I met you through a common friend
in the attic of my parents' house,
and though I didn't know it then,
I soon was finding out;
oh, you are the roots that sleep beneath my feet
and hold the earth in place.

Each time a faucet opens
words are spoken.
The water runs away
and I hear your name.
No, nothing has changed.

There was a book I read and loved;
the story of a ship
who sailed around the world and found
that nothing else exists
beyond his own two sails and wooden shell
and what is held within.

All else is sure to pass.
We clutch and grasp
and debate what's truly permanent.
But when the wind starts to shift,
well, there's no argument.
Now I sing and drink and sleep on floors
and try hard not to be annoyed
by all these people worrying about me.

So when I'm suffocating through some awful drive,
you occasionally cross my mind.
It's my hidden hope that you are still among them.
Well are you?

Oh, you are the roots that sleep beneath my feet
and hold the earth in place.
Each time a curtain opens,
sunlight pours in.
A lifetime melts away
and we share a name
on some picturesque grave.
I want to spend sixty years married to you.

I want to forget what it feels like to grocery shop without you driving.
I want to stop remembering what it felt like to only wash my laundry.
I want to have the smell of you become the smell of home;
I want to get lost in the back of your mind,
in the back of your heart so that every thought and beat includes me.

I want to hire an architect and watch him build our home,
I want to plant a garden with you.
I want to joke that you killed the plants we both neglected to water.
I want to fall in love with your glow every single morning for the next sixty years.

I want to make wine with you,
And I want to drink too much of it at our kitchen table.
I want to fold you seamlessly into every sentence I craft.

I want to buy dogs with you, and laugh with you.
I want to tease you until you scream,
I want to call ******* whenever you're wrong,
And I want to forgive you for every mistake you'll ever make,
and I hope you'd forgive me of mine.

I want to laugh and laugh and laugh until we cry.
I want to make you dinner every night,
and I want to dry our dishes.
I want us to become a single entity in our friends minds.
I want us to flow perfectly into infinite love.

I want to kiss you until our lips are tender,
And I want to fall in love with you some more.
I want to fight and cry with you until our last days on earth.
I want to make love to you for the next sixty years.

I want every word I say to you to be the poetry I see in you.
It is still a little rough. More editing to come!

but it is not your fault.
You are trying your hardest to
(re)capture my attention.

And despite my slight fascination with the
curve
of
your
mouth

I still find my mind wandering through
thoughts of the last person who sat across from me
trying to conjure up a smile,

and how quickly I walked away.
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly go the days.
Sunrise, sunset
You wake up then you undress.
It always is the same.
The sunrise and the sunsets
You are lying while you confess, keep trying to explain
the sunrise and the sunsets.
You realized then you forgot what you've been trying to retain.
But everybody knows that it is all about the things
that get stuck inside of your head,
like the song your roommate sings
or a vision of her body as she stretches out on your bed.
She raises her hands in the air, asked you,
when was the last time you looked in the mirror?
'Cause you've changed.
Yeah, you've changed.
Sunrises, sunsets
You're hopeful then you regret.
The circle never breaks.
With a sunrise or a sunset there's a change of heart or address.
Is there nothing that remains
for a sunrise or a sunset?
You're manic and depressed.
Will you ever feel okay?
For a sunrise or a sunset your lover is an actress.
Did you really think she'd stay
for a sunrise or a sunset?
You're either coming or you just left, but you're always on the way
towards a sunrise or a sunset, a scribble or a sonnet.
They are really just the same.
To the sunrise and the sunset,
the master and the servant have exactly the same fate.
It's a sunrise and a sunset
from a cradle to a casket
there is no way to escape
the sunrise and the sunset.
Hold your sadness like a puppet, keep putting on the play.
But everything you do is leading to the point
where you just won't know what to do.
And at that moment you may laugh,
but there is someone there who will be laughing louder than you.
So it's true; the trick is complete.
Become everything you said you never would be.
You're a fool! You're a fool!
Sunrise, sunset, sunrises, sunsets
Sunrise and the sunsets.
Sunrise, sunset
Where are you Arienette?
Where are you Arienette?
I'm gonna fall down, but at least I know I tried
I wish I could help you there but my hands are tied
Stay out there for a while waiting for the light
I cannot say what is wrong, but I know I am right

Hey, sorry about your car
I'm sure it would have gotten real far
but I know you are
and I put in a jar, it'll grow into a star
Then I'll let it go, then I'll let it go, let it shine

I just want to get my point across
Can't you just listen to my side?
Can't you just listen to my side?
I just want to get my point across

Most of it's on fire
It doesn't take much to get a person wired
Set it down, just push it away
and the waste basket kills everyone
I'm sorry about your car
I'm sure it would have got real far
I still hope you are
I'll put it in a jar and it'll grow into a star
and then I'll make it mine
Yeah and then I'll make it mine

And I know that you're just so trendy
You get sick inside, just look at you
Hang it on a wall by a post and don't let them see it there
Oh, put me in a waste basket!

Hey, sorry about your car
I know I could have made it start
Man, I tried so hard to make it
make it try to grow into a star
Then I'll blow you up, push it in my face,
put me out of place
I'm losing the race, then I'll let it go
Yeah, no one has to know
because I'll put it in the car
Yeah, sorry about it, sir
and then I'll put it in a jar and it'll go real far.
Another from 1994
United pairs, fall apart, with a broken heart.
can't they see, it just wasn't meant to be.
Everynight they lay in dark, thinking 'bout,
how there life turned upside down.
Wondering if they'll ever make it throgh.
Knowing that, its just to good to be true.
Till the time comes, when the world reminds them.

Can't you see, your love is a travesty.
But then you remind me, of the good times that we shared.
Can't we be, forever eternity.
Like two locks with one key.
it doesnt have to be;
Every hearts tragedy.

Talking through, there issues, is hard enough.
But looking at, eachothers eyes, they see a great surprise.
Asking why, there love divides, everytime.
Tryin' find, there love inside, it seems to want to hide.
Remembering all that they have been through.
Hopeing that, they can move on too.
Till the time comes, when they feel it inside them.

Can't you see, your love is a travesty.
But then you remind me, of the good times that we shared.
Can't we be, forever eternity.
Like two locks with one key.
It doesnt have to be,
Every hearts tragedy.

Now we see, they come alive, no more fights.
Hold the lies, share their minds, happiness collides.
And now we know that love will find a way.
Until another every hearts tragedy.
