a guy like me
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
You are my summer sun, and I am your winter rain
You give to me so much happiness, all I can muster is a lot of pain
Those tiny specks of disturbance, the ones that make your eyes glare
I'll take the credit for them, of which you like to make me fully aware
Your cocktail of love, beauty and serenity, tainted by a bad tasting uninspired spirit
Your tolerance, your compassion, your benevolence, I test them to the limit
Maybe I should run that long mile
Everytime you smile
Leave you in that place where you are creative, happy and carefree
A place I now fear has no room for a guy like me

Someone's misery
wrapped up in someone's international policy
Sanctions to prove a point, to enforce power
another political pact helps another culture cower
We are modernised, we are westernized
A lot of the world though seems unsatisfied
Terrorism the new currency on the playing field of negotiations
Suffering increases and yet bankers commit suicide with stock market fluctuations
Keep it short, to the point, and hopefully inoffensive
This world has made me sceptical and apprehensive

Benefits to Benefit

Get on the government payroll
Sign up and get the dole
Everything paid
No role you have played
There are some circumstances beyond your control
At times we dont know how the dice will roll
But throughout our nation there runs a strong vein of laziness
Prosperity has unleashed its own form of craziness
If it is there then greedy hands will dive in and take whatever they can
Perhaps if it wasn't you'd be forced into another plan
Needles given to a  ***** so they can continue with ease
Money given to parasites so they can provoke and tease
A welfare system that aids sedentary obesity
A welfare system that needs a thunderous intake of reality

nico papayiannis Mar 2016
You thought with the passing of time your wounds would heal,
The scars remain though reminding you how you feel
Years elapse
Our memories collapse
And so upon them we do build
We craft a way into the optimistic blue sky
Far from the conflicts
The wars on why

you never knew
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
you never knew that you helped me to breathe
you never knew the day you decided to leave
that I lost a piece of me.
we spoke, it was nice,
it was a bit too late,
your life and your thoughts
you would always complicate
you never knew the importance of who you were
you lost your way,
lost the love of your children
and eventually lost the will to exist
you never knew my kids,
but then you never really knew your own
it hurts to think
you never really knew how I cried,
how I felt so alone
you were never there
you never offered guidance or some words to help see clear through the crazy days
you certainly knew though that your gift of nothing became the greatest gift received
I loved you
I told you
soon after, you died
but not before I felt your pain, and sat with you as you cried

The Art Of Staring
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
Some folk they look at me like I'm a kind of freak
I'm not an alien, just half Greek
Do I not fit into your idealistic world of uniformity
Just like every other one of us on this planet I hold my own position of exclusivity
You stare and you don't care
You judge with animosity and angst
Your nose turns to the north
The look of disgust written all over your face
I think I'm quite presentable and hopefully not a burden to your visuals
Maybe at dawn we can meet and share 10 paces and pistols
I know I don't fit in, I'm not what you might call your average dude
But a simple good morning would raise spirits and i wouldn't think you were being so ******* rude
We all are different but there are so many who cannot accept individuality
To be the same is to copy , it is to emulate so as to always feel for your existence that you have security
Outside of your totalitarian ways
The tree lined avenues I walk are lit by sunny days
I smile and you cant, for the Botox and bodge jobs have ironed out your emotions
Take my name off your list , and don't keep me in mind when its time for promotions

the spiral that surrounds
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
In-between the spiral that surrounds
I hear distant solidifying sounds
A life set in stone
A life lived in a distorted monotone

The clouds they devour
I am sodden from their acidic shower
Melting my skin into elasticity
No escape from the complexity

The hairs on my hand
Vertical they stand
A look in the mirror, nothing there
One last look to know if I care

Shattered into submission where insecurity shines
Around my frame the fragmented fury entwines
I cannot laugh, I cannot speak
Motivation has become antique

