What is you or me or anyone anymore?
To have no definition-
be us opinions, facts, or fairytales-
is to be no one;
or rather to be everyone
and who says what she is
or I am (by definition)
with a glance,
for her eyes are empty and cavernous
seeking solace in something she imagines
until she is stamped
to become no one
            someone
everyone;
until she is defined by this/that;
until she is who others say;
until then, she is not she,
but rather, "she"-one question:
Is it a choice?
Don't you dare tell me I'm free
Then laugh when I do something wrong
Don't tell me you trust
and you believe
Then show me you lied all along

You tell me she tried,
so hard that she cried
But what you don't know
is what was inside
of me with you
there was so much more
than you had thought

No I wouldn't tell
there was far too much
And for me you don't know how hard that was

I couldn't share,
it wasn't yours,
now I know you care,
but what for?

And you couldn't have told me
sooner
either
just kept it behind my back

I hope you two
had a lot of laughs
with that joke you pulled
a couple weeks back

The one where you both
faked to care
about a person you both
wished wasn't there

You told me you'd say
if something were wrong
you lied.

You told me I was free
to live as I want
you lied.

If there was someone else,
you told me you'd tell
I'm not surprised you lied.

You told me you valued honesty.
You love, you crave, transparency.
I don't believe a word of this mess
Darling dear, I am skeptical at best.
Language dancing like laughter
as you bustle by
I suddenly realize
that I am in your debt
for smiles too numerous
to count.
And here we go again like two children
You’re mad at me, I’m mad at you
Over and over, it just never ends
Seems like everyday it’s something new

In an ocean of words
You want me to find the ones
That will make everything better
Believe me if I could, I would
And i’d drown us in every last letter

But as the questions fall unanswered down your face
I know the truth is, it’d still be too late

Maybe we’re both wrong, maybe we’re both right
Maybe this is simply an unwinnable fight
Maybe we’ve been trying to move mountains all this time
So maybe we should just call it a night

And if tomorrow we wake up to find
That both of our hearts have died
Well at least we can say that we tried

Frustration has made us believe we don’t care
Till it feels like there’s no point in trying
And every second spent getting nowhere
Is just another second spent lying

We lie to ourselves because
Nowadays it’s easier to pretend
Instead of finding our way out
Of all the broken pieces,
The building tensions,
And all our growing doubts

But as the questions fall unanswered down your face
I know the truth is, things will never be the same

Maybe we’re both wrong, maybe we’re both right
Maybe this is simply an unwinnable fight
Maybe we’ve been trying to move mountains all this time
So maybe we should just call it a night

And if tomorrow we wake up to find
That both of our hearts have died
Well at least we can say that we tried
At least we can say we tried…

And we just keep falling
Falling between the cracks
With nothing
Nothing to lead us back

And as the questions fall unanswered down your face
I know we'll never be too lost to find a way…

And if tomorrow we wake up to find
That both of our hearts have died
Well at least we can say that we tried
At least we can say that we once loved…
I Am Sorry
For All The Poems
I Have Not Read.
I Think It Was
The Spacing.
Or Perhaps
The Title.
