require eloquent speakers
people who can
rouse the crowd
or calm it down
people who know
how things should be
but they're all talking
about other things
should I say something
i'd probably be ignored
possibly for the best.

I can't honestly say
I know how things
should be
I could lie
But you know me
Just well enough
To see through that
but for comforts sake
We could pretend.

it makes sense
in the present
and less and less
the more hindsight
it receives.

A Misuse of nature
the tall oak
up on the hill
With strong branches
a place to hang out
with the crows
at least
they didn't do it
here in town.

Say the right thing

good morning is a good start
but
that is too
cheerful
i'm not here by choice
can I complain
that would be natural
No normal people are polite.

Observing
the fast food crowd
A Harried mother
with crazed kids
A geeky dad
with one shy child
A youngish man
with a face full of ink
A young woman
just here for water
and an old couple
they seem happy
the list could go on
A full crowd with little
to nothing to do with each other
I'd like to read their minds.

Keep your eye
On the prize
So simple
