a bench meets a back
and a mind goes idle.
Standing on the shore.

I watch and wait.

What am I waiting for?

Nothing.

Just a moment to come by.

Maybe you.

Nothing.

This is the only time I am patient.

When waiting for nothing.

You might not understand now,

but you will.

Just watch the clouds that slowly dance

in the sky

Watch the sun move down the horizon,

changing rays of color.

Watch the waves flowing swiftly away.

Now you know what I am waiting for.

Nothing.
When I found the door
I found the vine leaves
speaking among themselves in abundant
whispers.
My presence made them
hush their green breath,
embarrassed, the way
humans stand up, buttoning their jackets,
acting as if they were leaving anyway, as if
the conversation had ended
just before you arrived.
I liked
the glimpse I had, though,
of their obscure
gestures. I liked the sound
of such private voices. Next time
I'll move like cautious sunlight, open
the door by fractions, eavesdrop
peacefully.

With a still broken heart
inflicted still with promises
of an always that never came...
Our eyes meet,
distant over the months passed
stained by the memories
of once upon a time..
and still unfocused on
a reality refusing to exist.

You fix your eyes in me
you demand mine to react.
Instead my heart speaks
through my lips
my voice obscure,
failing to make a sound.
"I miss you."

As reflections and memories unfold,
swiftly once upon a time is retold.

I'd miss you, with sunflower in azure sky,
you'd miss me too, as waves came crashing by.
I'd need you, in a park with playful youth,
you'd need me more, a hectic city's sole truth.
I'd love you, through the static in my phone,
you'd love me most, in a packed room - alone.
Forever, I'd whisper, swaying you away
as music and fortune came into play.
Always, you'd promise, your hand in mine,
under the stars and their cunning shine.

You fix your eyes into me
still distant
but not too far away.
Your heart replies, voiceless too
and you walk away
with my fate,
music and our destiny.
Leaving me with nothing...
and lips I could not read.

our society
talks of acceptance
of equality,
but only if you look the part.

our society
is one filled with ***
of promiscuity,
but God forbid
if you bed anyone.

our society
idolizes love
and soul mates
but only if it is the right ***.

our society
tells us that everyone is unique,
but whatever you do
don’t be yourself.

i think it would be nice
if i were to be a ghost.

think of all the fun
i could have
while scaring people shitless.

tip over the water glasses,
the chairs,
the tables.

turn off the lights
in the evening
turn them on
at dawn.

walk around
in silk sheets
whispering quiet nothings
in your ears
watching you look around
eyes wide.

leave you little poems
that you’ve never read
because ive made them up
just then.

we could have fun
as you look right through me
just like old times.
:
- steady rain
- howling wind
- slight creaks of our bed
- taps of my keyboard
- your chuckle
- our cat's claws on the floorboards
- a boiling kettle
- swirling coffee in a mug
- toast popping up
- soft click of our bedroom door
- clinking dishes
- your heartbeat
- pattering feet
- running water
- your breathing