The fading glory shimmers to a tepid stream of unsympathetic solitude

say hello to God for me
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
You can keep your God, I hope you serve this entity well, and when your final curtain starts its sudden drop, I hope they are there for you,
How will you know when you have reached your destination, will the way be marked or will you just be again, scrambling around in the dust and grime of forgotten fantasies
If there is to be an image , an apparition that awaits, will you ask them for ID, how will you know if this is not just another con artist, sitting and waiting for unsuspecting prey
When your eyes close, never to open, will you just lie there and presume that someone is coming, your number has been called but you grew up waiting, you lived life waiting, and so it would seem in death you shall wait
Seems like a whole load of faith for something that in reality based ideologies seems all too absurd
The pursuit of a predestined existence to accomplish the ultimate goal for which you have to provide the ultimate sacrifice, seems to be one of the greatest gambles a sane human being would want to undertake, a life rooted firm in stories and myths
It would seem a whole heap easier to accept the only resolution for us all on this planet and move forward knowing that we are all the same, from where it begins to where it ends the human race will all share the same fate
This for me is the only way to get on and sort our indifferences out, pave a future of forgotten histories , a time of peace where mankind embraces life and not death, every waking person lives with the facts of the existence of now and not some distant time away
All of our problems, socially and globally are firmly based around our desires and passion to believe beyond belief that we are here for some other celestial reason, we have scarred this place we call home, we have packed ourselves up and journeyed down a path of spiritual insurrection, we have segregated the world and it has all been for our selfish and dire faiths

You say you want me
But you don't come and take me
You say you need me
But you don't lean on me
You say you love me
But when did you last tell me
At the crossroads we divide
Everyday you run and hide
Together we are , yet alone I feel
The warmth we had has turned to cold steel
My heart aches as your heart takes
Another shot at my insecurity
This cant be the beginning of the end for you and me
Unseen is my plight
I seem to just fall short of your sight

Responsibility starves ,
The naked trails that inspiration carves.
Solitude, my fortitude,
Locked away with my creation.
It breathes , it evolves
The devil dissolves.
At play in the mind,
All you are, afraid to find.
Tenacious truths sweating on my brow
I think the darkness needs to go now.
The return, as all is purged and new pastures parade propaganda
Through my solace I shall meander

I dropped a penny into the ocean of dreams, the sea of wishes
Money wasted, mercury tasted
As the ebb and flow my thoughts distort
It now takes precedence the desire to determine, the clear future of clouds, of life without,,
Taken and distributed through a system of abuse
Tongues tied , fingers worn to  callouses, emotions overcome by paralysis
This ocean feeds the river that drowns me and my soul
My bubble has burst
My troubles have come home to roost

the chase
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
The noise of footsteps quickens, with haste I run, but time is chasing me down this one way street

As smart as a fox I am in and out of every nook and cranny, the flood of the inevitable hot on my heels

Each moon passing hails another suns birth, the more you witness the more you question your worth

From boy to man with no set plan, the compass has no needle, the waypoint , the marker, just keep on forwards motion until the days are longer and darker

The last ditch attempt to try and apprehend has me hiding behind a long grey beard, a cane to aid and a shuffling of every weary stride

That long lasting sleep it beckons, it claws at my heartbeats as they fade to a lone bugler, the procession, the flowers, a youthful smile to hail a new awakening

profanity of vanity
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
Being so vain just drives me insane
This obsession of appearance
Physical interference
Sad for me to think
That this is all that you think
Really just bowing down
To the normality of your crazy town
Being so vain,
Drives me insane
Another orange face clutching a clutch bag  swagging a wayward comedic dance
Locked in the dismissive illusion that has you spineless , and in a trance
No worries with caring
But is it really your insecurities you need to be sharing
Patchwork quilts adorn our high streets
The pain of who you are
Has you self harming and  your vanity is just helping to disguise the scar
Nothing like a good bit of Disruptive Pattern Material to fool the enemy
I suppose for some it must just be a camouflaged reality

