By the river I meandered .
Ducks quacked their racket.
Accompanied in harmony by female child.
The sound in tune with nature's perfect bloom.
Moorhen drifted over water.
Dipped his head then he was gone.
Dogs ran in unison together.
Different breeds as one.
Having so much fun.
Dogs spread their bark all over the park.
As bark flakes off from the trees.

The willows crudely wept their tears.
And the Poplars only trembled more.

Got to the spot of our dragon fly.
Nobody's here.
All that's here are memories.
River's still not got much of a flow.
Her water's flowing mud and silt.

Fishers still stand on the Sunday bank.
Depositing nothing but lines.

And here am I stood on the spot.
Where this poem first began.
Where for a brief moment.
I was your woman
For another brief moment.
You were my man.

In eloquent silence I stand.
Watching the world go by.
Conversing with the naked trees.
Bare and exposed like me.

There's a chill here in this place.
It's felt in my words as they kiss my face.

Sat on the fence as I muse.
As me, myself, and I amuse.
The litter of displaced leaves on the ground.
Memories lost.
Memories found.
Too chilly to rest by the stream.
With a heart so chilled indeed.
And now the pub calls and I'm going for dinner.

Eaten now.
I stopped and bade our spot goodbye.
Homeward bound with a tear in my eye,
Watching two ducks having a row.
Perhaps those ducks were you and I!

Muppets and Marionettes!
Olivia Kent Dec 2013
Don't turn the lights out on my life.
So soon.
My rather crazy friend.
I am not your loving wife.
I'm nobody's muppet.
And you're not a puppet.

We're sat on the gate.
Not on the fence.
May the gate re-open if not totally broken.
Sat on the fence.
Not waiting to fall.

Should be dispelling busted hate.
No need for you to hate me mate.
For you're free now.
Though the times we spent together were really great.

I'm no cow.
As a ruminant perhaps.
I chew on the cud.
Regurgitate.
In an awful sad and crazy state.
I'm not crazy at it happens.

The times we spent together were really great.
You and I.
Now relishing precious time on my own.
For I am your puppy and you are my bone.

Lament to Sunday Lunch!
Olivia Kent Dec 2013
For I must go and wash my floor.
Ignore the phone.
Don't hear the the door.

Wipe away.
Yesterday's greasy dirge.
Mopped up in a tick.
Purge memories.
Of yesterday spilled.

Wash **** away in an instant.
The ***** washing up in the sink.
It made me halt.
Stop dead in my tracks and think.
And think again.

What 's the purpose of being here.
For the sake of those I hold so dear.
A cleaner and a bottle washer.
Not a cook,
So I shan't bother.
Eating out.
Modern thing to do.

So at lunchtime I shall go to the pub.
To have a roast dinner.
Such super grub.
Super grub with no bugs to bear.
I'm not washing up.
So I don't care!

Cyniscism!
Olivia Kent Dec 2013
Is life just one long sick practical joke.
Angels seek the living.
Just to choke them with their holy smoke.
Get born.
Be reliant.
In growth so defiant.

Marriage is an institution.
Leads to mental institutions.
When as parent strict.
Raise them with rods of iron.
Or maybe kid gloves.
But abuse them not.

Financially amuse them!
You work to chuck them all your dosh.
As if you always have enough.
Then when your money.
That you earned.
You have the audacity to spend.
They make you feel floods of guilt.
You feel like you're not their friend.
In a lifetime game of let's pretend.

Start to ache as you grow old.
Besmirch your comments as you write.
Believing youth.
Gives them the right.
To laugh at she of poetry.
Who once bounced them upon her knee.
Now decried for gifted brains.
Jotted in eccentricity.

And then how dare she.
She goes and dies.
Oh well, save your tears.
As no-one cries!~

I Miss You!
Olivia Kent Dec 2013
I Miss You!

Today I walked along the path.
Where in the summertime we lay.
Watching planes scoot through summer skies.
Watching sapphire dragon flies.
Beauty blessed on the wing.

Today I touched the leaves of oak.
Discarded by the autumn breeze.
When I felt the leaves.
I felt you too.

