Holding her hand
he watches her
take her final breath.
A tear trickles down his face
he feels his heart tremor
and falls down, motionless.
His beloved was taken away
so he chased after her
through the clouds
of the heavens above.

Another day
has passed me by
the sun has set
the moon did rise.
I look above
at the moon so bright
and dream of love
of Mrs. Right.

I've always found I love the dot dot dots.
Maybe because they feel so unfinished
(like me).
Maybe because I enjoy repetition and threes.
Maybe because those dots look like they’re going somewhere.

I overuse them
(I know).
Abuse
and manipulate
and put them in
and take them out…

And of all the punctuation marks
and parts of English grammar,
They have yet to let me down.

? leaves me with so much doubt.
! overexcites me and then
leaves me disappointed with the main event.
.’s feels so final.
I’m a comma *****,
My college English professor told me that
And I so liked the label
I haven’t changed my scandalous ways.

I do enjoy a good ( ).
So many ways to use them.
e.e. taught me that.

But

win in the end.
And
Don’t you just want to know
what more there is to say?

Kiss

The fire is raging
as my passion explodes.
Heart beating so fast
my chest might implode.
I pull you in close
and our lips they do meet.
Such an affectionate moment
so perfect and sweet.
The fire burned brighter
for every second we kissed.
And all that was around us
ceased to exist.

I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

Lace Moon

Such a pretty face
with a body beneath
a tattered dress
Yesterday a new moon
wearing a paper smile
escaped with finesse
Chandeliers of mistaken dreams
illuminates a petty farce
Cascading moonbeams
hide behind
a concrete mask
dance oh pretty one
dance for me
beneath the moonlight
dance, be free

Underneath a lace moon
wearing a concrete mask
dance in step
with meloncholy
while you laugh
Interesting
to discover at last that
what you wanted
isn't what you wanted.

And that what you want
is nothing at all.

Wilfred Owen
[I saw his round mouth's crimson deepen as it fell],
Like a Sun, in his last deep hour;
Watched the magnificent recession of farewell,
Clouding, half gleam, half glower,
And a last splendour burn the heavens of his cheek.
And in his eyes
The cold stars lighting, very old and bleak,
In different skies.