but after all these years, that only lasts about 30 seconds
For it is your love that does beseech my innermost thoughts, takes a grip on my senses, never to be set free,
Your beauty , not a parody,
unrivalled in its power to render human flesh lifeless, statuesque I stand,
You found me,  I was hiding,
you love me , I am now alive

the wildlife conservation,
nico papayiannis Mar 2016
For love to flourish
Some ideas on life we need to punish
And for unity to feel unified
Some old philosophies should be denied
A universal charter of peace
One that imprisons any aggressor with no signs of an early release
Third world or new world, rich and poor
Eternally searching for so much more
At breaking point and primed for implosion
Standing at the towns gates and cheering totalitarianism on its arduous march into expulsion
As masses we move in uncertain terms
Living to absorb , to almost defend the disease, the genetic germs
The crowd ask questions, seek answers of clarity
Settling no more for the disgust of others impunity
Maybe the balance will tilt
And the toxic flowers of the current state of affairs begin to wilt
Global humanity free to exist and have an honest future of preservation
Not just confined to a future in some wildlife conservation

caveman computer, no 2,
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
What can be done
Under our mother , the sun
To become
So much more than we ever could have imagined

We have killed
We have emotionally thrilled
Reality we have distilled
Is it that we have missed the point and surpassed expectations

No more mountains to climb
No more transcendence into the spiritual sublime
No more surprised by the latest crime
We still search and endeavour for that discovery that defines, ignoring simplicity and soulful structure

No more writing
No more playing
Just plain and easy sailing
Taking with us no pain, no sorrow
Taking a dream , a reality of another tomorrow

Its not really about the science of space
Or the expensive augmentation of someone's face
How low you can be does not impress, just brings more disgrace
It is about humanity, acceptance , philanthropy and the denial of the egotistical eccentric wealth endowed weapon of mass hysteria

So much more to be done
Under our great sun
Just to move from the past and into a bright future
No more a slave to this caveman computer, this system of social manipulation, just a free soul , with no strings to control

Freeze Frame (2011/)
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Deprived, deprived
Don't really know how I've survived
Oxygen bleeds
Contaminates the seeds
Sanity removed
Early on it was proved
It has no place and bears no relevance
When filling your time with reluctance

Shimmer, shimmer
The line is hazy,
The line grows thinner
Tolerance provoked
Ownership revoked
This cavern surrounds
Release the hounds

Turmoil is tempting
Boredom has you sweating
The ritualistic religious
Fed intravenous
A social collapse
As wisdom takes on an indefinite relapse

Despair, despair
Thick and heavy everywhere
Assisted happiness
A man in a dress
A man in a suit,
Tailored to fit
Poised to sit at the table of dysfunction
To alleviate is to negotiate
Give over your name
Join the freeze frame

Sever your heart to secure a release
Or risk the loss of every piece
The food you eat
The air you breathe
Sent to feed
But also used to deceive

quarks and sparks
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
It is written, it is said, that locked inside every tiny head, is intrigue wonder and awe
but we haven't quite managed to evolve from off the forests floor
We have challenged and defeated, some ideas so narrow and conceited,
but still we forage, we fight, we squander, sitting in huddled packs sipping intoxication as we poignantly ponder
With immeasurable intellect we have managed to cosmologically dissect, quarks and strange sparks, gravity in black holes at an event horizon,
in the minefield that is the humans and their psychological gymnastics display we haven't really turned out anything much surprising,
our form , our structure, our natural physicality's we are most definitely compromising
As tantalising as it may feel to believe that from the caves and carnivorous ways we have moved , leapt boundless bounds into what would appear to be stratospheric realms of discovery,  I personally feel no celebrations passing my gloomy way as I still see a world of horror, **** , ****** , torture, and abuse, you will see me smile when I hear no more of anguish, see no sights to turn my stomach, and to never again speak of just how disgusting the taste of modern mayhem has become

who is watching who
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
A world watching a world collapsing
Its subjects frantic, its leaders as nonchalant as ever
Lifeless apparitions walk ghost- like through the mystery that surrounds
Time never heals, its parasitic preference just feeds on the time you have left

