If a raindrop was a kiss
I would give them all away
If the sunlight was a smile
I would share them every day
If the stars were positive thoughts
I would sprinkle them with glee
If the wind could spread my love
I'd give it all abundantly

Welcoming all
Standing tall
Embracing its place in the entrance hall

The aim it's beauty
To enhance
Patiently decorating every branch

In admiration I gaze a while
It never fails to raise a smile

Covered in ornaments
Head to toe
The branches tipped
With winter snow

Awash with colors shining bright
Adorned with twinkling fairy lights

A spiritual calm evoked by sight


As it lights the darkness

I do not fear the earth I tread
Beneath these darkened skies
My quest  is to walk in honesty

When someone shows us kindness

That the good lord up above

I see him in a garden
When it's in full bloom
His essence in the aroma

I hear him in the sound
Of a new born babies cry
I see him through
The beauty of a gentle butterfly

I feel his gentle spirit
in a summer breeze
His strength I see strong standing tall
Through the vision of the trees
He touches our hearts in many ways
I've no doubt that he's there
We only have to look around
To see he's everywhere

So I pick up my old friends
My note book n my pen

I scrawl my thoughts on paper
It doesn't always rhyme
It helps to keep me centred
Relieve tension from the mind

There are many  varied subjects
That inspire me to write
I'm not sure why
But words just flow
With ease when late at night

Some poems tell a story
Of the future
Or times past
Others speak of love affairs
Never meant to last
So many relevant subjects
The reader can digest

But once I write
No stopping me
I never think of rest
So I gather all my thoughts
Before I start to write
With my note book and my pen

Right here now in the present is where I ought to be
But my thoughts they travel forward or back in history

I must embrace the minutes
The hours and the days
Connecting and enjoying life
I must change my ways

Is what matters most alone
As the past cannot be changed
And the futures yet unknown ......

The nights the years
Love that eliminates

The songs I hear
The sights the sounds

All around

Many evils surround us hate jealousy rage n pride
But there's a bridge gods left for all
His love waits

My rewards unfold before me each passing day

The fruits of all my labour and sacrifice

Your intelligence will be an asset to the next generation

Who invented it and why
It's  such  a meaningful  symbol
Can bring a tear to the eye

A friendship formed from the start
I looked beneath
I saw her heart
No malice found
Just love and grace
Though sadness
Reflected upon her face

She had no friends
She lived alone
Her weight ballooned
To 30 stone
Her house unkempt
In disary
Her life a struggle
Every day

Lots of children
Who lived by
Through rocks and sticks
They made her cry
They laughed at her
Called her names
Bullying
One of there favourite games

She did look different
I agree
From the average
Person that we see
But she held a lesson
For us all
Don't judge by appearance
This lessons tall

I wondered why
We ever met
Each second spent
With no regret

As I now reflect
It's plain to see
The lesson learned
Was meant for me


To look beyond

What the minds eye told

As deep within

Was a heart of gold

So many things in life we see
Are an illusion of reality
Our young no longer taking place
At the dinner table
Now there's just a space

While  many parents sleep
The children are awake

Heads buried deep

theres a spell they can't  break

Even in the morning
As I drive my child to school
I see no conversation
That would break their spell
And rule
There's earphones in their sockets
iPhones in their hand
They are not here
Their under the spell of the illusion
Of our land

Their way of chat is to tap a screen
Holding many secrets in between
So much time stolen never
to be seen

Their in another world- almost like a dream


What can be done what can we say
Reality seems so far away

Like a ship sailing aimlessly
Lost in oblivion
Solitude becoming its closest friend

Anger and fear

I see you

A host of daffodils surround the trees

Mother nature whispers silently

The air we breath with darkened sound

Noise from traffic fills the air
Pollution Spewing everywhere

Skeletal frames of the human race
Reflect upon the ground they face

The clock it rules it regulates
It delegates anticipates

No escape no release
An intruder -til our time does cease

Responsibilities scream and shout
Following us til we check out
No where to hide
No where to run
They encroach our freedom

So little time to laugh and play
Not enough hours in a day
Evaluation is the key

A hug or a kiss
Is really what matters
These things I'd miss

A chat to a Neighbour
A smiling face
Simple treasures
That brighten the days

Some only tears

If you've had a father
Who didn't really care
Then just look up above
As your heavenly fathers there
He really cares for you
So much
His life he freely gave
Hoping you would turn to him
To allow you to be saved
He made it very simple
All he asks of us to do
Is repent of all our worldly ways
follow him our whole lives through
His love it is
so gentle
Everlasting always there
He does not want us suffering
Hurt pain nor despair
He's even left directions
In his holy book
That we should get to know him
All he asks is take a look
Not forcefull nor demanding
is this father take your time
Like myself you may resist him
But now he's placed his hand in mine
Each day now I walk with him
I've found a love I never knew
Could be so overwhelming
Unconditional
and true
So if your feeling sad and worn
Humanity your plight
No need to suffer anymore
Walk from that dark
Into the light.

