Sure, I’ve been in love.

I fall in love with people who buy the same drink
and people who sit three seats in front of me
and maybe
even the people who walk next to me for a while.

I fall in love with the boy on the bench outside English
and the boy  who just passed on his bike.

I fall in love with backs of heads
and shoes attached to legs
I’m in love with
voices two flights down and the barking laugh
walking past.

And I’m probably  in love with you
or have been before.
It might have happened twice
and you might have never met me.

Another moment and I won’t remember your face.
But, trust me,
I love you.

Maybe one day you’ll catch my eyes
and fall in love, too.
And then we can spend our entire lives
in love.

And in the mornings
the sun can cascade
onto our blankets
to pry us from our perfect sleep.

1.

It's all arriving now,
Live or die,
Quiet sound that crawls on tainted ground,
Be the saviour of my soul,
Swipe aside the burning flames and rise,
Ascend,
Atone mysteries unknown.

2.

Deep in the mind lies the ancient answer,
Fighting for freedom,
From the salient anchor,
Looking for what is already found,
Searching the past,
Condemning the future,
Falsifying fate to the encore rapture.

3.

The flaming forests where we dwelt,
And the old gods that before we knelt,
Escape the hell of surface fear,
Crawl through the fire 'cause the new gods are here.

Cry Sebastian
Cynics
are dreamers
blinded once to many times
by dazzling white light-
You were there that night.

For so long I longed-
Milk soft skin,
Burning eyes,
inetense desire,
the scent of a woman.

You fell asleep,
but still the room was on fire.

Beauty resting in my naked arms.

I watched over you until dawn.

You awoke
You were there
But you were gone.

Its not that she never stays,
She was never there to begin with.
Her mind is still living in faerietales she creates
and whenever she sees a new Peter Pan
she must change her story
so she can fly away.

The passion and soft smile never was for you-
it belonged to the hero wedged in her head-
the moment she saw you,
you were dead.

Distance

You are distant from me,
Not in space or time,
But in a trickier dimension altogether,
Known as love.
And your distance
Makes me wish
I could build a spaceship
Fit to travel at the speed of changing hearts
And bring you back to me.

When will you give me the “let’s just be friends” talk?
It took me 10 years to not do the same.
It’s really not kinder this way.
So much I want to say I cannot find the courage.
I’d do everything different if it were up to me.
The sadness I know, do you know a piece of?
You feed it to me like a slice of sweet cake.
If it were up to me, I’d do everything different.
Is there a key to unlock this prison?
I really had hoped it would be different with you.
If it were up to me, it would be-
but is it really kinder this way?
I’d sleep but you are not next to me.
Would I stop crying if I could?
There is not enough smoke or mirrors on this whole **** planet
to make me forget what you’ve promised to me.
Will I never see my white horse or baby flower?
Will I never stop searching for the one to set me free?
You’re not the only one who would like to fall off of this planet
and I really believed that we would jump together.
Feeling so foolish, and so much like a child.
I’d just stop breathing, if it were up to me.
Involuntary thoughts, like involuntary functions.
Necessity breeds invention.
Now tell me, what should I make of this?
If I could only SPEAK all that I’m thinking.
That which does not **** us will make us stronger,
but what about those who are better off dead?
I need a clock like I need a hole in my head.
The opposite of King Midas syndrome
where everything I touch turns simply to ****.
Drinking this wine, in lue of your breath
which is far more intoxicating, treasured, and sweet.
I would replace it for the air,
if it were up to me.
