I have never felt
So broke and so alone
Since I joined College
"College is the time you will be the most broke and the most alone you've ever been"

Last night I had a dream
I swam with sharks under the sea
Last night I had a dream
I was as tall as an oak tree
(Anything can come)
Last night I had a dream

Last night I sang a song
That made you want to sing along
Last night I sang a song
And then you said, I sang it wrong
(Anything can come)
Last night I sang a song

Last night the credits played
As underneath the stars we laid
Last night the credits rolled
But that could never stop our stroll
(Anything can come)
      Last night the credits played

Last night turned scarlett red
I met a stranger and she said:

"Dreams are only in your head
Until you wake them out of bed
And if the monsters do come near
Just remember, I'll be here"

Last night I had a dream
I swam with sharks under the sea
Last night I had a dream
And then you woke up next to me

Nights like these
Are what makes poetry
So easy, sometimes
Cause when I think of my lines
My head starts to smoke
And I begin to choke
As I remember the places
And cry away the faces

The more I look toward
The end, I know I'm gonna crack
Even though I keep pointing a finger forward
I keep pointing three back

I've been beaten
I've been bruised
I've been eaten
I've been used

I was cremated
I have cried
I was sedated
I have died

I have starved
I have lost dreams
I was never carved
Into trees

I am in debt
I have been rushed
Like an insect
I have been crushed

I have wiped out
I've been let down
I have had doubt
I am lost and found

But just like changing the channel
Does not change the weather
I have been loved
And that made me better

It's crazy
But I thought
You would like to see me

I think I
Know better now
Delusions of adequacy

Holding the wall up, and feeling alone
You pick up the receiver, but hear dial tones
And suddenly stronger, you dial the phone

Unwrapping the number crumpled on your desk
You swim in uncertainty, but pray for the best
Cause things always turn around, you'll bounce back I guess

Ask if they're still hiring part time
You request dollar bills, but you only make dimes
As if living your life is such an awful crime

Brag to the waitress, you survived another day
As you throw your old poems into the ash tray
Hopefully your dreams will thaw out by May

But being a Winter, you feel more alone
You stick to the wall, and your skin becomes stone
Cause the Walls will not stand, if you decide to leave home
Criticism is encouraged
