Why is thou, my Muse, bereft of care,
For all that my Heart doth hold in esteem?
To take a risk, perchance, to dare,
I divulged the diamond of my dream,
Of kin hearts united by love's native genius,
That knows not church or nation,
To labour for her treasure is a task grievous;
For she is meant to give with no ration.
Yet thou dost insist on our being cleft,
A fuel to incessant infatuation,
I give my Heart till there's nothing left,
In hope of effecting persuasion.
But to thee no plea can e'er be made,
Thou dost dwell in the jaded cynic's abade.

The Most Unusual Jewel
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
I saw the most unusual jewel
Of ruby and aquamarine
Its majestic hues had me in thrall
O Beauty unlike I've ever seen
Wrenched from the crown of Gaia
It inspired me to rejoice and sing
Of it's beauty, along to ancient lyres
Most cherishable of things
If I could stow away with it in my heart
I'd be the happiest poet on Earth
Enamoured of its beauty stark
It warmths the breadth of my heart's girth
O tell me is there a joy as you
    O moving, magic ruby blue

A Dream
Megan Sherman Jul 2018
He heard the war howl in the sooty night
Dread in his guts at the meaning of the sight
Of all the dead that he ever did see
Going one by one when they ought live free
On they pass, the millions
Sacrificed for devil’s trillions
Brothers, sisters all, from first to last
Peace on their mast as on, they passed
Friends who Loved as they grafted, played
Hearts shame a tyrant’s stone and staid
That lusts to bury Peace in the bed
No Love from that cold rock bled
He, the hero with handsome heart
Sought to vanquish what hell impart
A long, long fight he has fought to bring
Peace to Earth, to hear her sing
On golden wing aspiring
Grafting, never tiring
A soul and heart of brazen fire
Burnished with colours of desire
Vision suffice to be sung to lyres
Sings end of war, can love no more
And for that day he grafts, aspires
And tyrant tremble as he roar
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
One morn a muse meandered in to mind
Carolling soft in sacred tongue
The spirited song of kindred hearts
Clan to which my own belongs
She stroked my mind with fearsome flame
When all the world had dropped dead
Stoking bright and cosmic spark
At the center of my head
The ebb and flow of epiphanies
Through percipient perception course
Strange, explosive truths yielded
From deep, divinest source
Her mind is wider than the skies
Which ring with her luscious lullabies

To those who doubt its truth,

A kind of beauty rare, forsooth.

My angel, boy lama, eviscerated of strength, my funny Valentine
Bang bang the shots, woke the cots, in which babes cry as he wilts and rots,
Hidden had been the one with heart regressed and barbed in brine,
Make fetid feast of humanity like one of hell's rats,
But immortality consists in manifestation of loves lights deed
In the here and now and so as we to future go dreaming, rocking to and fro
Your Peace become others' and world with fresh dreams bleed
You tower over time's rains like celestial rainbow

The sky’s alight, it sings

A disc of beauteous joy

This much I know that news is show
An agenda drums a beat
And when the military elites at work
They strut on lying feet
The ones with muddy boots beguiled
By propaganda rank
Their bodies pile up higher
On the planes and riverbanks
As bankers plate of coins fills up
Was it the rothschilds in that plane
Shooting up those journalists
Or Halliburton,whatever, they're the same
I believe in innocence
Doth yet withstand a cynics trial
And as a girl i know how men
Pressure and beguile
Just stack the facts which we not lack
Despite securities façade
They sought to **** one with the knack
For making the heroic grade
A special ops one of their props
Sorry but it's true
Women pit against a friend
Dr King would rue
Friends keep secrets but i can't help
Light up your life with this

O Yield To Me

O yield to me o wandering companion,
Admit my Heart to Passion's elusive kingdom,
Wherein the birds of Paradise take flight,
Begetting song of joy and eternal delight.

Borne aloft on incandescent, divine zephyr,
Effusing from transcendent, otherworldly ether,
I am swept up in a hurricane, that rolls and waves,
My mesmerized Heart raves, across this reality's enchanted plane.

Love, a beau blooming blossom to be in awe of, to devour,
Through every wild and carefree hour,
So yield to me like water, wine,
And fathom Love and soar divine.