The leaves have fallen.
Crispy now.
No furry coats.
Just cold and damp.
I kick the litter of the leaves.
In memory of what you left behind.

Today I realise.
How much I miss you so.
The dragonflies have died.
Drifted off through winters chill.
I'm sure the summer warmth.
Hazy.
Will bring forth their kith and kin.

Darling,
Love me one more time before we crash and burn.
In words you spoke to me.
Never love a poet.
They will set you free.

Darling.
With this sweet sentiment.
I whole heartedly agree.
Except with natures blessings
When poetess and poet man.
Slip together.
So Naturally!

Winter Sands!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
It's winter again.
Can't work out.
Why would I walk.
On,
This cold beach front sand.
Barefoot, I walk.
Enjoying the air.
Not a care in the world.
Smell the seaweed.
Feel the icy tide lap over my toes.
The thrill of the chill.

Look at the wet wood,
Drifted on to the shore.
Cracked so much.
It's looking sore.
Touch it.
Feel the heaviness.

Think, this wood is newly discarded.
Maybe from a shore side stroll .
The dog buried the wood just under the hole.

The vendors of sweet ices still pretend.
That shoreline's graced with sun.
It's not.
The only way to earn a crust.
That these poor folks have got.
Hear them discussing that trade is disgusting.

Debating a change in their wares.
Maybe just maybe nobody cares.
Burgers and hot dogs.
May make things better.
While the sand gets colder.
And it's very much wetter.

Winter sands so peaceful.
Only thing seen is the lonely dog walker.
Going to deposit the next piece of wood.
To drift of into the sea.

Precious!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Today and Everyday.
I bathe in your honour.
Wallow in your warming touch.
Sometimes hiding from your chill.
But you are always there.
Stroking me.
You catch me unawares.
Unless I lose you for a moment.

I cannot live without you.
Never ever
You fill my lungs with life.
Aware you are always around.
Without you,
I should perish.
Of that,
I have no doubt.

So many need to share you.
Too many want you.
For you are not just mine.
First gasp of the infant precious.
Blooming into life.
Blessed to live again.
Breathe in the air!

Soulful?
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
A soulful being in an empty shell.
Once thought it was a wishing well.
The dashed world then crushed her on the rocks.
In tales she sang to the sea.

In ribbons of water she swam and she sang.
A chorus of whales sing their hallowed song in vibrations.
As they danced with her at the waters edge.
Joining her in her tragic lament.

Where nobody hears because nobody wants to.
Thus is the way of the uncaring world.
There in the world where Old Nick took control.
And Saint Nick.
Well ,he just lived in a childhood dream!

Classless?
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Who.
Is this being alone and alive.
Not posh.
A usual female.
That she is not.
An idiots' brain,
That she has not .
Just unaware.
Who she is.
Or what she's meant to be.
She finds drunks, skunks and rampant punks.

A few with words in common.
So,
Just where does she fit.
In a world of made up pleasantries.
Generally full of it.
Her real life full of imbeciles.

She is really down to earth.
Dug them up.
Hell she is no snob.
Needs another with a brain.
Not just another flipping ****!

Converges with the low life's.
Making them believe they matter.
Increasing being snooty if needed.
Looking down her snotty nose.
In truth she is the same.

Heavens be praised.
They fell back in the mire.
Where all the dreams fell.
Enough time spent with drunks and skunks.
Don't know where I'm supposed to fit.
Guess no-one knows.
The crux of it.
Hell who gives a f**k!

Olivia Kent Nov 2013
You are one so beautiful.
Beautiful before my eyes.
I caress thee only with mine eyes.
Only.,
With my words.
I long to touch you once again.

Loss of you caused so much pain.
Burning yearning.
Heavenly touch.
Her ultra violet dress of satin.
Cracked.
Crept in haze of neon light.
Of the,
He.
Who once was.
Or maybe not.

From her plateau at the top of the world.
Hair shining in the sun.
She speaks to the wind.
Wails to the rain.
Maybe they shall meet again.
Another place.
Another time.
Where memories fresh may be created.

