*** was something from the start

To keep the species going

If you mean to make a child

Be there when he is growing

The responsibility is great

Not something took for granted

You must be careful with the seed

And where and when it’s planted

The act is obligating…

It’s not  for wanton pleasure

The little one must be aware

He’s loved beyond all measure

And those that leave one on a porch

Are worthless when they do it

You must be mindful in this world

Of those you bring into it

While you enjoy the moment

Be cautious with your role

No *** is unprotected

Unless you have no soul

The wind plays a music that swells my despair

Paints darker the setting of my lonely lair

Where I would recover from dreams kicked aside

My  eerie tormentor  comes back like the tide

Whistling and keening from high pitch to soft

Stirring the pigeons awake in the loft

Screeching  a branch on my window of stars

Playing the drainpipe in monotone bars

Resting and racing then altering course

“I saw your loved one” says its haunting voice

Routing the season of flowers and sun

Clearing the path for a desolate one

I came to you, oh mighty land
Asleep to everything at hand
Lethargic from more southern air
Not yet awakened, unaware
The panorama I beheld
Composed a view unparalleled
A pastor with his best endeavor
Could preach forever and forever
And never say with words as clear
As the aura of this atmosphere
In the awe inspiring craggy peaks
And the chasms as His silence speaks
Where His creation stirs conviction
That brings a balming benediction
To one that hungers for a proof
Here, upon the planets roof

The neighborhood is gone

Familiar faces

Nowhere to be seen

Portland cement hides

The dusty street below

Progress left its scars

Razed our shotgunhouse

And poured an interstate

The corner gang no more

So precious few

Can be accounted for

They are the ones

Who lie so still and cold

Beneath incongruous slabs of stones

With names of bare foot friends

I used to know

Your Levi's beat all I have seen
Your ancestors had some good genes
I love your good roots
Your fine attributes
From your head to your toes and between

It's all very clear to me
You're certified, high pedigree
It so plainly shows
There's some blue blood I know
I hope that you'll share it with me

LADY, IT'S ALL IN YOUR GENES
YOU MAKE MY RED CORPUSCLES DREAM
SINCE YOU CAME BY
OUR CHEMISTRY'S SO HIGH
LADY, IT'S ALL IN YOUR GENES

Your figure is full thoroughbred
You could raise up a man that was dead
I want to be part
Of your love from the start
I can't get you out of my head

The poet in me
Can disappear
I’m a combo short
Without his ear
A pretender’s left
And here comes panic
Without my Muse
I get quite frantic
And chaos crowds
The remaining source
Where I’m a knight
Without a horse
A wordsmith here
Unqualified
To pick my brain
Just pushed aside
Robotic words
Will cross my page
The day grows dark
On life’s old stage
Longfellow looks down
Laughter booming
At the tripe I write
So non consuming
My ego falls
My pride goes limp
And one hung low
Is no Chinese ****
So I send prayers
From my antenna
To reach my Muse
My lost breadwinner
How could one think
Him but a myth
I lost my flow
I lost my pith
Oh here he comes
With lines exact
I'm me again
My Muse is back

I’ve always looked at dancing girls.
I think that all men do.
I drool at scenes
Like tight blue jeans–
Until they fade from view.

Where pretty girls are showcased
I’m sure to raise a toast
Cause a derriere
Might make me stare
Till I become a ghost.

And, yes, it’s like a candy store
When beauties crowd the beach
Because a teeny
And snug bikini
Make my right and left eyes meet.

For I lo-o-o-o-o-ve to goggle long long legs
Whereever I may roam
And if they're cute
I will weigh the fruit
But I always boogie home

THE BIG JETS HIT THEIR TARGETS
TWIN TOWERS TUMBLED DOWN
BIN LADEN SMILES WHEN HE RECALLS
HIS FAVORITE KILLING GROUND
AMERICA'S DARKEST MOMENT
WHEN BLACK SMOKE FILLED THE AIR
AS STEEL AND MORTAR VANISHED
ONLY ANGELS WALKED THOSE STAIRS

CHORUS:
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
WHERE THE PAST IS ONE BAD DREAM
THOSE LOVED ONES LIVE WITHIN US
THERE'S NO CHANGING WHAT THEY MEAN
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
AND THE GRAVEYARD THAT WAS MADE
BY THOSE NINETEEN MUSLIM KILLERS.....
WHILE THE DEBT IS STILL UNPAID

