worse!
Holds on to night's mantle , try to keep warm,
His tatty grey blanket protects him from harm,
May warm his heart, if only a little,
It's only the cold that keeps him alive,
My homeless friend, a fight to survive,
Fights on night after night,
Wrapped in winter's chill overnight,
Stern, severe, no desire to be here!
Circumstances beyond his control,
Left him stuck unearthly hole,
It's Friday night,
Greetings abound,
Soup served by poppets,
Angels wrapped in overcoats,
Ladles in hand,
Here again to meet Friday nights,
Supply with demand,
Not societal pariah,
A sad soul, lost in loneliness,
Living, but not alive!

The Flamenco Bride!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Lady of dance so eloquent, Flamenco born from her wombs' true intent,
Castanets clatter, as tambourine rattles,
with excitement, accrued within whirls,
she prances and dances within circles, all flashing,
to reach her prince charming, was truly so dashing, her hair rolled up in a tight fitting bun,
As she swirled up to reach her finale, twas said,
she was here no longer, she was truly dead,
she deceased many years, hence past,
For every so often her vengeance she cast,
Prince so vain, found another sweet lover,
left her alone with her pain,
left her mark on the spot,
where her true love stopped,
Gave her no attention,
well too little to mention,
took her life with such a harsh knot,
when the moon is bright, on one sorrowful night,
She'd appear to dance for the crowds,
The watchers looked on, not terrified, by the sight of the tragic flamenco bride!

A weekend of wonderful words exchanged,
Words written on the bus to books being read,
To tales of ghosties and ghoulies and Poe,
In darkness and brightness,
Feeding two wordy heads,
As we rest in my bed,
Hard to believe that many will ever know,
The impact of words in poetry or prose,
Maybe I guess only you and  I care,
Apart from our friends dotted everywhere,
One day soon we'll be together again,
To revel in words of pleasure and pain,
Until that sweet day, which won't be too long,
In our poetic hearts we both belong!

Last Day of the Fool!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
On a dreary day it dawned,
When the sky turned black,
You were gone in the silence of an April *****,
Their April fool was done,
The silly old man so lacking in humour,
Had caught the last boat home,
The morning creaked open with tears in it's eyes,
Not his or theirs,
The sky just cried in a river of a daddy's goodbye!

This is for my father, we never really got on.....
He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about two weeks before he died.
He had a heart attack and died instantly....absolute relief I think....
He wasn't really a *****...he was just controlled by all around him **

Expected Death!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Arrival final destination,
Welcome to Huntsville you see,
Enter by the back door,
Then you go to eat,
Traditional fare, if you like,
Burger wrapped in blood,
The blood red of ketchup, matches the blood on your hands,
You are young, dressed in virtual innocence,
Do the crime, you do the time,
Is it worthy of eternity,
Since break of day you wait,
Waiting for impending death,

6 P.M
It is the evening of your darkest day,
For vile sin, with life you pay,
What thoughts traverse through your young head,
As tears trickle and pleas long gone,
For clemency calls rolled onto deaf ears,
You were the big man so they said,
A victim of cruel circumstance,
Collared by forensic drift,
Evidence grabbed,
Poor boy,

At a cost of $86.08,
more than you made on that fateful day,
Led to the gurney in shackles and chain,
Chains weighed heavier than conscience,
Conscience ****** your frightened brain,
Are you moved for your final confession,
Ideal for the papers for in a press release,
The last words he did say,
'Thank God for giving me life, see you soon,
Sir, For it's my final day,
Of course, I forgot you know that anyway',
I'm Sorry, so sorry, Father forgive me,

Waited almost a lifetime for this his final day,
The row of death so welcoming,
The great escape maybe,
Visage of executioner,
Looks deep into your soul,
While you stare vacantly into his eyes,
The ultimate sensation of pain as the needle quickly enters your vein,
As nerve endings and your body die,
Reflection of immaturity,
Bad life, sad life, consequence of situation,
No life had, no love lost!

