A fire, pierced the dark
We do not know its flame
Only that within a bang
The elements, they came

And then, the fire raged
Expansion, from the core
And then condensed in to the things
The Hubble searches for

We glance with star struck eyes
At orbs of transcendent light
They look like winking beads, I thought
In their epic flight

Like life, they’re superstructures
I offer them my awe
As I row upon the Milky Way
As I step out the door

Beneath the cosmic canopy
That mystical frontier
Beneath which we can’t comprehend
Its truths so strange and queer

A Gun fires in the day
He did not see him come
He gasped his fated final breath
And Death became his home

And then, he reaped, he flew
From Earth to Other world
And then stood before St Christopher
His mighty scroll unfurled

The saint glanced sad with tearful eyes
Let John through to walk God’s grass
“‘Tis a crime against the Lord
To let a Beatle pass.”

He walked to Jesus, sat with him
A fellow and a friend
Ascended brothers side by side
As God watch, round the bend

Like Jesus had, God sewed John wings
Stitched with platinum hue
And he laboured with the feathers
To adorn an angel true

No bullet shatter Heaven
Too strong and unified
The angel squad can ne’er be killed
John Lennon never died

Red ardour beats upon my breast
I quite adore thy heart
And mine is cowed at love’s behest
In mutual rapport
I wonder of the good to come
For proximity to you
And we are one if we are sum
My darling lover true

My weakest spot of all
Is the look upon your face
That gazed upon me vulnerable
After fall from grace

Zephyrs stir within my heart
That carry me to heaven
Beyond a hell without no art
A void of brimstone, craven

For once I can be innocently
Enamoured of thy bliss
Tis to be a poet
To see sunshine as thy kiss

Decorate my life dear love
And paint upon its walls
With wanton wild abandon
Whilst I be pilgrim rapt in thrall

He heard the war howl in the sooty night
Dread in his guts at the meaning of the sight
Of all the dead that he ever did see
Going one by one when they ought live free
On they pass, the millions
Sacrificed for devil’s trillions
Brothers, sisters all, from first to last
Peace on their mast as on, they passed
Friends who Loved as they grafted, played
Hearts shame a tyrant’s stone and staid
That lusts to bury Peace in the bed
No Love from that cold rock bled
He, the hero with handsome heart
Sought to vanquish what hell impart
A long, long fight he has fought to bring
Peace to Earth, to hear her sing
On golden wing aspiring
Grafting, never tiring
A soul and heart of brazen fire
Burnished with colours of desire
Vision suffice to be sung to lyres
Sings end of war, can love no more
And for that day he grafts, aspires
And tyrant tremble as he roar

I miss you like the sky misses the sun
When night by stealth descends upon the day
If we are sum then surely we are one
To be divided, source of my dismay
Thine eyes I long to see, to peer in deep
Thy smile that warms my heart, I long for so
For thee I devote psalms and tender weep
As thoughts of you come to mind never go

Who’s there? Who’s there upon my stair?
The stench of fear is in the air
My heart wilts, with thy glide
That eerie repose in thy stride
Past the Rose’s revelry
Under Bird’s sweet artistry
With scythe and sceptre at his side
That eerie repose in his stride
Through the door, in the house
A creak, a stir, I start to rouse
Affront by ghastly hooded shadow
For which great men are weeping widow
These fears must be confusing
Viewed from the outside
Borne aloft on potent waves
Of emotions tides
I struggle against delusions
Surrender all control
Drowning in the waters
As the cold enters my soul
My moods must be confusing
And it must be cruel to see
A soul become a captive
To pain and misery
