Havoc
Lucy Tonic Jun 2015
You dangled the carrot in front of me
Said you wanted to multiply
I knew of all your schemes and pipe dreams
But I happily obliged
Now you're gone
And I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth
Cause the milk has long expired
So much for all those times I went south
Not trying to be bitter
You had to move on to greener pastures
But you know as well as I
You couldn't get away faster
Can you blame someone
For giving up on a freak
Can you blame someone
For wreaking havoc on your heart
We're so far apart now
You're keeping up your disguise
And the only time I ever saw depth in your eyes
Is when you never said goodbye
Lucy Tonic Oct 2012
We could have it made
An everlasting spark
From coffee to the bed, or none
From lightness into dark
We could touch with our fingers
Or with eyes of fire that catch
Our kid could be an Einstein
Or an egg that never hatched
We could swear upon the nothing
Or swear upon our graves
An everlasting spark-
We could have it made

So why the disconnection
Didn’t think we could be bought
But someone’s put a coffin out
For our many thoughts
In my mind we’re holding hands
With views of a free bird
In your mind you’re too afraid
So you choose to join the herd
Now my heart’s in pins and needles for you
My feet are cracked and bruised for you
For clearly I have fell for you
For clearly you never heard the bells
The fire in our heads is defeated
By the fire below your waist
And when the feeling’s not mutual
I feel like Ophelia
Watching you Judas me
With a Russian accent

We could have it made
An everlasting spark
For you

Fire is not the devil's playground
It's where angels go who can't be found
By something stronger than the purest numb
Like putting out a blue flame with your tongue
She wanted to die
She needed someone to put her
Out of her misery
She didn't mean no harm
So look out for her memory
And it helps, some
But she's drowning
In alphabet soup
The right went left
No sickness resounding
To anyone else
Cause to everyone else
She's the cork that stops the foam
From boiling over into homes and houses
She used to be quiet as a mouse is
Now she's a mute bird bagged with the cat
And that's that
Cause this is hell, she says
I've served my sentence
And I'm seeing red
And when I laugh
You won't see my head
It's back by the bushes
Hysterical, half-dead…
Fire is not the devils playground
It's where angels go who can't be found
By something stronger than the purest numb
Like twenty hard years under someone's thumb
Seasons change, she don't
It's only new threads, new friends
And the same smoke

Wasted
Lucy Tonic Jul 2015
She's in between a rock and a hard place
Faces don't smile at her anymore
Old friends lock their doors
And neighbors shut their drapes
And that's all it takes to be in hell
She transformed from a lamb into a black sheep
People don't smile anymore
Digging deep at the core
Of a rotten apple seed
And that's all she needs to never tell
What's on her mind, what's in her eyes
Blinded and traumatized
But she has tough skin
When she's smoking the liquids and
The consonants beat her down
Like the promises of the sounds
That soothe her, then leave her hanging around
By herself
Cause if you can't share love than love is wasted
Put on the shelf
By a man who swore he loved her taste
So she takes the bottle and starts to pour
Cause nobody smiles anymore
She's in between the demons and the sea
She wants to bring out her inner number three
But if you can't share love than love is wasted

Typically the savior gets attached
To the one who's falling that they catch
But this is a clear role reversal
Guess I missed too many play rehearsals
I suppose I was your Persephone
Hibernating winters on my knees
Soon your Zeus-like ego began to show
With all the focus on your lightning bolt
I was there through all eleven seasons
Throwing away caution, rhyme and reason
Now you say our future is yours only
Dividing a union that was holy
But I refuse to coil 'round your finger
Under thumb or stone I will not linger
Though I'm in between Satan and the sea
You will find you have no power o'er me

Love is the color blue
An ocean away from another
A sky away from yourself
Land is the color red
For pain
And green for life
Amidst this pain
Only are we at peace
In the pink an orange womb

Purgatory
Lucy Tonic Jul 2012
Nauseating waves of nihilism seep through my eyelids
All the doors of normalcy are locked-
Suddenly I have no fear of death
This is the in-between, the veil of life-
A sepia tone
Here we express our joy while excreting poison
Heaven must only have one extreme (if indeed it’s heaven)
Back to the blankets, but a discontinued thought
Here we can’t admit we’re already dead
Paying the piper
Or was it a past life, a past purgatory?
I have no fear of death
But I need answers soon-
A scavenger hunt for pieces of the soul
And they play music
And I’m out of my mind
How many more years till I figure it out?