Never Ever!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Never ever date a lady poet.
With such imagination sparkling in her eyes.
Don't ever love a poetess.
With bands of roses round her head.
For she'll throw your life in turmoil.
You will never forget her.
Her with words of tempered steel.
Will state out loud just how she feels.

She will not want to marry you.
She wants not anyone.
For deep within the gift of words this widow's truly spun.
Should you win her heart.
You must keep it safe till both grow old.

Be bold if she inspires you.
Igniting true love fires.
Carried by words in bolts of lightning.
Hear her words as as thunder ringing.
Afore those eyes that read.

A fire that only true love feeds.
Compliment her on her choice.
The woman with the written voice.
In dulcet tones of silence, a writ.
She will pick up her pen.

Write once,
Write twice, then only she will write again.

Take in hand a poetess.
With her cruise the universe.
Never let true love be terse.
You may find that she pens a verse.
She's not averse to love.

Her,
She only dreams of heaven.
Twas lost love that made her write.
From many years ago once lost.
The beautiful poetess.
Secrets of pain hide.
Hid behind those brightly sparking.
Twinkling eyes!

As A!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
As a poem made of diamonds.
Unbreakable and ancient.
All in a collection of long lost dreams.
Fading into insignificance.
Much too fast
As enduring a love .
So meant to last

As a shadow.
She wrote deep on your wall.
Engraved dense in your heart.
Scribbled over your soul.
A soul with a hole.

A whole soul sold out.
Drilled out with a pencil.
That can be used.
Never be broke.
Written in words.
But never abused.

Not for abusing.
In words just amusing.
In poems fired up with passion of magic.

As a lady in waiting, patiently.
For him to come home from his war.
As an entirety of the being .
He was before.
The vacant face in his empty space.
Her face is not empty.

As a glowing warmth.
As a blessing in disguise.
As a hole in his world.
Needing filling with care.
Without eating away at him.
His,his cute princess.
Won't get in his hair.

Claret filled the bleeding heart.
Glass fragile.
Shattered.
Bread was broken.
Shared with friends.

In love of God.
A celebration of the gift given.
From the lord of all.
The gift was love herself.

Angels kisses touched the blessed.
Those who spoke the words of lords.
Love should be the celebration.
For without love.

No more children would be born.
Not products of imagination.
Products of blessed emotions evocation!

Tumbled!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Took a massive tumble into love.
She lost it.
A dream imploded in a moment.
No second thoughts were given.
Without so much a streak of grace.
A delicate love it was.
She lost her pretty face.
Her heart was taken with it.
Tender as a cotton ball.

Then all his love she lost it.
Drifted on the summer's air.
In a fluff a puff of poison blast.
Spores of tragic fate.
Destroyed by destiny.

A tragic loss of one on one.
They said that one and one made two.
They were wrong.
Guess one and one made one.
She so wants the world to end.
For she cannot make amends.

Early Days Education!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
In deafening silence the clangers spilled their blue string soup!
While inTrumpton the boys in the fire station rang their fire bells.
The miller was windy in Camberwick Green.
And Bill and Ben.
Well they lived in a grass fuelled happy hippy scene.
With a sweet lady called ****!

Hector lived in his house of fun.
Where he enjoyed his little *****. Zsa Zsa her name,
Gabor perhaps.
Bonjour, one funny frog, amphibian named Kiki.
Hector well he was a dog!

In the garden of the herbs.
Lived a jolly friendly chap.
A lion called Parsley.
What a crazy name was that.
The owl, well he was a sage.
A seer of things to come.
Bourgeoisie in the garden.
Sir Basil and Lady Rosemary.
A pair of toffs with taste!

And they wonder why today.
We poets have a vivid imagination.
Wasn't due to taking drugs.
Was the influence of T.V. on our fair English nation!

Dawning Maiden!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Orb of light rose in the east.
Jade blue sea sparkled.
Glistening at dawn.
Atmospheric scent of the sea.

Laid on the shoreline in relaxation.
A maiden.
Glimmering hair of gold.
Splayed as fan across the rocks.
Hair stroking the rock pools.
As she found her rest.
Where dwell her marine friends.

