With the unrelenting sorrow that
the world feels for me; I wonder if I'm suppose
to be in a trance or should I be electric?
The sounds of silence are too strong.
I wonder if this is reality or just
sorrow.
I was listening to too much Hendrix oh god.

Head to the body
Swallow hot toddy

A dash of narcissism

To make the throat burn
Make my insides churn

A dollop of ego

And I'm getting drunk
On your self-absorbed funk

All mixed in hot

I do it recreationally
Unconnected emotionally

We pretend we care for one another

Twisting, spinning, agonizing pain!
Coming in crashing, smashing waves!
Overlapping, faster, faster, faster!
And then slowing to a stand still
Recovering from the drilling
My body is slowly chilling
But then it comes back!
I'm again under attack!
This torture, I do not lack.
How much my body hates me today.

Thousands of ants creeping and crawling
Around and over me
Forty floors, no one cares I'm falling
They mean nothing to me

Alone in a group of eleven
I don't play the same game
The odds are against me, not even
But I do know my name

I am usually gregarious
Now, alone with my thoughts
Anonymity not serious
Warm poems in my head, lots
With a group of ten others, mostly strangers who like to gamble, at an Atlantic City Casino this past weekend. I don't gamble! Not a deep poem, but alone in a crowd for three days causes one to be a bit shallow an introspective. Thanks for reading.

Men have eyes that dim with time
like bronze statues who've lost their shine...
But heroes and legends
from burrows and heavens
will live on eternal in vision and rhyme.

It doesn't take much
To make me grin
Just a woman's touch
It's not a sin

It doesn't take much
To make me smile
Just a little clutch
For a short while

It doesn't take much
To make me laugh
Just a tiny crutch
On a sinking raft

Tears cascade upon the Earth like meteorites
as we lie in the flower fields of India far away
I watch the sun rays play a story across your face
we whisper of past transgressions and travesties done to us
and how time moves slower here when we forget it all
we have waited so long to find this dream we pondered if it were real
we had at last found our way outside the worlds oblivious ways
gazing into each other we see our reflection lying in silence
finally falling to sweet repose as the moonlight draws us within her sweet blanket
no other warmth needed but one another

Chuck
Some moments are regretful
Others are embarrassing
Some moments are life changing
Others are forgetful

But every decade or so
A moment rambles by
That is the first sip of wine
The first love caught an eye
The last kiss before you die

Listen to this song again

Beginnings are uncanny ends

That moment

One occurrence

Seconds split between friends

What time is it?

Last laugh

Bell's ring

stumbles past

Ice cubes and cold air

Gasp

One more round, please

Gulp

I'm a bit nervous about doing this

Rather a bit anxious

between the stool and the poker chips

I've spent too much on this

What's your name ***?

We can tryst if you share your name

I can show you I'm not to blame

for the sadness and dim lights

and the shame

The tab is mine to claim

*You reek of whiskey and smoke
Still a draft