Rumors
Lucy Tonic Nov 2011
Every hear-say has its heyday
Every rumor has its birth
And it stains the sheets of those that breathe it
It reigns supreme of those that face it
Did you ever wonder, ever?
Did you ever wonder?
Pea-brain with a caustic smile
Do you ever wonder?
He said this and she said that
Small-minded ****
I heard this and I heard that
But I don't give a ****
Circulating press like their own day-job
Doesn't matter you're just breaking the girl
Draining her life away
Did you ever perceive
That perhaps these words don't register
To the one whom it's about?
Did you ever conceive
That memory's a tricky thing?
Did you ever believe
That perhaps these words don't make sense
Until you realize you're being put down
In a code
It's all in a code
Of stares and glares and cheap hellos
I know, every rumor has some truth
So let's trade minds-
You'd collapse in an instant
If you knew what I knew
You take their words at
Poisoned-face value
Didn't know amity could be so shoddy
Didn't know it was all a nasty plot
This scarlet letter was pinned by you
Fastened tight by you
By those that once meant something
But let me ask you-
What do you know?
What do you stand for?
What do you see when you look outside
When inside doesn't matter?
I'm sorry to interrupt your leisure time
But mine is soon to run out
Yet I don't hate you, only pity
I only pity you
Or maybe I'm just speaking in sadness
But when your cosmic movie runs
Count me in
I made a disappearance
But count me in
So don't lean on me
When you can't afford a ticket
Out of cardboard city
When your life is dull or when you need a voice
I've got enough in my head
Thanks to you
Thanks to you the world's gotten smaller
Thanks to you I'm weary of strangers
Thanks to you I have no will to live
But I still love you-
Guess a fool is always a fool
Cause everyone knows
That those who truly care will
Help you tear down The Wall-
Not throw bricks in your direction

Fake Flowers Last Forever
Lucy Tonic Jul 2012
Perihelion days are here
Whale music and poison kitchens
From rainbows to shadows
This is the ripening

In a house of 1,000 rooms
A girl waved her finger to follow
But swaying her translucent dress
I saw the girl was hollow

Candles in the rain
Battles and butchery
Accidental intoxicants
Take your easel to the streets
Find another road
Avoid the body police
It’s a still world but moving mind
We all end up dead meat

I see them in a psychedelic state
But there’s no love
I met them in an overcrowded place
But it’s no home

Perihelion days are here
As the hours fill with nevers
This is the ripening
Fake flowers last forever

My soul resides
On the other side
Of some other galaxy
So stop trying to measure me
You've got scars
You've got history
You've got His Story
But it's not mine
When you've been
Without light
For so long
You start to speak more literally
Start to sing a different song
Cause there was nothing
Great white nothing
But the artist's pen
It burst
And the ink mixed
With her salty tears
And his ****** fears
And the compass
started to spin
The projector
Began to roll
And it's still spiraling
Out of control
To this day
I'm afraid
I'm afraid
I don't want the womb
I don't want the tomb
I'm afraid
An accident was made
Gives whole new meaning
To kid A
I'm afraid
I'm afraid
Black dove
Come take me away
I'm afraid
I'm talking to myself
Again

Like Jupiter in a strange land
Water colors and cannibals
Like lemon world, minus candy
And true promise and false let-downs
Like McCandless or a Thoreau
Down a river lacking mystic
Like a soldier safe from harm's way
Watching pen-pals throw big grenades
Like echoes heard from a black hole
Filled with demons and Madonna's
Like an idea in a time warp
Full of castles and time capsules
Like a fire burning brightly
By Eskimos throwing blankets
Like Orestes punished greatly
By loud sirens in double-bind
Like a big world in alignment
With a spindle made of chaos
Like paisley love remaining still
While new age brings adhesive hate
Like a black swan, last unicorn
Asleep during apocalypse
Like kind vultures killing a beast