When silence falls upon my lips
And sound I hear no more

Then I'll be on my way to meet
Those loved ones gone before

I have no fear within my heart
As I reach my dwelling place

For I'll be with the creator
Greeted by his warm embrace

Do not be sad or sorrowful
Do not feel guilt or shame

No need for tears or past regrets
Nor anxious thoughts or blame

Do not fear my journey
As I will not walk alone

Rather know that I will be

How many times did I  not learn
From a lesson taught before

How many mistakes repeated
100 times or more

How many chances
Did I ignore  - to forgive ?
Then make amends

How many people
Have I  led to believe
To trust in me their friend ?

No value held in spoken words
Unless we act them out

Reassurance only found within
The heart that holds no doubt

A smile is just a gesture ?
A hug is just a squeeze.?

Manners don't mean nothing
Just words  - Thank you  and please ?

It's true these things are simple
But like a tender loving touch

Without them
Then we realise
They all meant.    ....... so very much........

In life there's a road we must travel
Some parts are winding and long
There's bumps n cracks that knock us off track
Sometimes there's no light and no song

There are times when this road is too steep
As we wonder just how can we climb
So we stumble along hoping we've not gone wrong
Then somehow once again we are fine

This road we're all on is a journey
There's lessons to put us to test
Only mistakes do show
What we once didn't know
So we learn then to just do our best

In life there's a road we must travel
We may think there's no end in sight

Where were you when the world stood still ?
When all were forever changed

When terror struck from explosive skies
Tears falling from disbelieving eyes
Haunting memories
Scarring the mind
Leaving remnants of the most barbaric kind

As buildings fell
Hit the ground
Utter chaos
All around
Assassination was deviously planned
Can you believe
By our fellow man

What have they done! There's been nothing gained?
Only fear distruction heartache pain
Jihad the battle their belief to fight
"Two wrongs"
"Never make a right"!

This day forever will always
Remain
Tarnished by the devils stain
Can't comprehend it
Never will !
Forget all those killed
The day the world stood still. ........

I used to believe you loved me

Ignore the warning signs
Wedding ring in your pocket
Aftershave on every day
Longer hours at the office
Hotel bills
When you worked away
Didn't want to dial the number
It's what I had to do
She answered n said " hey ****"
White lace n promises..?
We're through  !

Twenty years ago I stood upon a stage
I learned there was a man
Who gave his life to save
Each and every one of us
No predudice in sight
This man his name was Jesus
To this world
He is the light.     ( john 8 : 12)
He asked that we should follow him
By their fruits you will know.    (mathew  7 : 20)
He hoped we'd read his words
With his guidance we would grow
To become more like the master
Be imitators of him
No longer chase our own desires. ( Galatians 2: 20 )
For he now dwells within
I walked this path for many years
Wasn't easy
I gave in
To all the things I shouldn't have
My life so full of sin
I've tried to run
Tried to hide
From the good lord up above
But he is the vine.  (John : 5 : 15 )
I am the branch
He's still there -I feel his love
I now know and I realise
His hands upon me every day
I will now ask his forgiveness
Get down on my knees
And.  Pray.

No guarantees in this world that we live
Some of us take some of us give
We can't trust
Governments
Can't trust the banks
When we help others
Can't trust they'll give thanks
If we become sick in need of care
In hospitals you may not find it there
If we lock up our valuables
Secure our home
There's no guarantee
Thieves will leave it alone
Even when you marry
You may find
Your closest friend
May have
Adultery in mind
We strive to survive
Obeying the laws
There's loop holes in that
It too full of flaws
Then there's insurance
Supposed to bring peace of mind
But read the small print
Even then you will find
They've a get out clause
It's too late! You paid n signed
Each day that  unfolds
Another lie
Only one guarantee
We are born to die

Some people say
I don't believe
In a god above
They can't perceive

They have never seen him
Or heard him speak
They scoff at believers
Consider them weak

They ask for evidence
To show he's there
Doubt why he would love us
Or even care

They say they've prayed
When things got tough
But he never heard
So they had enough

They then believe
When we die that's it
As a loving god
Doesn't seem to fit

Into this world
We dwell within
With hardened hearts
Their life is grim

My answer is ~then this perceive

His presence is transparent


Like the air we breathe