A world watching a broken world crying
The screams are ignored, the pain is recycled
Communities and cultures crash , their traditions now mythical teachings
Borders barriers, walls,  impenetrable as ever

A world watching charity consume
Its sticky little fingers stuck to the wealth of benevolence
As another dies another wallet bulges
Overpaid and overweight presides over starvation and misery

A world watching the  deconstruction of a worlds basic desire to exist in peace
The immense magnitude and diversity of intellect has only scratched the surface of a world that watches us as we make our mark , unperturbed and as always smiling the world awaits another race

nico papayiannis Feb 2016
As my  sister escapes so shall my heart run free with her
My thoughts, they mirror her madness  and my plight is to offset her world of torture
She thinks far away on another plain
Into societies brackets she fits, some call her insane
How it could have been if not for a genetic malfunction
Forever stood still now, unable to cross the junction
Frustration and anger as life passes her by
I would take all she has so she could one day fly
As kids we would play and i would hear some nasty words that some nasty people would say
****** spastic unwanted freak
But I have always shown empathy for those ignorant and blind, pathetic and meek
She is such a massive part of me and I hope that I am for her
Each day I live with her inflictions
Together we shall overcome lifes restrictions
Thankful to her to be who I am and where I stand
The mist becomes less of a blur holding tight onto my darling sister's hand
She inspires me
She fires me
My sister, my life
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Let the grief that washed over you, be the cleansing of your soul,
though it may have ripped out your heart, embrace and move on,
help to fill another hole

All those years you cried
always felt denied,
time to just let go
and let the serenity simply free-flow.
Impossible to carry
a weight so destructive
a journey any further
would be so unproductive

To follow in footsteps where confusion does rule
is to endorse the pain of the fact that for so long you have been a fool
Emotions run deep, and it is here we keep
the illusion of our ignorance
the result of our sufferance

We all have our demons, our closeted ghosts,
fragments of our imagination that have been our host.
The battle that rages from within
let it be nothing more than a diminishing din

Away from the shores of false comforts and preposterous preconception,
there is a land of wonder, peace and emancipation
you may never forget, you may never forgive
but with  animosity and an emotional monstrosity,
a way to never truly live.
Come to terms with an acceptance that all cannot be how you want it to be
open your eyes and be amazed at what your heart can so lovingly see

Borderline Is The Madness
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Again, tonight I occupy a lonely and cold corner of the bed.
So many heart felt memories for so many years,
But as cruel as the winter wind,
the love
the affection
the prolonged attention,
have brought with them an unwelcoming splinter of animosity.
It is with love that you wield the sword
your powerful beauty has me floored,
shaking in my skin, afraid of the outside.
Thoughts of others, laid to rest,
burdens lay heavy upon my chest
no more to sleep, just laying awake
awaiting the battle,
the battle of another day with its silent scream.
The cold distance demands
my arrow has been shot down
sweet goodnights are now no more

the desert in my mind
the wind that blows
renders me blind

No crops no life
just dust and weeds
into this barren landscape
my inspiration bleeds

The smell of the inert
lays heavy in the air
amidst the inhospitable
I am chained to a chair

The soil the earth
these misty plains of misconception
microbes of madness mutate
tumbleweed tightens the anticipation

No creatures roam
the rivers dry bed
and as forests die
their screams fill my imploding head

A green pasture oasis
a summer rainfall to tease the synapses
right before my tired eyes
the hallucination perfectly collapses

The fallow field
the vastness within

I dont mean to impose
but lets for a moment suppose,
that with the power of stealth
the world could redistribute
its phenomenal wealth

Away from those of  selfish greed
into the hands of  those
who so desperately need.
For all that is financially made
how many innocents are so easily betrayed

A strange day it would be
if we all could see

for all the souls they have tossed
further into a world of dismay
where to beg borrow or steal
seems to be the only way