Last Dance!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
In a last emotional csardas,
A hurry dashed in hectic trip,
From the sidewalk as she slipped,
Icy kerb afronts her eyes,
Slipped in front of cargo truck,
After a darkened dawn,
Of much deliberation,
Had enough insanity's pain,
Stage one, a drowse in melancholy,
In dream state,
She knew she had to go,
Made last retreat in sorrow's march.
Life became a chore,
Wanted it no more,

From melancholy stroll she rushed,
Stage two in dance's wild entrance,
Under the truck in disregard,
Felt the fender hit her hard,
Nothing else remained,
Except her disregard,
For driver,
The fear he felt trying to drop his speed,
Scarred for life by her own selfish deed,
Take this as a cautionary tale,
For this is write of fantasy,
May be feeling life is an evil curse,
Give help a chance,
May take a while,
Every cloud shrouded in darkness,
Conceals a new bright light,
Not always so forthcoming,
But, things will turn out right!

A Csardas is a Hungarian dance in two stages
I wrote this as a result of many train journeys to work being disrupted by desperate people throwing themselves in front of the train! It affects the driver, the passengers, and lots of others...no I'm not being harsh...trying to remind sad people that things do improve.
I'm afraid I don't do religion, but my regards to those who do **

The Widow Woman!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Dawn of sorrow's realisation,
It dawned on her that he was gone,
Wiped heartfelt teardrops from yesterday's loving eyes,
In a memory of youthful passion,
Once blessed with morning sun,
Their teen love changed,
It blossomed and flowered,
Struggles and fights,
Emotional pleasures,
A love that had grown was pure,
Beyond all measures,
In their treasury of sweet design,
Dreams had built into solidarity,
Two different people,
Together as one,
In odd arguments of passion,
The rocky tops climbed,
The torrents of the rapids faced with full aplomb,
To love together, now and ever through life's wildest storm,
He's gone now, slipped life's mortal chains,
Her tears flow,
But she still knows,
In her soul he shall always remain,
The pain will lessen along with the grief,
But a space in her she will always keep,
Longevity of love is eternal,
Changes in quantity,
Quality undressed,
From a lifelong love story,
The one she married always remembered best!

In a luscious crushed iced mocha,
Cream as it's wonderful peak,
Top of my mountain of mischief,
The wonderful delicious iced mocha,
Dwelling in my heaven filled mug,
All crushed up with love,
Negate the love,
It's from commercial enterprise,
My heartfelt want, my one desire.....
To have a mocha machine of my own, to sate my wild desire!

Evading Sleep!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Sleeping undeniably is a keen idea,
Weeping in solitude,
As angels keep my eyes slightly ajar,
Sometimes drifting off it seems,
Never very far,
My head lead weight,
My heart sweet love decried,
Wish sleep's pure embrace,
To cradle me,
To keep me safe from harm

Sits on her chair rocking,
All a pretense, not a care in the world,
Should the world outside believe it,
Maybe not,
Drug abuse and over used,
Left her a ******,
Or did it,
She's really rather clever,
But only when she wants,
Her mind is fried,
That's how it comes across,
She is deep in a tragic destiny,
Where she remains entrenched,
Has no desire for normality,
It's really all a chore,
Has no care about her hair,
Normality is a total bore,
Her dress sense sadly missing,
She's a mess,
Lost her family,
All grown,
As geese they've flown,
How she ever managed no-one will ever know,
She has a gang of rebels,
Running on a power trip,
They are really stable,
Mother's just a case.....,
A box of frogs in eccentricity,
Probably her age,
Defiant till her dying day,
Now she wants to make amends,
Her children are her enemies ,
She wants to retrieve them,
To keep them as her friends!