Relishing dawn's tranquility.
Magical moments.
Self-assured in their silence.

He staggered, bladdered.
Night on town complete.
Where beautiful lady he did meet.
Stumbled across her.
In drunken totter.

She felt his presence.
Was not required.
Breach of peace and quiet.
The powers that be then set her free.

He looked up again she was gone.
The beachfront carved with marks peculiar.
As the sea did give the maiden lure.
Seduced the mermaid, oh so pure.

The Truth of the Matter! (Eye Surgery!)

Sparkling peepers.
Window to the soul.
Something wrong with eyes of green.
Blue or brown.

Got a problem.
Visit your medic man or lady.
Need a little surgery.
Get your pretty peepers fixed.

Go into the clinic room.
Feeling scared.
What will the medic do.
How will it be proceed.

In the gloomy room afraid.
Docs going to scoop your eye out.
Operate with it laying on your cheek.

Have no fear my dear.
It's all pure fantasy.

It is a physical impossibility.
The nerve controlling vision.
Is really much too short.

Indeed your gorgeous eyes of passion.
Can certainly be removed.

In a process that's ' enucleation.'
The actual name for it.
Truth of the matter when eye removed.
Will pop like soggy gel.

She will fall again.

As Icarus.
She cruised the sun.
Only for a moment pure.

In memory,the despised lepidoptera.
Wings ripped in three.
Shreds of vanished memory.
Flies on ripped silent wings no more.
Carried on a breeze of tears.
On wings so sore.
Only the breeze can fly.
Before the ripping of the wings.
Was once sweet symmetry.

A waste of years of plentiful wishes.
Wanton.
Risque.

In expectation excited.
Fed fire with fire.
Long since smouldered.
Flaming desire tragic.
The sorcery dispersed.
The heart of broken magic.

Should the hate crack on.
Smash not the crystal casket.
In which the lady sleeps.
Eternally weeps in silence.
Cost of lost love.
Mourns the cost.
Of love forgot.
While sweet angel sleeps!

Resting Friendship!

Silver armour,
Please protect the heart that can not die.
Angel wings.
Cosseted the lady fair,
Beautiful mind, already died.
Coronet of filigree.
Rests upon sweet ladies hair.

She lays in rest.
Always best.
The lady cared.
She dared to care.

Lady destroyed.
Oh lady sweet.
Rest in peace.
Sleep deeply.
Til sunshine dies in rain.

Glass casket.
Pray smash it not.
Lacking air protects her lips.
No ageing.
Cold skin.
Encased in scarlet velvet.

Please keep her heart safe within.
Protect her from evil.
Save her from mortal sin.
Because you can.
For you are not a mortal man.

When after the war,
Together they died.
Together the fallen.
The battered and torn.
Fallen heroes warred with scorn.
Let the scorn be gone.
Enemies no longer sworn!

Sad little cow.

Seasons.

Love grabbed the summertime.
Painted skin in shades of tan.
The melting beauty.
In the heat.
Dying in the river of time.

Bring forth autumn.
When love got caught.
Captured in leaves as they fell.
On the floor they lay.
Crisp and crunchy.
Colourful and loud.
Trampled.
Beneath the feet of fools.
Late autumn,
A bonfire of leaves.
Destroyed.
Just a pile of ash.

Thanksgiving feed.
Start of all festivities.
As noel arrives with white beard in tow.
The bells ring out for Christmas time.
Peace and love to one and all.

The mass of Christ be gone.
Daffodils breach the soil.
The year of the next slides in.
Spring on in.
The end of sorrow.
May the tragedies of the year past.
Be cured.
Treasury of memories grand.
Friends around the world.
Join hands in celebration.
True friendships renewed.
Pray let new beginnings.
Cruise on in.

Roots put down.
And a crack appeared through the window on the world.

No roses round the old oak door.
Spectacles crushed.
Visions spoiled.
Beauty of the planet tragically marred.

World herself speared on a javelin,
Invisible to the naked eye.
Sharp and clean and fresh.
The globe spins on another day.
Then death courts you.
Rips your heart away.

