This weekend at another heavy metal show
Your existence had been many times doubted
But there your were, as solid and sharp
As the black spot in my chest
Your tall grandeur and dark rimmed eyes
The yellow stain between your middle & pointer finger
Your eyes flicked towards my face,
A tiny smirk was yours to gain
I'd seen that look before a million times
I used to even miss it
Laugh and sling your arm around another friend
I turned away and tugged my collar
High against my cheekbones
Stepping out into the cold,
The thumping said goodbye
In another time, another place,
I'm glad we're not together

A heavy heart
And a heavier head
With a gentle hand
And soulful eyes
Is all I need
In a guy

Mother Nature gave me up for adoption
                    She was young
                                          I was destructive.

It stings deep like a jagged blade sinking into the bones of the soul.

The shock softens the blow, but the truth remains solid as before. They invaded themselves into your world; unknown.
Emotions, opinions, thoughts, brutally read through the eyes of another who does not understand. Tramples through and simply butchers you; inside.

Trust destroyed in a moment of seconds.

Everyone,
take up your pencils and paper,
guitar strings and shoelaces,
bow-ties and tuxedos,
your make-up and plastic,
and ready yourselves for the hardest fight yet.
Everyone,
paint on your smiles,
spray your last drops of perfume,
eat a hearty breakfast,
be sure to grab your briefcase,
and ready yourselves for the final battle.
Today,
we fight.
We fight for the rich and the poor,
we fight for the victims of natural disaster,
we fight for your low grades,
your six-figure incomes,
we fight for ourselves,
for a brighter future,
we fight for genocide,
we fight for holocaust,
we fight for disease and famine,
and for religion.
Everyone,
take up your weapons of choice,
cry out your war cries,
dig deep down inside yourselves to summon the rage.
Fight for me,
fight for yourselves,
for everything you believe in.
Fight for love,
fight for war,
fight for peace,
for hatred.
Everyone,
whatever you do,
fight for something.
Because,
I tell you now,
I have lost my vision,
I have lost my purpose,
I have stopped believing.
Fight for me,
fore I have been taken captive by this game we call life.

We parted in a May morning
On a merry walk, my shadow and I
When evil clouds stole him from me
And I came home alone to cry

And a writer of bad deeds on my left
And a writer of good deeds on my right
And over me a black, black cloud
My portable hell, my personal night

Buy me clothing, man of mine
Dress me up
And dress me down

Take me to see the lights
Swish me away
And give me up

Bite your lip and cluck your tongue
Let me be
And I'm not young

What Light speaketh,
Unto the Darkness?
Whom is more forceful?
Which is more tyrannous?

Must you succumb to Light?
Or fear the Darkness?
Or both?
Must you Succumb to Light?
In order to overcome Darkness?
And if thou dost not fear Darkness?
When why should thee succumb to Light?

Light doth not symbolize good.
Light is as violent as Darkness.
For both are to be feared.

Light to be feared because of its' fickleness.
And Darkness to be feared of its' unknowing.

Pick up thine poison.
Acquire light, and thou art doomed.
Venture into darkness,
And thou art doomed.

Tis true, that the creatures,
Lurk in the shadows.
But the Light dost not,
Have them vanish.
Creatures are not banish'd,
From the Light.
But Darkness makes them unseen.

Spark thine torches,
Look among the creatures.
Yet a torch is Light,
And Light is a fickle being.

Light is easily lost,
Only to find yourself,
Once again set in Darkness.
Darkness... where the creatures roam.
Light... where the creatures are known.

Light doth not make Darkness timid.
But Light shakes below the hand of Darkness.
Light is fragile, yet darkness in itself.
For without Light, You obtain darkness.

Once again, spark thine torch.
Look beyond where the Light canst grasp.
What dost flood thine vision?
Darkness.

Permanent, Light is not.
But Darkness...
O... Darkness...
Thou art eternal.
Overwhelming and omniscient.
The world hath been created amoung Darkness.
Therefore, humanity doomed by its' creator,
To remain in Darkness for its' existence.
And Light never to prevail.