Mother Dear!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Mother Dear,
She sat as she rocked in her chair,
Not a gift of age,
A gift of lunacy,
Hard life she had,
Always caught by conscience sparks,
Within a memory,
Fragmented windows left shards,
Dug into her heart,
A broken life of memories past,
Where no-one knew and never asked,
What left her there,
Just passed teenage intervention,
Much too vile to mention,
The fatherless child,
Fearless,
He bought up her kids,
Now brings up his own...,
While she sits and she rocks,
Talking to the clocks,
Sadly watching her life slip away,
Before her eyes,
No more to die for,
Even less to cry for she sighs!

Hobby Horse!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
The hobby horse it bolted,
To him I'm still attached,
Bumping along the gravel track,
My arms are torn to ribbons,
My head is sorely hurt,
Hobby horse was just a game,
Grey corduroy head bowed low,
A matter of respect ,
I'm told,
It's neckerchief of gingham was checked in red and white,
Caught him on a bramble bush as I went flying by,
It poked him smartly in the eye,
Never saw what was going on,
His brain was made of fluff,
His heart was made of solid wood,
He wasn't always very good,
He was a dashing fellow,
His slender body pole,
Painted florescent yellow,
So all could see him coming,
He was just my favourite hobby horse,
Of course!

Coupled?
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Two of a kind we are,
It is not admitted tho, again,
As if we tumbled backwards,
Back to where we were,
In a complexity of character,
As if it never fitted,
Angels support us as we drift down life's balmy river,
Not balmy, barmy more like,
A pair of lost souls,
Floating on our life support,
Saved by poetry, in whose net we're caught,
A dream became a nightmare....unable to escape,
Only way out poetry, for she saved us both,
The only thing worth having,
The only thing that's left,
She is awesome she is the main event,
Keeps us safe from being wrapped up in a spider's web,
Of gossamer, constructed of red tape,
Finances **** and pillage us.......
With all these financial burdens we're bereft!

Lesson!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
What you give is what you get,
You learn to live, not to regret,
When fashion dresses life,
She just wears the current trend,
When love she sits there waiting,
For emotion to reach it's sorry end,
Defiant in a fireball,
On her and her alone,
The real lady, one on whom you may depend,
The other our sweet poetry,
Is riding on a wave,
Not sinking,
Never ever,
No extinguishing,
Not a doubt,
The spark became ignited,
Lighting up the dark,
Maybe the strange things that we say,
And weird stuff that we do,
Fits with life's agendas,
As one and one make two and poetry makes three,
You and I invincible,
Happy but forever free!

Destiny!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
In a destiny of drivel,
Scraped shreds of darkened paint,
Dressed with nicotine from a saddened wall,
Peeled scraps of paper,
Tumbling to oblivion,
As they fall,
From a dirge of misery,
Screaming violently in violence felt,
An offense of soul,
Alive.....a spirit of indignity,
Sails the seven seas,
Travels anywhere he can to breach his misery,
In his heart,
No presence of delight,
Will not go down without screaming,
In full flight on waxen wings,
Dashing past the moon....
Love is given infinite,
From passions silver spoon.

Permanent Night!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
In land of dark depression in hollow hills, an emptiness,
Where only pain can dwell,
Engulfed in land of loneliness where only night time lives,
A night that lives with out bounds,
The heart of my land is astounded,
Pressure takes you by the hand,
It's tormented as heat sears with blisters,
Scarring blisters deep as a myriad of agony,
Compelled to rip my being out
Escaped from a tormented river,
That longs to flow,
Be free,
Feeds your eyes with needles,
You're blind,
Unable to envisage the detriment,
Which is sneaking slowly by,
Too melancholy to cry,
To unhappy to grieve,
In this life of poignancy,
~Burdened by undesirable load~

Fireworks!
In such a razzle dazzle fireworks flash and bash in vibrancy,
In a spectral aura of contorted colours,
Stars sparkling, noisily highlighting the sky,
Release the Gods of chaos, as on the sparks they fly,
Amid a colour scheme supreme, a total fascination,
In an argument inopportune as fireworks hit home,
In a firework of a love-struck soul my body is vibrating,

Travel on a firework fly beyond the moon,
For on a pyrotechnic dream, embark beyond those stars,
Saw rowdy fireworks the day I met you,
Still seeing them now, those flashes,
For in my heart those fireworks are popping still,
Wish I could ride upon a rocket to be with you today,
Make the fireworks flash in procession,
Let the marching band play on!