Tragedy!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Settle.
You have made a rash decision.
Thrown yourself away.
Take a chill pill.
Not literally I swear of course.
Put your head back on the level.
Put your feet back on the ground.
That does not mean, your  put your head upon the block.

In your sorrow
I do not revel.
Detest to see you in so many pieces.
I realise you're broken and hurting to bits.
Don't wipe yourself away.
Reinstate the poems that you've taken.

My friend a huge mistake you've made.
I know you have.
For the sake of cross wires.
Please don't crucify yourself inside.
Just rest and recover.
This has messed me, as much as thee.
Sweet man.

Reconsider your tragic actions so rash!

Oh heck.
There's a knife in his neck.
Wasn't really in his neck.
Stabbed him in the belly.
Saw it on the telly.

Seriously scary stuff.
Went to attend.
You know.
Being a friend to folks and all that.
Having the skill to instill a little confidence.
Maybe a little treatment.
First time I saw a stabbing.
Kind of heart grabbing.

Taken off to hospital in the back of medics vehicle.
Was all over the papers.
Yes it was it on t.v.
I never saw the reports.
I never saw it in the the papers, but there was a pic of me!

Livvi blows her own trumpet..LOL
And yes he survived!

Remain Sane!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Pick it up.
Lose it not.
Caring, not wrapped in a tissue.
Throw it not down the sewer.
Sew it up and fix it.
Going down inept response.

Lose not his head.
For he's not dead.
Wanting nothing.
Needing none.
Once trapped in web already spun.
As a discarded tissue forgiven.
She'll miss you.
But he's already gone.
Don't cry ask not why.
She just cares.

One month to Christmas.
So glad I'm not a turkey.
Doing the turkey trot.
That's foul.

Glad I'm not a goose on the loose.
Waiting to be stuffed.
Not a duck either.
Don't fancy that.
While sat there in my Christmas hat.

If I was Sirloin.
I'm sure I'd find a beef.
At the prospect of being munched.
Main course for some sad suckers,
Christmas lunch munch.
Don't want to be a piece of meat.
Perhaps I'll just eat leaves.

Maybe a mince pie .
I will walk with a wiggle.
Pull a Christmas *******.
Maybe get a little tiddled.
Lets all giggle.
And say,
Glad I'm not an edible bird.
Upon crisp Christmas day!

TLC!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
TLC!

Black night sky stippled with lights.
Falling in showers of passions delight.
Forest deep where lost dreams do live.

In the forest there can be found a treasure chest.
A golden chest.
Wherein dwell a collection of hearts.
Ripped out, but tied in sinewy *****.
Encased by perfect vessels.
Sent there for a spot of palliative care.

Abandoned by souls of lost lovers.
Romeo and Juliet's both stuck in there.
Still captured in love's young dream.

Maybe the souls of poets trapped.
We are a weird bunch.
Stranded inside the land of words.
In the land between light and dark.
Somewhere lost along the way.

Within our play on words.
Summed up in a pun.
Such fun.

Fancy a Little French!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Fancy a Little French!

Oops there goes another one.
Hear the whoosh and phut.
Hits the court.

A silent crowd stop and watch
Stilled by the sullen fall of the blade.
The crowd of peasants roar.
One more to go.
Let's even the scare.
Maybe the score.
Today alone twenty or more.

Let them feast.
Worry the wealth of the rich.
Watch power tumble.
As it's neck doth crumble
A revolutionary way to deal with affluent society.

A rickety cart pulled by stallion fine.
Arrogance led from said rickety cart.
Still holding their masks to their eyes.
Fine mask withheld by milady in waiting.

Exchanged for a rag.
To stick over the eyes of the affluent ****.
Before she meets her maker.
Another gone.
Nibbled the dust of a thousand saws.

Crowd uproar.
In a sea of cheers.
A platform of fear.
A scaffold without much mess.
Another head tossed in the basket.
Poulets dans le panier!