AND NOW THEY WANT ANOTHER MOSQUE
NEAR VERY HALLOWED GROUND
TO BUILD  IT NEAR GROUND ZERO
IS AN INSULT SO PROFOUND
AND WHERE THEY'VE BUILT THEIR TEMPLES
THEY'VE BROUGHT MILITANTS WITH CLAWS
THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN
SELLING ISLAM'S THEIR GREAT CAUSE

CHORUS:
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
WHERE THREE THOUSAND BURNED AND SCREAMED
NOW THOSE LOVED ONES LIVE WITHIN US
TIME WON'T CHANGE HOW MUCH THEY MEAN

Sometimes they fly
Too close to the ground
Old Willie said it long ago
They're beautiful
To have around
And they love so much
They'll never
Let you down

 Instead you find
There love feels right
And gives you wings
That knows no height
Where souls are snared
On lonely nights
Where warm warm kisses
Cause one way flights

Temptation's bridge
Still stretches through the darkness
Tonight I'm sure
To cross it one more time
I long to feel
Those pretty lips slip open
A warm sweet push
Inside the curves I wind

I can't resist
The touching tenderness
The longing aches
That multiply desire
Where shadows arch
To peaks of rising pleasure
In sweet sensations
And waves of endless fire

That's why I go
Back to the nights that were
Always predictable
With feelings that were real
And you are there
To reward me one more time
To relive golden moments
Incredible to feel

Or I could go
Into the empty future
Where passion never goes
Not much there to gain
It can't compare
To that old bridge to darkness
That prism in my memory
Where pleasure knows no pain

I saw you feed the sparrows

Believing it, was hard

They ate seeds from your open palm

Right in your own front yard

Your reputation was a gruff

To humans in your realm

But then you fed my feathered friends

As gently as a lamb

I realize I liked you there

The rumors were too narrow

I'm sure God watched you there with love

Feeding hungry sparrows

I'm sometimes in the limelight
Not by my own request
But there are young observers
And I must pass their test

They'll be evaluating
The character they see
And some of them may imitate
The side I've shown of me

So let the smile be friendly
This helping hand no less
And let my legacy be one
Of having shown my best
Louis Brown Sep 2014
The pretty one smiled
So we danced for awhile
But her eyes were a tough wall to pass
Then I danced with another
Who was somebody's mother
And I ran away pretty fast

When I found a young babe
They were good lines I gave
And I thought my ship came in at last
But she teased and confused me
And finally refused me
When a guy in the band made a pass

SO I TOOK AN OLD MEMORY TO HEAVEN
SOME NIGHTS THAT'S THE HAND YOU ARE GIVEN
SHE FORGAVE MY LATE CALL
AND WE HAD US A BALL
WHEN I TOOK AN OLD MEMORY TO HEAVEN

My pride got knocked out
But there wasn't a doubt
My fantasy seemed mighty real
When I crossed that old bridge
It was something to dig...
I fell again head over heals

It's dandy
Finding randy girls
As macho guys seem to
I drool at scenes
Like tight blue jeans
When a wiggle warms the view
I'm a gangster
For ****** samplers
And sweeties that crowd the beach
I used to shop
Till my eyes would lock
Where my right and left eyes meet
And when I gaze
At perfect sways
A tom-tom fills my chest
And I still cheer
For a lovely rear
But I race back to the best
For I love the one
That shares our home
She stirs me quite enough
In her gown
It flutters down
When we peel down to the buff
I can't afford
The babes on Broad
And cheating is too drastic
But I've long chose
My perfect rose
And hmmmmm she's still fantastic

I once knew a fool
Who screws his own life
So ugly within
No help from his wife
The thing called his brain
Just rots in his head
But he'll have to use it
To prove he's not dead
He has not a heart
No passionate soul
He's one empty shell
Without a true goal
A scarring of others
His one strong desire
His reasons are clueless
His morals are dire
No deity claims him
He uses up air
His ought to be rationed
And given elsewhere
You're known by good will
In your journey with men
But this one seems worthless
And rotten within