Like a family unforgiving
Of an angel born of their blood
Like a bad cough in a clear throat

You can’t find me in a dictionary
So I can’t be human
As much as you love this race
You hate it just the same
Can’t decide between the two
So you want to lay me down
In a bed of weeds-
Waters always rushing-
You want to trap my soul
For my misdeeds-
Waters always rushing-
I wonder will I be plugged in
To the source-
Not your swords or cords
Can a heart’s halo crack the surface
I want to know
Cause the observer effect kills us all
Whether we jump, swim, walk or crawl
One little flutter, I could have flown away
Now I’m in a different place
With different kinds of art
And different listening devices

They filter through black holes

And the head explodes

But all you see is money
You see in shades of blue
And your prophets for hire
Are starting to get greedy
And the chemicals you use for warfare
They weren’t made in a factory, made in a lab
They grow organic in the land
And the drug is death but it comes in a pretty package
Those who distribute are the same ones who deal
And the ones who deal are the ones who ingest
And the ones who ingest end up a in prison
Where experiments are done, degrading and dumb
Until the free man becomes the farmer

Manifest your destiny
Make a wish, I'll take your memory
There is no law, I'm just your genie
Planting twisted seeds, to your head from my beak
I gave you mirrors, you made the ripples
I gave you pillows, you shunned the simple
And if you rip the feathers out, and shed your skin like I did
I'd bet you seven rainbows, I'd still get in your head
If you want me, you know where to find me
Crowing by the weathervane, or oozing down the chimney
Old man tree, here's a cigar for your tragedy
If you need me, I'll be in the clear, busy counting
Six for a second, *** for a minute
Six for a minute, *** for an hour
Six for an hour, *** for the weekend

Became your original sin
Became your aboriginal idea
I laugh at the mess you're in

The banished cloud in outer space
Traveled at a rapid pace
But it was not its will to go
Where its master told it so
Still it went where there was nothing
Hovering above like future stuffing
Till it cried and cried for ages
Forming waters, each tear’s wages
Then the spirit of the cloud
Went into the liquid, proud
All its salty tears had made
Below the surface, many shapes
Going up, it cried some more
Then went back down to see the score
The shapes began to have symmetry
And soon our oceans came to be
Still the cloud was unimpressed
It missed the old home it knew best
It had its creatures build a floor
To catapult threw surface door
The impact was tremendous waves
Inching forwards with every spray
Soon the ocean floor was broken
Each wave with debris its token
Till a piece of solid land
Formed amid the ocean’s band
Now the waves had a place to rest
And the cloud began to build its nest
Each drop of water made seeds in the ground
Trees were made, an Earth made its first sound
The map of green grew, from small and from great
The grid of one color, on a blue spinning plate
But in spite of its creatures, the cloud felt alone
It realized the trees would make better homes
He taught all his followers how to rise up
To crawl on the land, an eventually stand up
Some, above others, excelled for the better
Till their scaly features became wombs of feathers
So the question remains, what will this cloud become?
Why was it banished, by whom and where from?
Are there a group of dragons, living in the fiery sun?
Was the cloud a mere disguise for this banished one?
Cause even a dragon has wings to fly
It’s surely not the same as just floating on by
So perhaps this shamed dragon, in its new form
Aimed to make its own world, out of its scorn
Instead of fire, it breathed in the air
After first making water its lair
Now it too had wings, but all the control
Anyone made here comes from its soul
Still, a surprise came before it could think-
Two perfect walking images- and It tricked them in a blink

This feels like

Had it all
Fresh starts
And rainbows
Somehow got stuck
In the middle
And that one dream
Got me three strikes
Three millenniums to try
And take back
One simple little dream
Third time's the charm
But will they call me
Lucifer
Or will it all be
Over and done
By my eighth birthday
You can't see the color
And you can't see the light
Without darkness
Standing idly by
Oh, the October gore
Oh, the November bore
Oh, the December lore
Will it ever end
When can I start again