Sorry seems a word of dishonour.
Not one you'll hear from me.
Stubborn, very stubborn.
So here I guess this mess.
Has led to stalemate
I'm sure you will agree'
At least I know my failings.
But stalking was not one.
I nod my head in acknowledgment of that.
That those highly strung wires may have tangled.
The joy we shared became totally mangled.
The messages got mixed up between the two of us.
But I cannot be dissed for that.
I will not open the mystery of our past history.
We are a closed book, what we had was special.
We loved, we had, we lost.
Such is life.

I did nothing wrong,
Certainly nothing with intention.
Except to play along.
With the well renowned king of the flirts.
In darkness, a neck bruised and tongue removed.
Left a line of chalk.
Maybe the rain will wash the line away.
Darling,
This wouldn't have happened if you talked the talk me!
You write words so eloquent.
But in spoken words let us down.
That's why we both sport a God awful frown
Runs between sweet love and hate.
I will discuss this crap no further.
Have really had enough.
To go from mate to hate is far more than tough!
Never deserved to lose a friend.
Neither of us did!

Snakes!

Snakes!

The daggers fly.
From the tongue of venom.
Addressed at the maiden pure.
Maiden has no reason to endure the taunts.
Her eyes are shut tight.
No desire to be blinded or bitten.
By friends.
Not really there.
After all.
Nobody shows a cobra care.

Hiding in trees while waiting to squeeze.
Lunch with no breath.
As he squashes to death
The boa, not feathered.
Ties himself up in knots.

But, not while he's shedding his skin.
Dinner swallowed whole.
Mind, body and soul.
Only takes him a day or two.
Sometimes a week to digest.

Adder's not an abacus.
Another snake in the grass.
Just like the rest.

MY CLEAR CUT RESPONSE!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Phone me, discuss rather than cuss.
You will not drag me to hell!
Because you can't.
I write because, like you I can,
Write what I feel at the time,
Means nothing...just words.
I want no recognition.
From you or A.N.Other!
If you will not speak to the lady who is  most definitely no runt.
No *****.
Who does not want you anymore.
Because you're truly self-absorbed.
No C**T
(BTW I shall not share your naked pics on here.)
Believe it or not.
I have respect for you and more  for myself!

High Esteem!

High Esteem

Drip drip.
The shards of the smashed clock.
Lay powdered on the deck of sighs.
Tick tock vanished.
Oblivious of moments spent.
Overtly obvious.

Eyes peeled as blood oranges.
After visit from assailants hands.
And still they drip.

She dropped to her knees in terrors distress.
It's off with her head in a field of regret.
In a misery of meaningless life.

She did die.
Truly she did.
Executed by her own well written lines,
AWOL,
Her high self-esteem!

North!

The north east wind doth blow up my sleeves.
As a wicked witch reveling in an invisible incognito.
Nipping my ******* in loves lost regret.
Always love a decent breeze.
Wind biting my nose, prompting an impromptu sneeze.
Cradles my body, but not tenderly.
Nothing lasts forever thank heavens.
Soon the wind will die today.
Having ripped at moments past.
Momentous in memories.
Glory banners promote a once lost issue in chilled delight.
Rain and snow.
Kith and kin of chill.
All hail the suns return in spring!

Duchess!

Duchess!

I was his last duchess.
His lady of honour.
In love I did respect his wishes.
Lost kisses shared.
As the sun rises in the mourning.
The sky cries another tear.
For the yesterdays gone and tomorrows to come.

In eyes, I undressed him.
My mind him dissected.
The image of man.
That man.
Dark lord released.
Shadow melted to the walls.
Within my abode.
Can feel the presence still.
Of he who is not here.

Because I will be his last duchess.
Though I know he doesn't care.
He was my last duke.
My last memory.
Naked pictures.
Saved upon my phone.

Black and White!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
What was so cool flew out of the window.
It was only left slightly ajar.
The mad dormouse sat in his tea ***.
Trying to work out what to wear.
Will today's writing hat feature war or care.

Pasting an image.
Maybe decrying, sensations of caring.
Writes sometimes audaciously daring.
Buzzing around like a wasp in my hair.
Driving me mad with his lunacy.
Decrying love story.
Then love in it's glory.
Says he wants to be free.
Guess what.
Perhaps he should try being me!