"Love" is the thing
Megan Sherman Nov 2016
“Love” is the thing which decorates the soul
That makes it bright, effulgent, warm
Love’s work there never stops at all
And is not by time erased or deformed

But a wall was built around my soul
To fend off the touch of the unknown
But one day I’d like a stranger’s soul
To take inside to meet my own

But who would want to paint my soul?
I’m one of billions in the throng
Maybe in time I will bloom
Or learn to capture them with song

Summer In Paradise
Megan Sherman May 2017
A sun of bright and blazing fire,
Embroils deep with my desire,
Summoning me to its embrace,
Kissing with its warmth the hollows of my face,
A smorgasboard of molten colour,
Beckons at me, summons me near,
I become swept up, in hurricane,
that rolls and waves across the plane
of one reality in to another.

'Tis here where spirits dwell and brood,
Feasting on fine celestial food,
On wings, a sight on which to swoon,
Beauty, whose time is e'er noon,
The Faeries with the Earth embroiled,
Gestating deep, sunk in soil,
Words are whispered by the trees
Life is flowing through the breeze,
Without care or toil.

An Angel in the evening,
Cast light upon my nest,
I could tell, his presence kindled,
A sunshine in my breast,
All night long I had the urge,
To grab and kiss his hands,
In perfect calm we could surge,
Over troubled sands,
I've seldom met a spirit,
So steadfast and so kind,
I muse upon you wantonly,

Why should seeking that be a thing of contention?

I'm at your side, Love, I'm at your side

I'm at your side, Love, I'm at your side
I'm tired of trapsing the labyrinth
And exalting you on passion's plinth
I wish I could go, retreat and hide
But I'm at your side, Love, I'm at your side

I'm at your side, Love, I'm at your side
There's nothing left for me to say
I wish that I could have my way
But I'll be cynic expecting love to, away, glide
When I'm at your side, Love, at your side

I dream
I dream of us listening
To the radio and audiobooks
Curled up, cuddled, holding tight
In comfy cushioned crannies, nooks
Deep in dream
I wistful, sigh
dream of our fingers entwined
Imagine stomachs full, livers wined
I dream
A dream of revelry
To have your heart beating
Next to me
I dream
Our minds are waltzing, one
Having fun
Under the sun
I write to you
You write to me
About your dreams
In dream I see
Your soul laid bare
The candor there
I dream
Of beauty sweet, so rare
And giving you perfect care

In his dreamy, dappled light
Frolicking till the morrow
Immersed in sheer delight
Waltzing hand in hand we went
Traversing through the wilds
I am risen, no more blind
I am again a child

A ray of light and emerald green,
Envelops me, makes me serene,
From whence it came I do not know,
But see light beam going to and fro,
With aura got from dream.

This is a song in praise of soothing light,
That stokes our hopes in depth of night,
Filling children with delight,
Helping them to soar, take flight,

Hath never seen such a joyous sight,
Inspires me with passions fight,
This is a song for all earth's children,
Born in the celestial cauldron,
May light end their existential blight.

My magic ray of heaven
Megan Sherman Aug 2017
My magic ray of Heaven
For eternity devote
To the plight of glorious light
Which spreads in beams and motes

He sauntered in to vision
An unusual hue
Messages succinct, concision
Was medium of gods word true

He works for shiva, not Abraham
So don't get all confused
It's a pluralist democracy of souls
In heaven, towards which I cruised

He complemented poetry
Which I had, amused, written
He called me literary kitten
Of which he was most smitten!

How could I resist that charm
Tis becoming to a babe
Not all the dark could sully him
Nor ravages of age

Those who will him harm
Will only create their own decay
Watch us fly, in enchanted sky
As we weave and wend in brighter day

Paean To A Pearl

Rambunctious music of thine soul emit
Jarred raw lilts that seize, capture soul
In heady mountain music of sweet sensuous spirit
Melody capture hearing hearts, enthral
Imbued with languid lust, rebel's thrill
Tears down tradition's time-worn walls
A cherub placed on high Heaven's bill
Juicier, riper than apple in the fall
Unites the heart with one and all
As mind hears harmony, hears its call

Oh to listen in the summer to that enchanted drawl
Sublime soundtrack to my cosmic quest
Crowds sway and clap and cheer and dance
To world fusion jazz, rule youth east and west
Our harping to your divine inspiration attest
In which luscious light of love manifest
Song for which the heart is blessed
Its fury flame will tell, attest
blessed fire aura adorn thy voice
In which the sound of God rejoice

Yours is the force that put the spark in matter,
The hands that sculpt, making me less inert.