Can I pick your brain
Off the record
I got the blues
But it's not cause I don't have green
Don't knock it till you tape it
You see
I couldn't exorcise a demon
But I entertained an angel
He warned me of the secret destroyers
But without a name, a face
How do we keep the facts straight
God can land in any body at any time
And so can his other half
The dark master in white
Lays a thin-veiled canopy
Turns day into a moonless night
Had a lethal conversation
With a top-hat man
In a public place
And I can't get his smug grin
Out of my mind
Nostalgia's just bitter
Intoxicated by the trees
And these god-fearing people
Make it feel like voodoo
Religious machinery
And sunburnt souls
I'm so lost
What is deep and what is death
What is bottom when it's cold liquid
Not rock
Amnesia
Cruel euthanasia
It came
It conquered
It had my eyes for a moment
Then it was gone
I just want to go to the place
Where there is no truth
Cause there is no judge
One-legged animals
That somehow get around

Little Coffins
Lucy Tonic Nov 2011
Underneath the face of a sad clown lies a little wicked small town
Just a speck on the map
You may just be passing through but soon the fever will catch up to you
Feel the ripple effect
Here you won't make a best friend, but a sister you never had
She'll guide you through the flowers and offer lots of laughs
But even at her most serene there's a sinister current underneath
A flexing of power
And soon you'll start looking towards the ground, where you'll start tripping too much to be coincidence
An as you look up the danger stops
She'll look right through you as if you were air and she'll say, 'Take my hand'
Soon she'll invite you to parties of mutual bodies, who happen to favor clumsy fools like you
But they'll treat you like a guest of honor, when really their accolades are insults with armor
They've nothing better to do but make up a coded language and test it on you
How did I get here?
How can I disappear?
But as you start to evaporate she'll throw you another inquiry
She's reading off your flaws with smiling jaws
Taunting you with mistruths
You look away hurt, and she seizes the moment to write the jab on a napkin
Something to share with the cronies for later
Ha-Ha, how cleverly subtle you are!
Friendship is makeshift here, my dear
The hippies don't play instruments anymore
The company she keeps would dispose of her in a second
But she's not worried, she has you as her bullet shield
The body-snatchers with mommy issues save face quite gracefully here
They all say they'd leave, but they burn a free ticket
A mafia with no honor
You'll have seen more life in comas than this town
Little coffins with hearsay mouths where hearts should be
Small town breeds fair-weather ghosts and cold abodes
But it sure is a great place to be if you're training on how to play dead

Kiss me under the cherry tree

Waiting for the mind’s revival

Hanging by the cemetery cypress tree
The naked and cunning chameleon
Tries to show his true colors
As Cain the unicorn says,
“Have a good line”
She wears a necklace of opal
It ruins her spiritual insurance policy
Born from the foam of an underwater church

Everything sparkles
Without the panic
When can I be there
Alive not manic
Assured by the world

Assured my fate

Chaos Reigns
Lucy Tonic Dec 2011
A woman’s sin
Can cause earthquakes,
Mudslides and hurricanes
Woman is subservient
To these tornados,
Tsunamis and storms
It’s in her nature
For chaos to reign
Trying so hard to be good
Fighting what’s innate
Woman is a *****,
A Madonna
A crying mother
Shifting like a chameleon
Woman yearns to be filled
Woman clings to despair
That unravels like a favorite worn shirt
Woman has devil in her genes
But is powerless to change
Fighting a losing battle
Woman needs attention,
Unbreakable pact of trust
Cause man is not tied nor bound by
Monthly bleeding, ovulation
Man destroys pain with reason
Man’s undivided mind leaves
No room for guilt
Man is ego in the moment
Yearning to stay hungry
Man grieves until the moment disappears
Loving the anonymous body
Lacking the ability to understand the mind
Man wants to expose what needs hiding
Man treks the land but fears the sound
Of acorns falling on a roof
Man recognizes there’s more to Eden
Than the garden
Man seeks to tame nature
But regeneration and rebirth rule
An only woman can assist this
As our toes spread out like tree roots
And ghosts sway in the branches
We’re reminded by the deer, the fox, the raven-
Chaos reigns
And nature blooms as it corrupts