In a breath of fresh air.
He'll write a cute muse.
And in the next breath.
Another he'll abuse.
The poetry man with the black and white muse!

Mine's a Bitter!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Emotions are blown out of the water.
Upsurge of nuclear war.
Cold.
Let the wind blow.
Causation of chill.
Neglect in the whole.
Never ending abyss of emptiness.

Who caused this blatant travesty.
This justice undeserved.
Rough as glass-paper.
Ripped at skin.

Walked through sunshine.
Died in rain.
Cry once.
Cried twice.
Then he cried again.
'Jesus Christ.'
He left here only pain.
The man who left business unfinished.
Paint his skin yellow and let him bleed.
Be wary for sure.
He'll do it again!

Echoes!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
An echo of the gentle voice of yesterday.
Becomes subtle as a sledgehammer.
Tomorrow smashes the sound barrier as it shatters the clouds of disillusionment.

Last week trapped in cerumen,
Within the sticky ears.
Wax but not candle or bees.
Vibrations ensconced in pretty head.
Voices of the now long dead.

Speech sometimes impediment when the words all come out wrong.
Sweet voices not always the song of birds.
When the voice who needs to speak.
To preach out loud to those unheard.

Jenny and The Great Ape!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
Jenny and the Great Ape!

Was only when watching T.V.
Watched the kindness of eye surgery.
Rebuilding a future of vision.
Bright and true.
Cataract removal.
Taken in care.
Helped persons from sub-continent.
Once sight deprived.

Then from the depths of my mind.
A wonderful achievement.
From my memory.
Surgeon of human form.
Enhanced the eyes.
Of apes and men.
Not mice and men.
That would be far too much of a crazy feat

However:
The visual improvement of gorillas eyes.
Cataracts removed.
Lenses replaced.
One magical gift.
The ability to fix.

This is a true story converted into a poem. A surgeon colleague of mine performed eye surgery on a gorilla to enable it live independently! Amazing....for confidentiality I am unable to give name of the surgeon. Such a gift!

Love is a Dead Dinosaur
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
A degree of murderous intent.
Unearthed emotions long since felt.
Reached the stars.
Love went underground.
In a spot of fossil hunting.

Took a chance at novelty.
Dug up the bones.
The bones of a pinned down pain.
Pain charred the heartbreak.
Love left again.

When it once walked it had vicious teeth.
A hunter in suburbia.
Nocturnal beast.
Once hunted prey.
Now all it does is pray.

Strong power filled.
Aggressive once.
Now just scavenges.
The ruins of ancient civilizations.
Praying for tomorrow not to come.
To scavenge no more.
All in a nightmare.

Symbolic Stars!
Olivia Kent Nov 2013
In a Christian world.
The star an ensign.
A symbol.
Pointing out wicked wounds inflicted on Christ .
While was crucified.
By ignorance cruel.
The points denote an insult on his tragic dying soul.
Our saviour saved by pointed pain.

Babylonians long since gone.
Showed Heaven in four quarters.
Jupiter, Mars, Lady Venus and Mercury.
Houses in which archangels dwell.
Quarters denoted by a star.
Ishtar at the top.

Five points, a symbol.
The Grecian star divides by elements.
And beautiful phases of the moon.
Breathe in the air.
Walk on earths mantle.
Let fire not tempt fingers.
Water to extinguish.
Vision on the facets of the luna moon.
Seasonal in phases.

Young moon in spring, with water brings..seen in the West.
Vernal equinox provides the life rebirth.
Moon in youth is the summer brings..Second quarter in the South.
Autumn comes with harvest moon.
Middle age of lunar cycle.
Dry as earth.
Almost barren beauty.
Three quarters of the cycle.
Arises in the east.
During autumns changing face and fruit filled feast.
Coldness carries death in chains brings winter.
In the North faces of the moon.
Hidden in winter nights of death.

Bring on the winter solstice.
The final point I bring to you.
Is in spirituality.
Inspirational!