I've often observed

The nature of people

Inside the church door

And far from the steeple

But I've never seen

A heart with less guile

Her intentions within

Are warm as  her smile

It's pure honesty

That resides in her soul

As true innate goodness

Has final control

Where watching is awesome

She'll give, give and give

For love rules a heart

I came back to a town

In a year of my life

To nothing the same as before

I thought I would capture

All the familiar

But time had barred shut every door

I came back to a town

The first haven I knew

I never would see it again

Like Mr. Wolfe said

Nobody finds it

It's gone just like yesterday's wind

I came back to a town

That nurtured and reared me

Forgot me, not one hand to hold

And there was a man there

In all the shop windows

So utterly lost in the cold

I saw two birds upon a limb

One was her and one was him

One was courting; one was shy

I figured out which was the guy

I liked his moves strong and bold

He sashayed closer in his role

But she was busy with a worm

While he was anxious for his turn

But then a bigger cousin came

And took her dinner, what a shame

Number one bird watched her go

Chasing cousin Romeo

Who stopped and let her share his worm

Funny how a road can turn

The best laid plans of bird and man

You never know what life will hand

There was a House Speaker named Boehner
Who went forth without any honor
He did his best to hurt Obamacare
To damage the folks with no hospital care
He killed every bill that came to the House
He's sorry you'd say like the sorriest louse
Then Obama's army got ready to roll
Barach showed us methods we all could extoll
That got the people insurance at last
Poor Boehner he cried like he's done in the past
Then he fought every tax to help people on high
To get all their votes when November comes by
But there is a Father in Heaven above
Who whispered no man can win without love
Then Boehner tried suing  and shamefaced us all
Voters said Boehner  was losing his *****
Then he failed to effect immigration
And stifle the strongest of nations
He flunked with each program he wanted to win
Soon Boehner will be on the streets once again
So all will be well in the dear U.S.A.
There'll be no Boehner to get in the way

You've been gone a dozen days
And I'm yet to fall sleep
The bed feels wide and empty
With your lips out of reach

The scent of you still lingers
And it's driving me insane
Now the night against my window
Brings a hard, blowing rain

So bring back the gentle presence of your spirit
On nights like these I need to be so near it
I miss your arms, your lips, your kiss
Without you there's so much to miss
Bring back the gentle presence of your spirit

Twelve days is like a lifetime
Except a whole lot longer
But my love will last forever
And at the end be stronger

Cause no one could replace you
I believe in you and me
And I know we found a feeling
Truly, truly meant to be

That pretty blonde waitress

Who filled my cup her way

In that unbuttoned  blouse

They say she's gone today

She had me looking down

With warm admiring eyes

As she poured out her best

I saw the great divide

It seems she took great care

To keep my interest new

For columbia's mountain grown

And for the canyon view

I thought we had a bond

Yet now she's running loose

But lo!!  Another brings a cup

And, yee-ouch, check that caboose

'Fore I’m snoring away in a Manhattan minute

Fill up my mug with my potion poured in it

Those dark little beans are my favorite booster

I'm up to the task like a Rhode Island rooster

I came upon a crossroad
I had to figure out
If I should take the road with you
Or take the one without

I came up a crossroad
I chose to let you go
Not because I didn't care
Because I love you so

You see I thought that we could find
A better road alone
We were born in different worlds
Too different to be one

I came upon a crossroad
And did what I had to do
But the hardest thing I ever did....
Was turn away from you

“You have to love your neighbor”
He told to every throng
But one by one they turned away
He had to die alone
His was a  voice
Crying in the wilderness

“I have a dream”, the dark man said,
“Of peace on earth someday”
But hatred reigned in other hearts
And Martin was their prey
His was a voice
Crying in the wilderness

The man born in Hawaii
He struggles for the poor
Healthcare plans are his own cross
Where all can find a cure
Is his a  voice
Crying in the wilderness

Pray all good men will recognize
When hope is pushed aside
To rise against the chaos
Where love has been denied
When truth is lost
Crying in the wilderness

Give your neighbor all you can
Give sweat unto your boss
Give your troubles to the wind

Give your kidneys to caffeine
A hundred years they'll go
Give Gene Simmons your big ****
And let your skinny show

