Smiling wide,
Talking polite.
Standing tall,
In the ball.

His eyes drift,
And the world shifts.
His eyes got caught,
By the princess's train of thought.

                                                            The princess caught him peeking,
                                                                     Her dazzling eyes gleaming.
                                                                                 Looked away she did,
Blushing as red as a little kid.

She hoped he was a dreamer,
For she wanted him to lead her
                                                                                       In her nightmares.
Keeping her safe from the stares.

Life can be tough.
That’s just how it goes.
Sometimes it’s enough
to drag you through lows.

Sometimes all you know
is pain and its sting.
Sometimes life will throw
just about anything.

It’s all for your good.
But it won’t seem that way.
It’s all understood
as a plan rotten day.

Looking back you will see
the gem hell will give.
But for now it will be
just a crap way to live.
This came to me as I was going to bed. I often get second thoughts about sharing my poetry. I get some acceptance but a ton of rejection. About half the people where I live don’t want to hear it whatever it happens to be. Over time it has a severe eroding effect on my confidence as a poet.

A love like theirs,
Is something I wish for.
Sweet moments spent together,
No matter the weather.
All of those cares,
Genuine and from the core.
So beautiful,
So sweet.
Always truthful,
And such a treat.

Maybe one day,
With the right one.
The one who'd make me stay,
Making me feel like I've won.

That day will come,
Maybe years from now.
But will I be ready to drum
The beats of love and take a vow?

Everything that starts,
Shall end.
Thus, "Hello" is just another way to say
"Goodbye"

"Aw, man,
I wish I could be like them."
But be careful what you wish for.
They may seem all happy and perfect,
Shining bright like the stars.
But what kind of scars
Do they hide behind all those smiles?

Fudge adults!
For setting high expectations,
For their kids who are trying their best!
For making us think we are not enough,
When really we are.

For making us think that we aren't perfect,
When in reality no one is.
For comparing us,
Making us feel not worthy
Of their expectations.

For asking us to be something they wish for,
An amazing kid to brag about.
Those expectations,
Weigh us down.
Too much, too much.
Could you at least lighten the load?

We're kids for crying out loud!
Not adults like you are.
I'm tired of what you think we should be,
When I'm older,
I'm gonna break free.
Adults are ok, but sometimes not u know? did this for fun
free verse poetry is fun! :D

Piece by piece
It slowly builds,
A Corner,
The sky.
The colour blue.
A cloud,
The edge,
The colour red.

At the start,
It grows clearer.
With time,
Breaks apart.