Should We?
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Leaving is simple and staying is sin,
Battles flags flying,
Both out to win,
Our spirits are wild and long to run free,
As darkness dances on,
We walk into the light,

Bring me your sweet love,
On a pure silver platter,
I really do care,
You really do matter,
If only you let me in,
I'll bring you delight,
For I am pure angel,
Heart crystal white,

You are my darkness,
Seems at hell's gate you dwell,
No desire to be there,
You are stuck,
Memories in mind left shadows,
And mindless shadows keep you trapped,

For as I wait to sleep,
Unable to rest.................,
My head flies into irrational passion,
Passion's spilling over,
I detest feeling so vacant,
So my cup doth overflow,
Both detest feeling so vacant,
Question needing answer,
Should we stay or should we go?

Hell!

Know not what's going on, for in a nightmare of fear remains,
An ignorance of understanding painted with a stippled brush,
Messages left go to the grave,
Dashed in unmentionable silence,
Element of ignorance,
Rips stomach out with heart and soul,
Quest of questions without response,
Internal volcano fluctuates,
Preparing to erupt as spot of poison hits the surface,
In manic explosive, silent mode,
As nausea attacks!

Screaming as a banshee,
Wailing at the gates of hell,
Wanting to come in,

Unable to preserve,
Sanity and dignity,

Good Morning Clouds!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
My eyes were given light cloud cover painted on bright blue,
Thought for just one moment that Da Vinci left his brushes there,
He'd painted alabaster stripes round bright morning sky, when in spirit form he'd danced,
Then I surveyed the sky again,
Realisation arose,
White paint brushes,
Looked more like rollers made of sheepskin in the sky,
In fluent streaks,
A flurry of excitement,as they painted morning sky,
They have cleared now entirely,
My morning sky's just blue,
There's not a cloud to spoil my view....
Guess it's time for barbeque !

Had to play silly at the end, Guess I'm daft as a brush! Whatever became of my profound poetic write! Livvi x

My life is a play,
Each day a scenario,
For I feel I live in a dream each day,
Life is a fantasy of description,
In richness and in wealth,
Encounter every issue,
Face every stumbling block that's met,
In a fetching encapsulating image of imagination,
My life has been a tragedy, a drama of life entwined,
From goodness and joy to darkened caves,
A drama from whence whose demons,
Now vacated my mind!

Bus Trip!

On the bus I heard a fellow decrying Americans at war,
Said all were yellow bellied cowards,
I found this most distasteful,
Wanted to bite him , to lash him with my tongue,
To unwrap a box of disrespect,
Tell him not to generalise,
To speak out about causing such offence,
From discussion of cowardice,
He digressed to general sundry,
The price of fish and wages,
Along with the price of beer,
Felt sorry for the mousy wife,
Who never marked his card,
To get a word in edge ways would have been extremely hard!
I am an English woman thought this so unfair!

Why wear a band of gold,
Which signals entrapment,
Had one once before,
Weighed a ton around my neck,
Metaphorically of course,
It's hold was one so powerful weighed me down,
Took my breath away.

Not been dazzled by diamonds and rubies,
Not even blown by pearls,
I seek no earthly riches,
Like many other girls,
Sooner, have a lover I can cherish and adore,
Where we can be together as one,
Living apart for ever more,

In solace of a silver ring upon my finger placed,
Much more significance,
I feel.......,as an honest caring lady,
I am the real deal.

A non-entity in mental state,
A spirit I'm not there,
I sit alive deliberating if I'm really here,
The day is passed, when we spoke last,
Must be using different tongues,
Sat here in a vacant void,
Wondering what I've done,
Nothing at all, I'm sure,
Think a whole lot more,
I know that headphones obscure that noisy world outside,
When only music fills your head,
I'm waiting just outside,
Where I shall still sit and wait,
Patiently......

