its an easy burden to travel the facts
because however inconvenient or painful
God is in the facts and the facts are kind.
(Truth could not be anything but kind.)

up close and personal with all your mistakes
you can run but sorrow is freedom
but continued self berating is a lack of faith

dumbing down is the new smart
if you wanna get ahead best start
too many roses are no longer red
and violets are welts of our cred
but with all things photoshopped
all blemishes are airbrushed and
any rough edges can be cropped

kept going by the overwhelming beauty of nature
what can a poet do?
in love at the deepest levels
and no hint of divorce
kept going on an almost invisible pull
and pushed into singing one more time.

it was worth being born
to witness one day's
unfurled beauty.

politicians have much to say
without saying very much at all

they would do well to read the Poets
and set free their babbling tongues.