A few strands short of DNA
And while I humbly stumble
They buzz and hop and bumble
Right outside my dark window
They zap, evap, and kindle
Ideas seep through my pores, unspoiled
That's when they spray their engine oil
And I liken it to sharp stained glass
This haystack fervor of being trapped
But I'm no rose petal, no son, no saint

And there's a thin crack running through my back
But I can't break without some contact
Till then, I bend, deflect, retract

Hello,
I'm a stranger
But I know you very well
I know you're in pain
And I know that you're swell

You remind me of someone I knew
Now that I know you
I think I love you

So I'll follow you wherever you go
I'll watch you through the rain and through the snow
I'll meet you at the coffee shop in town
I'd even love to watch your pretty face drown

See, I got my designs on your life
I've been watching you through the walls, day and night
I've seen you in the perfect shade of blue
Oh, from here I've got the perfect view

Today I heard you talking to a boy
But baby, to him, you're just a toy
So I scattered on your rug some broken glass
Then I came to your aid, and I came fast

See I'm the only one who'll watch you bleed
Then clean up your mess like scattered beads
Cause I know all your dark secrets and fears
Even your watchdog wants me near

Cause I'm so lonely just like you
I know how it feels to be in your shoes
I've bought all your paintings and your art
So now we both can make a new start

Thought we were as happy as the birds
But you speak of me like I can't hear the words
So I put some itchy poisons in your sheets
Then called to say you're beautiful and neat

Now that you've got me in your world
Let's get rid of that other girl
I know she's your confidant and friend
But cause she's a threat to us, her life must end

Now I'm within your trust and in your bed
But I can't seem to pause what's in my head
I hope the lens don't catch these moments weak
Cause now that I'm here I just can't speak

Oh, silly me I've slipped up again
I mentioned a supposed unknown friend
Now you've caught on to my game
And I'm on top, and you're just another name

You should have embraced my loaded gun
A subtle form of Stockholm syndrome
But I knew you'd rat me out to the cops
So today my love for you just popped

Hello,
I'm a stranger
But I know you very well
I know you're in pain
And I know that you're swell

You remind me of someone I knew
Now that I know you
I think I love you

Blank Canvas
Lucy Tonic Jun 2015
Our hungry souls desired long before the umbilical remnant dissolved
From the beginning, we desired death
We flirted with it, took it to dinner
Because there's a difference between white walls and a empty sheet of paper
You can decorate with pictures, scribble down words
But the first mistake, the first fake heart, the first ride, the first scar
Will never disappear
It lasts forever
You may disagree, but I know better
None of us were born with a blank canvas
The memories were simply erased
So we wouldn't go crazy
But some of us did anyway

Forget anomalies
You're doomed
A ticking time-bomb
And I can't tell you
What you did
We already know
You hate yourself
So tender, so thin-skinned
If you're open to attack
They're gonna seize fast
You're too much to handle
I can't ever get a grip
If we traded a brain
I wouldn't be here
But tables never turn
So let me remind you
It's no world for the weak
No room for vulnerabilities
We'll always have the poison
As long as we can watch
From afar
Can't be susceptible
From afar
Oh, how you've digressed
Into a god-awful mess
I'm on the edge
But you've gone over
So let's skip goodbye
End this someday
I know that sound
Fly on the wall
He'll always stick around

Adam and Steve
Adam and Steven
Adam an Eve
Adam an Even
Adam was odd
An Eve she was even
Then came the planet
With all the plants
It came before their plans
Or did it
Sweet honeysuckle
Down by the water
Sat catacorner
To a caterpillar
On a big mushroom
It had way more than five limbs
It looked strangely wizened
It told them to try it
Till boom bing bang
Wham bam shazam
Buildings and fast food and robots, oh my!
Soon little monkeys
Stopped crawling on knuckles
They invented baseballs
Chains and belt-buckles
And caterpillar
Lost all his wrinkles
Turned into soup
Came out with a wingspan
This is a tale of the
Cautiously clever
Does it make you nauseous
Or want to wear leather?

