A broken heart
Was all she had to give
So afraid to laugh and live
No more tears did she wish to cry
So she numbed her soul
And told love goodbye

Her world was shattered
With grief and pain
Her spirit no longer could maintain
She hid her heart and made it cold
Alone was how she would grow old

So long had this spirit been asleep
A passionate fire
Pushed way down deep
Shining eyes and a gentle smile
They were there all the while

In her sleep she wished to remain
Alone and cold in her pain
Then another heart
With beauty deep
Brought great love
And woke her from her sleep

Beauty is awakened
Love does exist
This beautiful heart
She could not resist

You are just

The leftover

Electricity on

My tub from

Suicide

Attempts past

And I cannot

Feel those

Waves

Now too

Tremorless
all rights reserved
If I asked you what you see in me
Would those rivers
Flow the same
A vessel for to hold the sea
Or a levee for to claim

Would you see walls you can absolve
A tree with no leaves
A riddle
No man could ever solve
Or a truth you can believe

Tell me true, what you can see
When your sky
Is not blue
A web interlacing what cannot be
Or one that ties my heart to you

Would you tell me you celebrate the jewel
You’ve found
For a kingdom of your own
Kept as a keystone
To create a harmonious sound
You cannot compose on your own

I
Am an English Major.
Numbers **** ***,
And I keep trying to pass it
But I'm stuck in this class.
My homework's due in three hours
But I'm rhyming instead,
I
Am an English Major
Who would rather be dead.
Or go to bed.
Or eat bread.
Just not do math.

Hello there
I was walking by
And caught a stare
Out of my eye

I couldn't tell
If it was a good thing
But judging from your reaction
I'm guessing you're a sweet thing

Correct me here
If I'm not right
I think I saw you
Out here last night

With the same look
The same stare
A different dress
But the same glare

Let me buy you a drink
To start off right
Maybe we could end it
At the end of the night

You're a beautiful girl
All alone in a bar
Let me take you somewhere
We can take my car

I'll buy the food
I'll pay for the drinks
We'll have a great ol time
End with a wink

After the night
I'll drop you off here
Outside your car
And watch you disappear

So what do you say?
You had me at a glance
Your beautiful eyes
Just put me in a trance

Tears
and rain,
sit upon
my eyelashes.
One shows my pain, one washes it away.

The grey clouds are one with my breaking heart.
Shedding their pain
in tune with
my souls
cry

To
accept
that Grandma
is leaving me,
is easier to say than to live through.

Each slowing beat of her heart pierces me.
My second mom,
my best friend,
dying
now.

Her
grace and
wisdom will
stay with me still.
I am, today, the woman she molded.

Touching so many, giving of herself.
Angel on earth,
soon to be
going
home.
This is written in the poetic form of "Tetractys"  The scheme is a syllable count of 1,2,3,4,10...then reverse the count 10,4,3,2,1 and so on

Dear old pen on paper,
You would never break my heart
And you wouldn't take our friendship
And let it fall apart

I know you'd never backstab
I don't think that you'd lie
As long as I still want you
We wont have to say goodbye

If I told you that I felt love
You would say you loved me too
With you I never feel left out
Or wonder if you're true

I think you're mine forever
You're the only one around
Who isn't messing with my heart
And hasn't let me down

So thank you pen on paper
You are my one true friend
And if you swear to do the same
I'll be here till the end.