A whisper in the silence,
It's the grass having some fun,
Rustling in the sunshine,
It's only just begun,
So long it's getting tangled ,
In many tongues it's twisted,
For on the breeze it's playing,
Her lies she spreads mischievously,
She tells them to the tree,

Through the green a mismatch of fairy folk creep,
Weaving magic through their hidey holes,
The place in which they sleep,
The toadstools all have frogs on,
They're catching butterflies for tea,
In the midday sun they feed,
Dragon flies are blowing fire,
illuminating summer skies,
While the grass still stands up messy,
Telling all it's lies,

Workhorses!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
These beasts of burden with their potent power,
They plough the fields for hours and hours,
Working for the farmer,
Never do they complain,
Strolling through the vineyards,
Harvesting next seasons grapes,
Time and time again,
While Amish farmers use theirs gifts and treat them tenderly,
In all their bridle wear,
Made in traditional way,
Left over gifts from these gentle giants,
Their deposits natural,
Have been used to heat and build a dwelling, if not somewhat smelly,
While keeping gardens blooming in a most productive way,
Some of the many things a workhorse does in a day,

Workhorses they also dwell in city life,
While walking through the city streets,
Mingling with the passers by,
Or controlling the traffic,
As part of forces supporting royalty,
Through regal processions,
Walking boldly proudly through a cacophony of drum beat sounds,
In a disturbing row,
All this noise and full furore,

Please respect these fine beasts,
Brethren of our world,
Poetry in motion as with such grace they move,
One thing for sure,
they can help us save our world with their minimal emissions!

Dying!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
In a distant land,
Where the skies hung bedecked in ebony,
With dust clouds strung across the firmament,
Fierce and truly black,
Festooned with the souls of the ancient dead,
From dark worlds they have been evoked,
And so they come,
Their battle banners flying,
Blowing in the once deserted wind.
Deceased came back vengeful,
Their trumpets blaring loud,
From the fields fire from once the demons danced,
Where the devil threw his summons through sulphureous stench of torrid bubbles,
Came to arrest the sullied living to stockpile their immortal souls,
Escort them to forever,
To the land they'll never sleep,
These dripping faces of the these putrescent souls, not yet disintegrated,
Had become mummified, as if sorcery compelled a hand in death's immortal,
defiant alliance.
It was as they knew they would have to hearken to deaths's fatal curtain call!

Haunted!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
As I stir this morning thoughts invade my head,
Haunted by mental images of such insanity,
In the morning as the light shines through,
Believe that I am missing you,
My being's torn,
I'm ripped apart,
Well probably not that severe,
Slight exaggeration from poetic imagination,
Give me a bell when you get my gist,
Cos you know you're sorely missed!

Happy Birthday!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Happy birthday darling baby girl,
The youngest one of four,
Made it to 19 today,
A year to go until you clear a score,
When born you were not very pretty,
A strange creature with huge feet,
You grew and grew, grew some more,
Until a beauty walked through my door,

Now you've branched out on your own,
Got your own lovely home,
By this time next year you'll have a baby of your own,
With in the love of your life,
One day soon he'll make you his wife,
So on this day I send I you sweet love,
Happy day and many more,
Heartfelt love from poetic mum!

Poetic Brain!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
What is it in a poet's brain that makes us what we are,
It is a seek of imagery,
In everything we see,
And in everything we do,
Amazing what we can do with blue,
What we can do with precious stones,
All us poets understand!

It is having an emotive heart to feed our art with fire,
An eye to see,
A mind to dream,
To live in virtual fatasy,
Interpretation's everything,
Unlock the door to using pen,
When you look and look again!

Write what you see,
See what you write,
Never found anything else with such might,
My pen, my notepad and computer fight,
In a battle none will never win,
For I write my heart and soul,
My only wish,
Is that the images I create,
Can be visualised by the reader too,
It is my one and only goal!