Realism not Materialism
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Realism not materialism, want and not just selfish need
Enough for us all and not a necessity to embarrassingly plead,
Not a fan of truth distortion, being made to feel like my life is someone else's abortion
Why we elect a small minority to deviously rule with the upper hand, then have the audacity to whinge and whine about their ways, I'll never understand.
Materialism, corporate fascism, fuelled by a media hell bent on sabotage and the distribution of vile and endemic culture crushing connotations, the full force of the greatest human division spreads as a disease blanketing all nations
As money truly does go to money then those who facilitate and always bear the brunt of the inevitable collapse shall always be poorer,                               Without the correct paperwork, or should I say currency, then you have no way of crossing this border
Forget racial discrimination and ******* disfiguration, you can be as homosexual as you choose, even walk around with no shoes, eat beans and green leaves or any type of meat, whichever you please, you carry on and form your self help group , continue to pursue your equality with another expensive campaign, and the likes of me can just sit and supposedly constantly complain, it matters not, the master plan, the global bigger picture, how it will be painted, we have perhaps not enough intellect to say, but we sure as hell all have the humane integrity, values and worth in the role we play

subliminal shadow of deceit
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Hey I'm talking to you, cant you hear me, yeah that's it you, the one who can no longer disguise, yes you know I'm pointing my finger, not just in your general direction but straight at you, x marks the spot and that spot is there upon your shoulders of responsibility

This subliminal shadow of deceit and manipulation has been our saving grace for far too long, the blanket of bewilderment that commands and demands has stretched far from home, far from the clutches of its creator, it has engulfed the marauding masses, our societies our children our culture our teachings and our philosophies , our dna code now detached from reality as its golden handshake with military type materialism hands to us all the desires of greed and the importance of a profound acceptance of the need to obtain and discard, obtain and discard,

We as the people, we are at your beckon call, we are at your mercy, your will, your might your wants and needs, they have become the strength of our existence, whoever it is we can blame, who knows, but like it or not the facts and the front page features are staring right back at you, the truth is uncompromising , it is resilience in its truest and most complex state,

You can imagine a world of sweet wonder and yes you can form parties of like minded fools to protest and procrastinate on the green nurtured lawns of power, you can even run naked screaming your tiny head off down the corrective corridors of confusion but you will never rock the balance of power and you can never really get anywhere near to suggesting that this fictitious life of nonchalance really does need to change

Throughout the centuries ideals and beliefs have shaped shifted our nations into an ever spiralling maze of mayhem, life , this languishing labyrinth we are cursed to follow , to explore its deep recesses of despair and destitution, it consumes from birth and slowly like the parasite it is, life is ******* life from your flesh and bones

Days so long, nights so much more, I cant believe how far I am from the times of  before, there was a world of so much but always there we were, on our own path with nothing to deter,
Storms did rage and the journey of salvation  begun,  out of caring arms reach, out on a limb we were strung, no fables written so myths were to be made, but in the line of fire, along lifes great highwire, the responsibility and burden of modern life was played
And so I lost you to the clutches of the abyss of uncertainty, so many parts of the structure of experience transformed into a grey of normality, I turned as I climbed to see no shadow just a vacant void of realism, I can feel its presence and it fuels the scepticism
Where and why you have gone come of no surprise, no great revelation, life has a nasty habit of just ticking by, all forms of growing up are now passed as you pass into lifes great complication
I embrace each day as I look forward to the next, getting older and learning how to survive are not written in some secret text, the world around continues as you continue to evolve, the conundrums and connotations, the mysteries and diversions, they become problems that on their own they tend to solve,
For me and my life there has always been just the one plan, of conformity, regularity, normality and uniformity, I have never been a great fan, that rock of marble I shall carve, the lines and the contours, forged from my own bare hands, the story unfolds as I travel the lands, no fear , for each imposing year, just as always intrepid anticipation does await, my existence has no time to hesitate, full on , headstrong, and no deviation, my life will not be moulded by lifes great expectation, I am me this is how it shall forever be

