And some times
I wonder, Why it is,
that I find my soul
in quotes
The lilting prose
of days long past
The musing of drummer
And loon
The careful clause of music
Over a roaring note

I wonder
Where my heart is
That I see it floating by
And feel it
Pulse with life
Only on paper

For as I walk
Down roads of wary men
I search
I grasp
And feel nothing
Feel no breath
No life
Only fear
Prickling under skin

The shame of being
‘them’
the shame of not understanding
‘them;
as they stretch out
arms grasping for a friend
a rival, a lover, a stranger
I wonder how it is
That they have the courage

I wonder how it is
That I find my soul
On paper
And over and again
In song
And watch it float by
In culture

I wonder how it is
That any person
Who knows how I feel
Who felt my shame
Has the courage
To put those words
On display
i think it is beautiful
that poets,
from all over,
are able to gather here
to share what we
have a passion for.
and there are writers,
who would rather
write about the bright side
than the darkness,
and there are others
who are comfortable doing
the opposite.

to create something lovely,
we write by ourselves,
but we are also writing
together.
and i am not sure if
this is as sincere
as i would like for it to be,
but i want to say thank you
for writing with me.

white birds fly out
ur sweet mouth
as
hesitation straddles
a deadly no-go zone

1.
The silhouette of a small child sitting atop a stone ledge
Slowly picking the butterfly wings off his *perfect eyes

I will follow your sunken steps in the soft snow
Lead(ing) the way

Eagle flies lone over lime-hued cemetery

2.
Hope to find a more quiet place
not to think
to breathe
to be

(personne n'est esclave)

to let go
some day

Beautiful pictures flit over and over….over and over…endless…..like a wonderful, old projector movie-reel…..fast becomes seeming slow-mo….

Contemplating the meaning of speed...I guess it's all relative.

Sub-entry: ‘ONLY YESTERDAY’ - Carpenters

Songwriters: CARPENTER, Richard Lynn / BETTIS, John

After long enough of being alone
Everyone must face their share of loneliness
In my own time nobody knew
The pain I was goin' through
And waitin' was all my heart could do

Hope was all I had until you came
Maybe you can't see how much you mean to me
You were the dawn breaking the night
The promise of morning light
Filling the world surrounding me

When I hold you
(*) Baby, Baby
Feels like maybe things will be all right
Baby, Baby
Your love's made me
Free as a song singin' forever

(**) Only yesterday when I was sad
And I was lonely
You showed me the way to leave
The past and all its tears behind me

Tomorrow may be even brighter than today
Since I threw my sadness away
Only Yesterday

I have found my home here in your arms
Nowhere else on earth I'd really rather be
Life waits for us
Share it with me

The best is about to be
So much is left for us to see
When I hold you.

these people are not a family
this house is not a home
it's an empty house with empty people
just dying to be alone

this reflection is not of me
nor is it of my soul
it's of a girl with a broken smile
hiding away from this tainted world

I no longer know who I am
or the things which I have done
though I suppose I went astray
and that's why everyone has gone

there is no comfort in the things I once loved
no light remains in my eyes
just a black that swallows all emotion
and leaves me there to die

why does no one hear me scream
why does no one seem to care
it's as if there is no longer a reason
to carry these burdens that I bear
the black, it filters through

restlessness grips me
and loneliness settles in

squeezes me in its hands
and refuses to let me go;

i've come to realize that there are people who emphasize this misery i'm feeling so i shut the door and windows close and i don't talk

and all i have become
is alone.