Some say squirrels are rats with tails, and so they may be
But in my eyes, they are creatures both wild and free
I smile as I see two of them race up and down a tree

Pervert me
Convert me
Twist me
Turn me
To the surface, let it boil
Forget me, keep the spoils

I need extension
Some self-expression
I need extension

Internal traffic
Noise and laughter
Give me shelter
From this jungle

I need extension
Emerge me awkwardly
We’ll come together
In self-expression

In the Bloodbath of a Dream
Lucy Tonic Nov 2012
In the bloodbath of a dream
I went sleep-walking into Eden-
It was burnt to the ground
I smelled the charcoal, tasted the flames
While in a cloud was a huge forked-tongue
That got me thinking of the letter M…
I hopped around to other worlds
Perceiving the events with a cautious schoolgirl nature
I watched chemicals and stars do their ****** dance
Twirling endlessly into each other-
Creating a carnival of colorful exploding death and rebirth
I felt the ghosts in their fortresses eye up the hourglass-
Wondering when time will be broken and they’ll be set free…
There’s blood on a rainbow down by the waterfall
It stained my soul and put my thoughts to rapture and ridiculousness
How far will they go, the demons of this world,
When a measly human breaks their code,
Smashes their hologram mirror,
And realizes that everyone everywhere has always been alone
Everyone everywhere is their own god-
And everyone else, with their dark interiors,
Is there only to torture the blamed
For a mistake they can’t remember…
Lost in the remnants of a dream
I unlocked the gates to hell
And realized that life on earth is purgatory-
There must be a heaven on another astral plane,
A dimension without pain-
Of all the universes in existence, I hope that one bleeds through
Before I wake up to a world where God is dead
An angels fall like shooting stars that wish to remain unseen-
Extinction.

These pastels have gotten paler
You refuse to pale in comparison
I'm a tourist
As I mend the stitching of your soul
And watch you lose control
And somehow this song
Makes it personal
Makes it orbital
Makes French sirens
Sound like butterfly wings
An exotic vacation
No beaches needed
As we disco dance
In a trance of city lights
Resounding from the cove
Of secret species' who
Never do as their told
My body still aches
But I killed a prehistoric fish today

All is well if you keep
Sticking me with pins
I've already had the needles
I've already had a phallus
To suspend all their malice
Yet I still breathe warm-blooded
And cold
***** me before I ***** you
Survival of the fittest Adam’s and Eve’s
You’re all the things I want but don’t need
My seed is your worst enemy

Lucy Tonic Nov 2011
Twenty-four carat-gold stars
My original idea
Became your original sin
Became your aboriginal idea
I laugh at the mess you're in

The Laser in the Lotus
Lucy Tonic Nov 2011
You work with your soul
And they steal with their eyes
And they take with their hands
As they hear all the plans you don't have…
The most ungraceful walker you've ever seen
But when it comes to talk, your tongue's tightrope is a beam
And no matter how heavy and hysterical I breathe
I can't blow your feathered phonics from this slippery scene
There's a laser in the lotus
No proof, but somehow I know this
And the only thing keeping me alive
Is giving you fuel for your sorceries and sapphires
That you cover up with jobs, drugs and flat tires
As the eggs in your head run amok on the wire
There's a laser in the lotus
No proof, but somehow I know this
And you work with your soul
And they steal with their eyes
And they take with their hands
As they write down your plans
I don't know anything, so I'm told, so they blame me
I don't know anything, so I'm cold, and I'm crazy
All I know is a thing I was told in the haze of
Lost control, and it was that I was, so **** lucky to be
Exhaling above ground, above water
So my feet fled, but still fighting is my head
Gutted and bled, and now
Every friend is a cop with a chess kit
Every friend is a cop with a chess kit
Heart's glow is gone but with blood I'll manage
Still I can't repent without knowing the damage

Kismet
Lucy Tonic Nov 2011
There once was a guest at my door named surprise
It told me 'Get rid of that fear in your eyes,
The world's a big place, with plenty of space
I'll always be here if the moment should rise'