The way of the good

Without the words of Gods

The design of existence

Without the creation of lies

The prosperity of our race

Void of any divine distinction

To achieve without wealth

To avoid an early extinction

To have and to hold

Without the loss

from the chaos she came
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
From chaos she came, to tame the rain,

She stole my heart ,she stole  my soul, left love in its place, left me with this look on my face

The chaos has dispersed, and the love has grown ,  shadows remain, of the seed first sown

When a fire meets an ocean, when the flames frantically fade, a point of singularity, a life now calm, content with its clarity

With fear I cry, the paranoia parades profoundly, the fate that would await if the life we have now made, in a different way was played

An exile in the void, a ****** to all the memories destroyed, to chaos I could never return, sit and watch my deepest love, my whole life simply burn

The unity of marriage, never could it define, there are no words in a poems finest line, your beatific beauty cuts rigid streams through my dementia , my confusion, it is but endless and divine the love we have that holds no exclusion

From the chaos she came to tame the rain, from that day my life was never to be the same

Life On Vivid Extremes
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
My love for this life, my passion, my intrepid inspiration, the binding , and  the very foundations of my existence

The pain of humanity , the injustice of the individual, the desecration of our great planet, the drive, the verve,  the rebellion that rages, the reason to write

A delusion of grandeur as I see a world changed, an hallucination adorns as I am greeted one morning with news of a death, a departure so desperately desired, RIP capitalism and racism, preachers and painters of pre-ordained preposterous presumptions

It is not the dilemma of disease , that I wish to please, but the promotion of ignorance that I wish to bring to its knees, the unsympathetic  solutions to our downfalls , how it is the peaceful resolution stumbles and stalls

The love for life, the understanding of all, the acceptance of one, love has been, and shall continue , to form the structure, build the resilience to resist , a life of love is a life upon which I insist

I lost a great friend to a lonely suicide, his parents have always been on the run looking for that place to hide
His dad , such a big man, such a big ****, his mum as long as I've known her she likes to fill an emptying glass
Day one of free air till last inhaled, my friend was engulfed with torture, to its  parameters of pain he was impaled
Anger and frustration , the perpetrator of mans downfall, an age old collaboration
The love of many can mildly quench a burning thirst but there is a place from which it should come unrehearsed
Its a flawless love that never ceases to give ,  and helps to reassure , brings that light of sanity and warmth when life can be so cruel and impure

The Sound Of Peace
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
The sound of peace silenced by a thousand guns at war
Silenced by a thousand voices with words they have used before
The avenues of unity and humanity, no longer do the voices explore
My heart and my soul they suffer , I bleed with the torture from within, the actions of so many I so deplore
Serenity subdued, quite conveniently quashed, the hands of the perpetrators so easily washed ,those who seek, left behind left out there in the wild the bleak, voiceless and destitute, forever free, and forever resolute
The sound of peace is the noise of those  who endure, those whose thoughts lean towards pure, maddened by the monstrosity of life with its parade of parasites, a disease with no cure, the sound of white noise  to keep peace from your door
The sound of peace the crying of an orphan child, a refugee before he's turned three, the politics of peace in the land of his father, is the sound of desolation, a way to dampen and eradicate the sound of inspiration, this sad child knows only a sound so wild, the sound of a land viciously *****, and from its pavements of beggars, streets of vagrants , it can never be scraped.
The sound of our sovereignty, the sound of our ruling state, the sound of a cash machine, the sound of another devious deal declared, into the dark hours of deceit the sound of brokers exchanging gifts as they fictitiously negotiate
The sound of our country, the sound of our victory, the sound of our old dying in care homes fit only for dying rats, the sound of the nhs run by pompous over paid blood ******* fat cats, as patients and nurses suffer, they continue to help each other, the sound of our great land, whispers and secret deals with the upper echelons who have always had the upper hand,
The sound of now , this modern age , the sound of your child crying at 42, faced with a torture of finance , a restraint of  existence and excess responsibility, no reason to be no reason to do, more so than ever a slave to the wage that seems to furnish so much more for others, you can only sit by and listen to the sound of brothers killing brothers
Our greatest new age noise the suicide inducing tremor of look at what we have created and how it is so silent those who turned out as the great gift of capitalism was celebrated, silent if it were not for the greatest noise you can hear, it grows and grows void of any past fabled fear

