I drive too dashing
Not to impress
but because my feet can't stop shaking

I walk too fast
Not to digress
but because your cold shoulders are aching.

I talk too much
Not to transgress
but because I'm buzzing

I wish not to boast, ambush, or blather

I need to slow down
I realize
Then
You'll be here longer
I went from rain to clouds,
then clouds to mist.
I was gone for a while;
please tell me what I missed.

I went from mist to leaves,
then leaves to sun.
I am here now;
please tell me where I'm from.

Lost in reverie
Of being with you
So far and yet, so close
No good wishing for what can't.

Hope in words
To redeem found spark
Never assume, always ask
Can't ever know what reward awaits.

So, lark some more
By window ajar, lovebirds
Flutter onward with affection
Whose depth can be but felt in song.

Star Toucher,  22 March 2013
To anyone who's ever felt the futility of a hopeless situation...and yet still hopes, in spite of it!