Give your payments to the bank
To send your kids to college
Send 'em to a better school
To give their noodles knowledge
Give charity to old goodwill
To prove your heart is pure
Like Robin Hood take from the rich
And give it to the poor

Give tithes unto your preacher man

Give carefully your hearts
Give crowns and pounds and guineas

Sure gives my blood a rush
My eyes are going cross-eyed
For what I long to touch
That fragrance smells so sweet on you
My discipline could give in
So please don't lure me closer
Where the troubles could begin

Don't lead me temptation
I can find it on my own
You give me palpitations
No heart could take it long
I've loved you in my fantasies
And, Babe, you know it's hard
Temptation 's gonna break my will
If I don't leave old Dodge

There's a line that I can't cross
There's some scruples I can't bend
I've been lucky not to stumble
Though I know how close it's been
While I love you in a special way
Trying to love two loves is cold
And I can't hold up the middle long
I just can't play that role.....

So don't lead me to temptation
I can find it on my own

Turned on the gas
And begin gently
Driving down that sweet road
As I pushed the gears
To a faster speed
And enjoyed the highway
Under me
We both reciprocated
To the reactions
As the excursion uplifed us
Through the movements together
Down the curves and hills
Finally reaching culmination
As we climbed the last hill
In frenetic coordination
Reaching a wonderul crescendo
As we finished our first drive
And looking back in amazement
We realized we'd been missing out
On the most pleasurable part of living
And vowed to make sure
We'd make that drive again...
And again

He waits in ambush
Down the road of time
Around some bend
Atop some lonesome hill
That black highwayman waits
To do his loathsome task
Inexorably,
The road draws closer
To this abomination
Who waits to pounce
Some tired misfortunate
Whose time runs out
I cannot dodge his keen
And ****** scythe
I'll be tremblin
Perhaps wailing with remorse
On this untimely day
At odds with my demise
For before I go
I hope to frequent
All the taverns
Quaff the potent elixirs
And dance with all
The dark eyed girls I can
To test each proven pleasure
Invent a few myself
Until I know for sure
I've had a chance to taste
The last sweet drop of life
Before that final rasp

In that great big fancy ballroom
When few dancers dance at three
There are two transparent shadows
On the floor you barely see
They are moving to the music
Where two spirits love to touch
In that scene they come together
Just like when they had so much

Old ghosts still love to dance when life is gone
They  don't let it die...They rock right on
They just cannot seem to stop
There's country, blues, a little be bop
Ghosts still love to dance when life is gone

They want to stay till break of dawn
But the cemetery beckons
They rush back home to weathered stones
And fill two crypts in seconds
Just an ancient ritual...
Never hurt the town at all
And when mortals bring the music
They just go and have a ball

God’s Son identified with men

And God watched from above Him

He healed the sick and broke the law

And men would come to love Him

But law men stressed  He’d have to die

In mankind’s cruelest way

Rome was good with Cross techniques

And death would have its day

The spikes were long to hold Him high

Acute the agony

Not once he begged for mercy

Till God would set us free

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

Reported the occasion

Since then He’s died a trillion times

In man’s imagination

Man moves real mountains
Conquers deep oceans
Explores new infections
While probing the  stars
With God in his spirit
He tackles the mysteries
For answers beyond us
It never occurs
To doubt His Great Maker
Who opens new trails
To far away worlds
Out far past forever
And then turning inward
As worlds microscopic
Shrink smaller and smaller
Finding new questions
The farther he goes
It seems not to end
In stars or in atoms
Amazed that forever
Keeps going both ways

Since then my lying lines, I've really felt
There's chemistry I've looked for my life thru
Woman I think it's all in you

I've never seen a woman with so much
I've never seen such pretty skin to touch
All I want is right here in my hands
Heaven knows I'm such a  lucky man

It's funny feeling lonesome here beside you
Side by side where we've loved so many times
It's hard to understand
Has love played out its hand.....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

Remember the night we shared our first warm kisses
I thought I heard forever in your sighs
All this time by your side
I didn't notice when it died....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

While I told my friends that you were meant for me
I was less than you thought obviously
And it breaks my heart to see you start
          To search each stranger's smile.....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

But that's just you--I know you hate to hurt me
You'd rather tell another gentle lie
You think it's still your secret
Oh baby, you can't keep it.....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