Never Scream, Never Shout
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Politics of power politics of greed, politics we don't really need
Words with no meaning, words of war, words to exasperate all the wrongs of before
Men in bowler hats from higher degrees of education, Suffragettes in suits with their posh procrastinations
Radicalised preachers disguised as primary school teachers, morals and values that have no worth, morals and values to discolour our earth
Politicians with a fame fascination, politicians on their own inert instruction
Politics of verbal constipation, designed in a way you will never comprehend, politics of corruption and manipulation,  politics to make your thoughts unlawfully twist and bend
Politics that so easily steal from a dying hand, politics that allows our old to die where they stand
The politicians expense account, this just helps the animosity amount, our money, our stability our very existence, put to one side and dealt with the utmost of contempt if you offer up any form of resistance
Politics of minorities who the majority doesn't want or need and should rightfully and respectfully be abolished, when you look at our world  our people, and how they suffer, the responsibility lays firmly at their feet for with their megalomaniac ways , our world they have tarnished
I personally do not vote, how can I, when all they do is lie, I'm sure in-between, this cataclysmic scene, someone has the heart, the integrity and honour to want to serve the people of their nation, but I guess , like the rest , they'll accept their payout, sign on a dotted line, and never scream, never shout

The Last Laugh
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
Oh well! I just passed wind in the chapel of rest
I'm sure the old geezer laying  in the middle of the room would laugh if he weren't quite inconveniently deceased
Its this primeval instinct that separates us from the other animals, this ability to shake hands with fate yet still laugh in its face
A firm side swiping smack of reality is all it takes at times to just get up and get on with it
Yes i am the first to destroy and dissect the happiness that surrounds, but i am also one of the first to discard the misfortune and stride head on into my direction , far from the reaches of turmoil.
Never have i stayed for too long in a situation that undermines the quality of existence , the desire to carry on
There is always the next thing a journey to be had
There always will be another way to enlighten
A smile is never far from a frown
When the hard times press then push back harder
Forge an existence, one that compliments
One that takes away the unnecessary
The body on the slab, it cannot laugh, but I reckon just before the time of departure it broke into a small smile of content conviction
The experience is what takes you on
Its the memories that fill your empty box
When my time comes my smile shall reign, it will define
Time not wasted
For life was tasted

The Wealth Of Existence
nico papayiannis Feb 2016
God is nature, it is the beauty that shines the grace that surrounds, this the deity that holds the prophecy
The wealth of existence the extremities of life, the obstructions and the constructions, they are the dictators
If wind never blew and sun never shone then how would we be
Without the rain and the snow, day and night, how then could we see
When looking for your creator your master, look no further than the grass outside, the trees that bend and sway
God is nature, it's written in the stars,  the pinnacle of vision can surely be the space that surrounds the space we occupy,.
The sheer magnitude of our existence measured against the seemingly infinite darkness that caresses and toys with us , like a newborn in its mothers clutches,, so greatly misunderstood by such a vast majority, its very presence strikes  to the core of your soul, forcing the mind to question, the mind shall, and does answer with an explanation that will either be satisfactory, enough and will incur no more than an  external  influence dictating to internal workings, or you will dive deeper into the rabbit hole and rest never until truth rhyme and reason homogenize into a vision of perfection that blinds and stuns.
The voice you hear inside is the wind of reason whistling, it is the sound of grass growing , hot lava flowing, the burning crackle of a forest at war , the sound of rain on a concrete floor,
The spirit and your soul, it is the burning glow from the sun and the freezing fragmentations of warmth comfort and hospitality, this is you at large.
