I saw him laying there
still, so very still
I thought he was dead
gone
already passed through
to the other side

Then his chest rose
up, aghast
struggling for breath
his eyes winced
legs pulling up into his chest
feet flailing and twitching

I could feel
the pain that ran through
his fragile, still body
cold, small, and grey
and I stood back from his bedside
my eyes still focused
on his shaking frame

Death hung heavy in the air that day
I could smell it on his skin
God was waiting
to take him home
but still he held on,
breathing and stopping
breathing and stopping

Life is strange sometimes
made even stranger by the reality
of death
of opening oneself
to the never ending abyss
to the ever after when the rainbow has passed

Goodbye, love
I'll be seeing you,
on the other side

His eyes pierced my soul
His crooked smile made my heart break
His hatred for life made me weak
He was like dark chocolate, a decadent need
He was everything I despised in a man
Arrogant, snide, rude and aggressively mean
He was beautiful, a sight to behold
He was everything and nothing all at once
He could sense weakness in everyone he would meet
His eyes were knowing and clouded
His disdain for people was attractive,
like the pull of gravity
He was the perfect fallen angel, scorned,
dark and vengeful
He pulled me into the darkness buried deep
within my heart
He made me fall like Lucifer to the black
abyss below
His charm ****** me in, he was a sneaky
as a snake
He was all I ever wanted, the one thing
I didn't need
Temptation, however, never tasted so sweet.

Sweep me off my feet
Make me feel complete
Damage me not
Begging you please

Don't get bored
Don't leave me floored
Don't leave me glued to you
Unless you stay with me, boo

Shower me with affection
Prove to me your passion
Or leave before I die
Of bittersweet infatuation

You are stronger
Than any drug
I have ever taken
But I can't live on
This addiction
For a lifetime

Sometime I'll reclaim myself
Get back to sparkling health
Forget that I ever got lost
In the wonderland of love

Have you ever spoken to the moon?
I wonder how many secrets its craters hold.
I wonder if the secrets are what give it it's beauty.
I ask you, does your soul wander when you look up to the night sky,
Then get lost between the moon rocks?
Do you see yourself reflecting back?
Or the man on the moon watching, observing and protecting you?
Is it a refreshing feeling knowing you are insignificant
Against a giant porcelain beauty?
Does the coolness of the moons beams fill you,
And give you new hope in a home long destroyed?
Can you find peace within the moon?
Can you find peace within me?
Close your eyes, search deeper in your veins.
You'll find beauty, peace and happiness soon enough.

but that is old sun
and this is new sun
I will take pictures
of myself in the light
and be beautiful
on my own.

the bank said it
was 73 degrees out
at 10 pm and I realized
that in the end we
were just a
girl and
a boy
who came upon
each other like
leaves, seasons,
snowflakes, rain,
bumped without
warning, but we
held our palms
out, swung, we
were flung apart
but that's okay.
that's okay
that's okay
it's okay.

I see you blended
into my artwork, a
pencil smudge or
shape in the carpet
alight in yellow paint
dusted over in eraser
shavings, drawn out
in miscellaneous shapes
and misplaced lines, I
drew you out till the
last strings, the last
lead, the last words