Good morning, Mister Moon, I guess you never sleep
It's 4 a.m. and I'm still counting sheep
I want you on my side to bring her to my place
Without her smile, your moonlight's such a waste

In your gentle light her warm lips feel so right
A little moondust could make these prospects bright
She takes my breath when I see her come in sight
So send your beams and warm her heart tonight

Please Mister Moon, my easy going friend
I pray you'll help me reach her heart again
I crave her touch in your warm moonlight glow
She stirs the strongest feeling life can know

You've always done such magic things before
So turn the tide and make her mine once more
I'll pull her close behind that cloudy draw
I swear I'll love her by the highest law

GOOGLE’S LOVE ADVICE

His relationship with girls was somewhat awful
He'd used less than brilliance in that world
So he searched the internet for wisdom he could get
To get some ***** kisses from the girls

Folks told him Google had a lot of answers
And he learned a lot by reading Romeo
And since he studied Hindu, they like what he is into
He's popular with all the girls he knows

IT JUST TOOK SOME GOOGLE’S LOVE ADVICE
NOW IN HIS ARMS THEY WANT HIS LOVING THRICE
AND OLE GOOGLE TAUGHT HIM PLOYS
PUTTING SHAME TO ALL THE BOYS
IT JUST TOOK SOME GOOGLE’S LOVE ADVICE

He found they wanted more than pretty roses
And though some sweet perfume may change their mood
The **** tips He googled means overtures by the oodles
The girls all want a piece of this young dude

So now his black book's full of pretty girls
And they call him well before he starts his day
Every time he learns new angles they love to get entangled
Learning those love lessons from Bombay.

I'm going AWOL at first light
Sherman threatens my hometown
I hate to leave Robert E. Lee
But my heart's not backing down
There's a railroad to Atlanta
I'll fight side by side with Paw
General Johnson's too outnumbered
But we'll stand at Kennesaw

I don't like to leave Virginia
But Atlanta needs me there
With my family in danger
It's a duty I must bear
I'll meet Mayde at Big Shanty
We can have some time at last
I'll get up at the crack of dawn
And kick old Sherman's ***

Now I know we're way outnumbered
They have more than two to one
And Sherman hates all rebels
He's Abe Lincoln's favorite skunk
If we could get old Stonewall
To come down for just a spell
We could kick old Abe's invaders
From Kennessaw to hell

Mayde, I'm real scared of dying
If our rebel line should fall
But I'll stand to fight **** yankees
Make 'em think they hit a wall
We own no slaves but Sherman thinks
It's rebel killin' time
So I'll shoot holes in Yankee coats
Before there's one in mine

And making that ten day ocean trip
I still missed the warm closeness
Until the last phone call
She told me  she wanted one more fling
One more so she could squeeze
The last sweet drop from college life
Before we went on the marriage tour
Where she longed to make
All we could of another day
Ringing out our church bells
But I felt a little cheated
For her to have a relationship
And me to feel the anguish
To always  wonder why
She couldn't hold on
Just one more whisk of time
Still it's so poetic in its justice
That she'll see no one here
To say goodbye to
Louis Brown Mar 2012
Life made me mean and I took it out on everyone in sight
I never loved a man on earth and I wouldn't treat 'em right
They told me I looked mighty good; that never made me change
Till I met this wiry cowboy who rode in from the range

This ugly tempered cowboy neglected union dues
He'd sleep with mountain lions when he had the choice to choose
If he wanted sump'm bad--best to say you're the master
He's got more hair upon his chest than a grizzly in Alaska

HE DROVE HIS JACKHAMMER LOVE THROUGH THIS CONCRETE HEART OF MINE
THIS MAN ATE NAILS FOR BREAKFAST; HE COULD SNAP A GEORGIA PINE
BUT HE MADE MY HEART GO PITTY PAT AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE
HE DROVE HIS JACKHAMMER LOVE THROUGH THIS CONCRETE HEART OF MINE

He wouldn't take no sass from me; wouldn't treat me like a lady
He knew that I meant yes when I told that cowpoke maybe
I told him I could love no man so cowboy move along
He told me Honey shut your mouth, and for once I got it wrong

REPEAT
