Poetry, to me
is a spontaneous expression
using my senses

I looked out my window
I thought it had snowed
but it had not
it was just
a deep ground frost

Hush descended
as the white quiet snowflakes
fell yet again

The kerfuffle
was caused by the workers
The stress made people tremble
and seemed indefinite

Hippos like mud
and children sometimes too
They jump and splash in the mud
thinking it's good to do

The builder's *** exists
(I have recently seen one or two)
I have been wondering why
I now realize they can't do their belts up tight
with all the bending and lifting they have to do

"It's an enigma"
my cool friend-blood sister said-
why bubbles burst

Under the sun
that shone
innocently
on the desert
We saw a straw mirage
In the distance
it seemed real
Actually it was finite

"If you don't use it you will lose it"
they say
Walking running swimming
hiking and cycling
take the potato out the door
When you have it for tea
you'll enjoy it
even more

On the tip of my tongue
when I am inside, I feel safe
knowing my way around-
Outside, not so much-
I decide to take
an ordinance survey map with me

A hive of activity
met me
on this summery day

When knowing what to do
but not knowing how to do it

Inside himself he seems OK
going out on his scooter every day
he can converse and enjoy his food
unaware or aware
of the environment
in his home

Everywhere we go
Ivy is spreading tendrils
Please, what can we do?

Despite commotion
I could hear wild geese flying
Lovely sound to hear

Scaffolding is a skilled job,
I realized
as are all other jobs
in the building trade
Working in all weather
All credit and thanks to them!
Without their know-how
we would not have shelter

I don't know why
there are so many wasps
this year
They can be something to fear
How do we catch them
without hurting them?