Accustomed to the rays,

In which the Saints believe,

And so, as babe, with awestruck eye,
I strode in to the festering view,
Of manifesting Nature, and I wake
To watch the world in bloom.

Love
Megan Sherman May 2017
Tell me Love, wouldn't it be great,
If there were no pain to speak of, no bitterness, no hate,

Only love suffice to ignite,
A poet's heart to soar, take flight.

To dream of wonderful and beautiful things,
Take flight wrapped up in angels wings.

To laugh your heart out and dance in the rain,
To sing away sorrows and forget all your pain.

To live, love and laugh and of sorrows forget,
For life's too short to fill with regret.

No despair to berate, only Love and delight,
That adds colour and sparks to the slow creeping, night.

No need to shoot, to punch, to take aim,
To throw words like poison in to each others brains.

Each accusation canters like a runaway train,
Each one of them is my disdain.

O love, tell me, wouldn't it be divine,
If you could see truth in my own heart like in thine.

No cynical riposte which ties me up in brine,
But to the path of righteousness each word align.

I believe in a god who looks down from above,
who wraps all his children in laughter and love.

I've seen him with my own very eyes,
Soaring and sauntering through majestic skies.

He is most caring and he is most kind,
Who plants the healing flower in everyone's minds.

He is the one who will shoulder our pain,
Wherever we find dismay and disdain.

Raising his voice above the evil throng,
So all on the earth can dance to his song.

When we are down he will send his affection,
and make sure it's received in our direction.

A most radical woman named Mary
Has faith in the existence of her own innate strength
For her time, it’s an opinion most contrary
And maketh her many adversaries

She moves and mingles in circles fluent
In the lofty language of ideas
But she is still most incongruent
Her airs and graces lack, are truant

Like every literate liberal learning
Through diatribes of how corrupt Society is
For a better deal for all she’s yearning
Her passion for justice a beacon burning

Grows to detest privilege, rank and station
Those ghastly bars behind our eyes
For women’s rights she seeks vindication
Publishing a wild sensation

Its arguments are sound, sophisticated, sage
Giving elegantly eloquent expression to her thoughts
But the pamphlet nonetheless generates vast opprobrium, outrage
It offends the sensibilities and the mores of her cruel age

Saying Society enervates women of their strength replete
Mary’s verse is passionate, informed, incendiary
Saying women can be competent and women can compete
On the same plane as men, achieving the same feats

But such ideas are too advanced for the day they were incepted
They are vehemently beleaguered by the defenders of the realm
We will have to wait for centuries before Mary’s words are respected
It’s a tragedy it took so long for her wisdom to be detected

To love, or cede to dark, that is the choice:
Be the force of light overwhelming, it is yet besieged
By the knives and punches of circumstance
Which yet the Heart transcend
And in its echolocation with like Heart sings. To beam - to soar
In perpetual eternity. The Heart never sleeps,
Constituted by its aches and victories
That resembles ten thousand suns blazing on in song
Incarnated in the flesh of the lover
Love is heir to childhood
Consummating divine principles
To which the faithful are devout
For in the blaze of love and life we wake to go wild
And wear our hearts on our sleeves, proud,
Committed to Heaven from which rose a great knight
My lover, whose destiny sublime
To vanquish hell and transcend time

Beleaguered with thee I haste me to sleep,
The sweet kingdom wherein I find my deepest bliss,
But then doth start a count of sheep,
Interrupted by bonny bait of your elusive kiss;
For that coy pleasure I would give treasures, alms,
Or a multitude of illustrious verses,
Present to you with Lover's palms,
Still you blight my day with cruelty, curses.
O Lord, save my soul from this dankest cage,
So I should not be a captive of unfruitful Loves,
So I should enjoy my youth and age,
In flight, like one of Peace's turtle doves.
In Love, alive, in Love's dearth, dead,
