Would that I could remember her face,
Her glorious smile and feminine grace,
And would that I could a memory stir
To recall the days that I spent with her.

Would that I could her sweet scent approve,
To wallow in each fragrant curve,
And would that I could feel kisses like rain
That she used to give me again and again.

Would that I could her gossamer hair
Upon my pillow find it there,
And would that I could time's barrier move
To once more have her as my love.

so I brought my writer wife
(prominently pregnant)
to the hospital
and on her bed, she screamed:
"weren't" "hasn't" "couldn't" "shan't"
"aint" "hadn't" "you're" "isn't"
"aren't" "didn't" "wasn't"
"who's?" "what's?" "he's" "she's"

The doctors were confounded
and they turned to me and they said:
"What the hell is she doing?"

And I replied with double speed
and a violent sense of urgency:
*"Don't you know?
She's having contractions -
she's a writer"

Kiss

The first time that we stole a kiss
I fell in love right from the start,
For in that moment of pure bliss
Your velvet lips ensnared my heart.

The magic of your mouth on mine
And soft caresses from your hand,
Were altogether so divine,
A joy I barely could withstand.

Your sweet intoxicating scent
And fragrant aura framed your face,
That caused such feelings to ferment,
I lost myself in your embrace.

I found my heaven in your arms
And could not pull myself away,
A victim of your tender charms
To which, my love, I hope to stay.

Eternity contains therein
The essence of what might have been,
The words you would have said to me
And I to you reciprocally,
If sooner our two hearts had met
And never friends but lovers set.
O what a heart wrenched tragedy
Of you and him, not you and me.

She is a flower
Out to glamorize everything she touches
And everything she sets foot on

She is a flower
Admired for her beauty
That casts light on your gloomy day

She is a flower
Your object of adoration
Where your loyalty lies

She is a flower
A cure to the sickness
Unfolding within you

She is the flower
You picked up rashly
And took away from where she’s supposed to be

She is the flower
Caged in the vase locked in your dark room
No one else can see

She is the flower
Stray in your heart
That blocks the daylight she deserves to indulge herself in

She is the flower
You so much care for
That she wilts in your selfish hands

i know i already wrote two poems tonight,
but i just remembered how
last night at 2am we were sharing a tiny blanket
and when i started to slightly shiver or shift,
you tucked the whole blanket around me
(five minutes later I heard your teeth chatter)