Intrigue!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
What an intriguing opportunity a trip to Rose Cottage,
Sure sounds magical to me,
It's not a woodland haven or a diminutive house by the shore,
Came out from anaesthetist's trip,
I drifted, in and out,
A crazy dream it seemed,
Woke in rose pink room,
Thought I hadn't made it through,
For in the land of work,
A flip side of such a romantic image seen,
Rose Cottage, delightful though it sounds is life's penultimate stop called mortuary,
Before undertaking on one final trip,
Final destination, last stop guaranteed!

I wrote this as I left work after work and heard a porter discussing coming to take a patient to 'Rose Cottage'......It made me think....Hence writing this....and the anaesthetic bit is true...Freaked me out at the time!! Livvi **

A SONG FOR THE SWANS
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
For this is a swan song.
A final curtain call.
Never seen a dead swan lain on the river bank.
Wondering where they go to die.
A sweet song for swans written.
An exercise in eloquence.
Bedecked in full white plumage.
In elegance she glides, as they glide, a family.
With their swan lake family.
Pen floats next to cob swan with cygnets dancing alongside.
Protected creatures cosseted, for Ma'am of the realm.
These ugly ducklings grew into quilted passions.
A passion of beautiful aggression is what we will receive.
Should we stupidly disturb?
These beauteous, arrogant tranquil birds.

The Loony Man March!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
The loony chap struts in a mania of hurry,
So dashing,
Not as fairy tale prince,
His catatonic stance enhanced when standing static in panic mode,
Paranoid eyes cut like steel,
Quick and clean, untarnished though he's rather old,
The stranger passing down the street has a love affair with his can,
For they will never part......,
Another poor sod lives deep inside his pickled head!

Annoying!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Heading to the land of town,
On my face I wear a frown,
Not my usual silly smile,
Was going to cruise around the world this morning,
Okay, maybe slight exaggeration,
Would still be staying in this fine nation,
Where I could find you, be your girl,
Still instead all forces conspired,
Feeling stressed a little wired,
A week off denied,
She sat and she cried,
Bit tragic, to not be there and miss our magic,
Still one of those silly things,
Will be back in two or three hours,
At least for today I can write,
To write about true love, darkness and flowers,
The joy of work and all it brings!

A Smile in Time!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Behind the smile lurks insecurity,
Within the eyes hid pain,
All living there insidiously,
Within the heart lay dreams,
Visual images that in head space dwell,
Seen when the body is awake,

When the clock ticks magic moments,
Resounding tick tock echoes,
Sounds all rattle through my brain,
Somewhat irrepressible,
The clock reminds me I'm alive,
Hearing all it's comments,

One thing I have noticed,
The clocks all sing in perfect time,
They start to sing so loudly,
Still in their perfect harmony,
When all alarms invade,
Announcing in their irksome serenade,
In unison screaming out in not so dulcet tones
Get up and make your tea....,
Very abruptly, very soon,
Another work day's calling thee!

Us!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Us!
An all consuming passion snatched us both from the gates of hell,
In a symphony of moonlight mood,
Dressed up in peach tranquility,
Soft and satin as downy touch,
Every day smiles,
For the sun coats me in your once vacant heart again,
Where you and I, as lovers run always free,
In a salient dalliance,
You and I dance,
In some kind of crazy harmony,

For sure I love you and sure you love me,
Your love is awesome,
Filled with respect, something that I shan't ever regret,
For I am your woman, your sweet baby,
Some kind of wonderful magic we weave,
We are entranced by this marvellous magic romance,
Silly we may be,
Stupid we're not, as we make the most of the chances we've got!