So the clown and the wallflower danced
A strange dervish and buffalo stance
Till one disappeared, the other lost ears
And both wore a thin mask of chance

To rebel (to excel) (to rebel) To excel
To go your own way alone is a surefire hell
But a changeling's tight bind an instinct's soft mind
Bloom too late to sense the obvious spell

Caught on the wings of a nine
But somehow still lost on the eight
Stuck on the circuit with no end in sight
Waiting for the hourglass to break

Just a little touch
I know you’re not asking for much
Bite the tangerine
Live out your life’s theme
In the daylight, I step inside
The night is deafening
And while the stars take flight
The moon is threatening
Just a little touch
Don’t tell me to hush
Bite the tangerine
Bang the tambourine
Charm me with the tools that I taught you
Wear all the jewels that I bought you
Throw some wood onto the fire
Whisper all your darkest desires
Just a little touch
You know I’m not asking for much
Bite the tangerine
Dream a little dream

Dying casualty

Shivering sweats
Ever-corporeal mind
Expanding skull
Temple pressure
Tightening screws
Mechanical Frankenstein
Peripheral vision loss
Drunken babble sober talk

Pain still resides
Cigarette blood
The gift that keeps giving
And I'm burnt out
Machine breaking down
Little by little
Another ***** dies
Mental disease
Physical need-
All the same
No sense left
Life with no taste
Words can't express
This is the only place where
Sadness can be heard in its most bitterest pitch
Heart palpitates
On another spoken word
What's the message?
How can I string them together?
Twisted Mandela on the ceiling
Don't let it be the last thing I see
Miss the days of bended knee
Believing words transcribed to holy holy
Brain graffiti, mind confetti
Panic, panic
Delirium
Attack, attack
Merry go round & round

Quixotic Blankets

Am I in hell
Or are there fluorescent lights up there
I tapped on the bulb
And it blossomed into darkness
Fast-forwarding like a dead tulip
And here is where I call home
Where two lovers can bloom
Without fear of being seen
They can dance without tripping
Pray without ripping a magnetic field
Making snow angels on dust
On force-fields of antigravity
But something grew eyes
It had instinct to survive
And the modern man gets offended
When you call him a monkey
Am I in hell
Or are there fluorescent lights up there

Blood Pact
Lucy Tonic Aug 2012
Never before was strength found in small numbers
Cruel horizons leave no room for small blunders
Fatherland of hope, homeland of death
We pricked our nimble fingers and promised to go deaf
Yeah we put our hands together in a ruthless blood pact
Four wolves in pursuit of truth and magic tact
So it was push and shove and torture before the big release
We had to lie to each other before the big relief
Yeah we all were willing to go underneath for this
What a ******, ****** noble tryst
Our vertical minds were sharp as a tack
We closed our eyes and never looked back

Father sees in secret
Praying in the closet
To let the cup pass on
Fulfilling not destroying
The curse of family units
To let the cup pass on
Planting mustard seeds
Overthrowing tetrarchs
To let the cup pass on
People full of dead men’s bones
A generation of vipers
To let the cup pass on
Wailing and gnashing
Once it’s 70 x 7
To let the cup pass on
Convert to little children
Align your heart and mouth
To let the cup pass on
He who isn’t with me
Is surely against me
So let the cup pass on

Underground
Lucy Tonic Jul 2012
They took something from me
Something that didn’t belong to them
So I went to get it back
Now I’m in this place
This maze with grotesque creatures
Now I am one of them
I am the underground
Sure I’m dead and buried
But I keep shaking off the dirt
Still the dust keeps falling from the hourglass
I can’t seem to remember my past
When all I had to say is
“You have no power over me”

May just be prattling
But I’m still making a sound
Like the tree in the forest
That no one hears falling
I got the intensity
But you’re measuring pitch
These words speak volumes
Keep up with my speed
Embrace the melody
Of wounded lips
May just be a façade
Never wanted to be language
The talk of angels
Or something else heavenly
Could be Pentecost
Could be a tongue roaming free