Thrill Seeking!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Doom empowers,
From darkness finding strength,
Deaths realms look so inviting,
Skips along the chasm edge,
Recklessly, maybe going to fall,
Voices from the molten core cry out,
Edging life's end towards the edge,
For a sheer stroke of thrill,
Ultimate goal to ****,
Perhaps a fall into oblivion,
Can only be obsessed,
Maybe just depressed,
The chasm voices fallen silent,
All can hear the wind,
Calling corrupt,
Tempts innocence to fly awry,
For a shot of reckless fun!

The River's Dead!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Looking down at mudflat river,
Remnants of life,
Where the water's running low,
Imagining looking at the once white weir of dizziness, now dry,
Hell on earth,
Where did it go,
To some the touch of summer sun brings intense, immense delight,
But for now, the river's teeming life,
Once abundant sits redundant,
Desperation shown in it's desperate sorrow without tears,
Two last fish flounder gasping for fresh water's tender kiss,

Summer sun brings treasure as leisure times are cherished lazing on the grassy banks,
With the one who fills my hearts desire,
While glory skies are filled with fire,
As we loll on the bank, soaking up her solar rays on scorching red hot July days,
Much disregard for essence of life itself!

Paint the Sky!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Paint the sky with starlight,
Dotted from a spray so bright,
In variant scopes of spectrum light,
While in my mind she plays,
Navy of a night time, for the wrap of night is dressed,
As she stands static,head bowed,
Praying for daylight after night lights gone,
Watch her as she starts to pray for morn' that she created,
Espy her dawn streaked peachy sky, dressed in saline wash,
As it rains again insane,
On a clear day, what do you see,
Pure lure of azure blue,
Delighted as she missed the rain again,
Rainy days are such a pain!

An Unexpected Gift!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
An Unexpected Gift!

A donation received, from heaven sent,
When angels dropped you in my lap,
I'd wandered,stumbling along the way,
Until you came that winters day,
When my feelings became blessed,
You caught me as a butterfly,
Fragile as a love song, carried on a hurricane,
Whirling, swirling, easily broken,
I'm lost, I'm blown away!

Painful!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Painful!

His pain kissed hers with gentleness,
Tried hard to make her better,
Pain bought sullen tears again,
She's feeling slightly better,
In their pain they dance together,
A duet in loves garden,
Her teardrops soothed by lacy handkerchief,
Held in her lovers hand,
Caught on a summer breeze,
Zephyr warmed their pain away,
While they spun upon the grass,
Her in sparkling emeralds,
In a dress of passion's hue,
Smiling in contentment,
As true love smiled down,
Spread love and flowers all around!

Sheer Lunacy!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
The man sits in the corner,
A demonstration of madness,
Presented in a song
Rocking like a metronome,
Twiddling his hair,
Teases it through his wild fingers,
Tawny nest sits upon his head,
His crowning glory,
Well beyond pacifying,
Wishes he was dead,
Tried so many times, never with success,
Conversations with them who are not there,
He cowers,
Bombarded with external influence,
Lost in a solitary selfish world with only self for company,
He wants no-one,
Needs no-one,
His head and heart brimming with negativity,
No life outside his saddened house,
He conceals himself as terrified,
Of everything he finds outside,
No happiness will greet him,
While in his tragic world of fantasy he dwells!

Me, Myself, I !
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Me, Myself, I!

Me,
I have no English Degree,
That's why my writes are scatty,
My grammar is appalling,
Tragically punctuation lacks,
Swallowed a dictionary,
Ate it for me tea,
Thesaurus is the baby,
Cos getting my words in context bothers me,
Still I love to write,
Sometimes morning noon and night,
My structuring of poetry,
Leaves tons to be desired,
Still I find my poetry keeps my heart on fire!

Stars!
Olivia Kent Aug 2013
Cloak of navy obscures my vision,
Where in my room I sit,
Electric lamp light sparkles,
Soon to be put off ,
Wait patiently,
Try to stay awake,
For tonight the glory heavens will be illuminated,
As entrancing shooting stars dash across the sky,
Dancing as they shower,
Painting tales of wonder while they rush,
Across the skies,
To infinity........x
